I killed one eye like 30 times already and think I'm not really with luck cause got x4 lulu weapon (she become uselles in late game); kimari, like two times, auron, twice, wakka's twice, yuna's, rikku's but still no tidus's...... my team is yuna, tidus and wakka, mostly.... cant kill him without magus sisters howver, thats why the weapons are ramdomized BUT it is worth because of the sp defense spheres
This is unfortunately true! You'll apparently have greater chances of getting the weapon you need if that character is present for the kill. If you manage to get Wakka's or Tidus' celestial weapon, killing One-Eye will be a complete joke especially once you get some additional strength on your grid. Best of luck on the grind my friend, don't give up!
Hey! I'm not sure on the exact number after a fully completely a sphere grid, as I've never bothered to 100% max it beyond the most important stats you need. Most people I've seen hit 20-40k+, but it's going to be preference as health that high doesnt really matter when most of the hardest things in endgame either will or will not one shot you. Other than that, you can only go as high as 99,999 which is the maximum limit for HP and damage on players. Hope this helps!
Iirc Optimum stats is Mp 999 Str, def, m def, maic=255 Luck=255 Evasion= 60 Agil=170(no difference between 255 and 170 for tick speed) All this leaves you with 372 empty nodes, which you need 333 for 99999 hp, and you can use the other 39 for MP, which gives an extra 1560 mp, leaving you at 99999 hp 2559 mp 255 mag, str, m def, def 170 agil 60 Evasion 255 luck Acc doesn't matter crit overrides acc check Small edit: since luck affects evade also that is why it is so low, and at 255 luck and evade you are at max evade stats, and at 255 you always crit

I can imagine! Chocobo balloon minigame is definitely a must since Tidus' weapon is so good, but you can probably pass without getting Lulu's, doesn't make it any less annoying though for sure.
@@Veraliyum Yeah for end game / late game bosses you really only use Wakka, Rikku and Tidus and the occasional Aeon if you either want to tank a hit or use the cheese tactics of Zanmato. But when you just cast auto life on everyone, even if there is a wipe they still come back which essentially negates any fear of death as long as you can set it up and have the items ready with Rikku. At that point like you said, I would not even really bother with Lulu's celestial weapon only if it's a completionist thing is the only reason to go after it.
@@guthetanuki256 Full agree, Lulu is generally very underwhelming in the late game, as opposed to being very valuable and having black magic throughout the early game.
@@Veraliyum Only reason I can ever think of you would want to have Lulu during endgame portions is when you are facing Dark Magus Sisters separately and they may be hard to hit since their luck and evasion is really high. Also, one of them has low defense to magic but at that point, spamming Wakka overdrives might be a better option I think. Do you know what's the highest reasonable amount of Fury you can get with Lulu? I've only ever managed to get 8 but it stops at halfway leading me to believe there maybe a way to have more than that.
@@guthetanuki256 I think the only positive about magic is Flare and Ultima being capable of hitting 99k ,assuming you have the magic boosts, for double cast on some endgame bosses.
How about in 2020 people still like this. Just bought it for my PS4. Still strange you get that many AP without defeating the Tonberry. Never knew that.

I've never had Don Tonberry appear in a fight. Where is the best place for him to appear and is there anything I can equip or get to make him appear faster? I've already beaten the game but I beat it very very weak in comparison to how I could have. (I.E I used a lot of Phoenix downs healing magic and health potions) any help in getting access to him to fight him like you are is GREATLY appreciated 😁
Hey there! I should mention a few things; First off, the Don Tonberry that is being fought in this video is unlocked as an Area Conquest boss, and you will have to capture one of each fiend within the Cavern of The Stolen Fayth. The next best step I can give you in order to straight up farm it, is if you can, have one or both of your side characters with Auto-phoenix on your gear. This will GREATLY facilitate this process and make AP farming a joke. The best thing about this trick, is that you do not need good gear literally at all! The reason why this works is because your main character (Tidus for me in this case) has the MOST monster kills in the game. When Don T attacks using Karma (which is always on the person who hits him) the game calculates how many monsters you've killed, and multiplies that by 100, and that's how much damage you take. So it's important to get in there and see which one of your main party members will take the most damage, and have them setup like how I do in the video. :) Lastly, you can customize Auto-phoenix onto your gear with 20 Mega Phoenix's, and you can get these by bribing a Ghost from the Cavern of The Stolen Fayth yet again, to get around 30+. Hope this helps and check in if you need anymore advice!

I just got to that spot and im barely starting to capture one eyes, i havent had the ability to travel on the safe sphere so im a little lost, do i unlock the ability to travel later in the game ?
Omega Ruins is an amazing place and possibly the best area to grind in to get big ap prior to taking on the monster arena. I'd highly recommend before doing that, that you acquire Auron's celestial weapon or else Bad Breath will one-shot your entire party and you'd lose a ton of progress because there's only one save point.
Don't even need omega ruins tbh... Catch every monster from few areas till you get 99 door's to Tomorrowland which gives you Overdrive to AP, do some don tonbery or go to dark ixion with auto phoenix (also from Monster arena) and get tons of ap. Then have Yuna go to auron or tidus sohere grid to get some strength then use anima Overdrive oneshot everything. With Yuna having something like 20 str, anima gets 100+ str which should be more than enough to destroy one eye. My Yuna is currently at 56 strength and anima is 255 strength... One overdrive on one eye and boom 1.3m damage XD. Seriously, on a normal playthrough, have Yuna go to another grid with strength instead of magic is waaay much better(get airship, get anima and he solo story boss). Yuna's healing are shit useless anyways because you get tons of potions that heals 2000 to everyone just following the main game. I had 80 of them by the time I was at sinh battle.
This one also works really well. Get Magus Sisters and/or Anima, both aeons hit like trucks, and make sure you’ve got First Strike on one of your staring members. Depending on how your agility is, you can cycle through them for exp before switching to Yuna. Once you’re up to your last turn, switch to Yuna and summon. It’s better if you either Grand Summon or already have Anima in overdrive if you that’s your route. If you have Magus Sisters, it really doesn’t matter. I started moving Yuna through Tidus’ sphere grid, and Sandy, the tall skinny one, does 99,999 damage on both her attacks. I do have Yuma’s Celestial Weapon maxed out, so I’m not sure if that’s a pre-req for breaking the HP damage limit, but her sigil is pretty easy to get regardless. Other than that, it’s a safe way to grind for those triple AP weapons.
@@bdgrey same thing I did, other than yuna's when down to lulu's grid. Once lulu got to flare spell, I used a friend sphere and sent yuna there. She got all -ga spells and doublecast. In addition with nirvana, she become super overpowered. Then it is up to you where to follow but I choosed rikku's so she can get more agilty. Awalys like mages on RPG and she is very useful with 1mp cast that nirvana provides. Every aeon become really powerfull the more you use yuna and the first arena monsters you can only take down relying on them
Did you check to make sure that they both have weapons that give Overdrive to AP? Even if they're set to comrade they won't actually be getting AP if the weapons don't have that conversion

Absolutely! Was the first time I tried it myself even. Most bugs/tricks will have a much higher likelihood of working on older versions of the game, as opposed to steam and newer version, since such an old generation cannot be patched like todays games are. Enjoy!
So to get ap fast you need to hunt down the difficult to obtain items which you need to steal from hundreds of fiends to create a weapon to level up your characters to a point that they would be able to do what was needed to create the weapon? Is that correct?
Not quite, you can begin AP farming as early as getting the Airship unlocked. The only real caveat to this is that you need to be able to kill One-Eye before he kills you, which early on can prove difficult if you don't have atleast Auron's celestial weapon (for first strike), Anima with Oblivion ready (to kill it in one turn), or Wakka's attack reels which in my opinion is the most annoying to get out of the 3. The reason you want to be able to kill One-Eye easily is because it has a chance to drop a Triple AP weapon with empty slots which early on is a godsend. By the time you are able to farm AP as mentioned in the video, there is still a TON of content that actually requires you to have insanely high stats (Dark Aeons, Superbosses, Penance) so it's most definitely not a waste. Basically as long as you're able to acquire a Triple AP weapon from killing One-Eye, and have Door to Tomorrow (which is very easy to get), you're set to make a weapon that can start you up on this method, and make subsequent attempts and leveling even easier once you can get weapons with Triple Ap, Overdrive to AP, and Triple Overdrive.

I'm inclined to agree, there is a really strange curve where everything rapidly accelerates once you start exploiting Don. Typically if you aim for this immediately post end-game, you can take advantage of it when you start downing dark aeons/super bosses etc. This is mostly for people who want to hit that point or for those perfectionists who want a perfect sphere grid, which in my opinion, is VERY annoying to do. :/
This makes me actually want to play final fantasy X again, but then I remember I'd have to go through everything before Zanarkand again. The last time I played through this game I didn't make it past Seymour flux. But that was also because the tutorial for the sphere grid is garbage.
Imo the game really begins once you get the airship and pre-Sin phase. Mostly due to the celestial weapons, dark aeons, and monster arena. Definitely worth a replay

I tried to be max out all the stats but it turns out I cant. I also cant get all the character 99999 without sacrifice some stats. So I decided to put main stats 255 the rest acc,eva,luc and agi stat range around 150 to 210. While my hp only around 70k
That actually sucks, especially since some characters have higher or lower base stat values. You should be able to max out each stat 255, 210 Luck probably, but with 9999HP. Have you tried maxing without going past 9999k yet?
Dont know if you look up online and utilized this yet but a LOT of the nodes on the sphere grid are... OK boosts, but individually getting hp spheres, magic spheres, luck spheres etc they are actually wayy more powerful then what comes standard
@@kelvinkhoo98 thats the great thing. It doesnt require starting over, you can farm everything you need and clear already activated nodes and replace him with monster arena drops. Doesn't matter now if you're not that concerned with truly nax stats
Hello! The reasoning behind it is that, the amount of AP you get from one character on Stoic, and two characters on Comrade, is far greater than the AP gain you would have with three on Comrade. The damage taken conversion increment gives more value from Stoic, since one single character gets hit with the massive attack from Tonberry only. Compare this to the value gain on Comrade which is Damage received × 20 / Target's Max HP, while Stoic is Damage received × 30 / Max HP, stoic is the better option here for this method after Triple AP, Triple Overdrive, and Overdrive to AP conversions. @@rishikaushik8307 Comrade doesnt proc on attacking, it procs on taking damage, and still one character is taking damage at any time (Tonberry attacks the person who attacks him, and you want whoever has the most kills), you still get more with Stoic on the person who is getting attacked. If all three are on Comrade, you dont get as much as you would compared to one person taking all hits on Stoic. You can try it yourself, it's really the best method for this setup
Essentially right after you get the Airship! I highly recommend getting Tidus' and/or Auron's celestial weapon to make killing one eye way easier, otherwise it's gonna take a while to kill him and he has a high chance to oneshot you on his first turn. Once you get Triple AP/Overdrive/Overdrive to AP weapons, you're set to farm Don Tonberry as much as you want.
I can't even do the celestial weapons or Anima or anything. I still need ot open chests fro Anima, but I can't get into Besaid because of the Dark Aeon. Then I can't finish Tidus's celestial weapon because the dark Aeon of Bahamut is in the way at the place where I fought Yunalesca. I'm just straight caught in the middle of everything, This was the last resort for me to try & do.
That is quite annoying honestly, best thing I can say to do is farm up to get stronger, but you can also still get Auron's celestial weapon without fighting any dark aeons I believe, and there's still Wakka if you feel like grinding out a bunch of blitzball :p
Fight One Eye in monster arena. It drops Triple AP weapons. Not just for Tidus, but for every character. Drop weapon is random, but Triple AP is always on it.
Let me ask u something so ur doing this tutorial at max stats already like everyone's going to be at that point before sin. So my question is, is there a way to farm AP/gill as soon as you get the airship cause idk I like to be at max before I ever get to the last boss. Dont get me wrong the vid is complete success in explaining the trick but I'm no where near your point in stats.
Hey! Fair question, the good thing about this strategy is that you actually CAN do this as soon as you get the Airship because the whole game essentially becomes unlocked. Trust me, you don't need max stats or even anywhere close to be able to do this trick, you don't even need break damage limit although it helps alot. All you really need in order to do it easily are some celestial weapons, namely Tidus and Auron which are very easy to get. The next best way to farm AP/gil would be killing enemies at Omega Ruins, and farming mimics in Omega Ruins for gil, which I have a video on. You can still easily do this trick without celestial weapons, you can use Yuna's aeons overdrives to kill One-Eye to get the items you need to craft the weapon to abuse this trick, it's just easier once you have that extra power from celestial weapons. If you still want to be purely maxed out on stats before the true final boss, be aware that it actually does take a long time even for a single character to be maxed out, and you will have to farm separate creatures in the monster arena for Strength spheres, Defense spheres, etc. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're going to kill Dark Aeons, and Penance because then you will definitely need close to maxed out stats in every area.

Hey! Do check again to make sure that your middle character's overdrive style is set to Stoic (the only one that should be taking damage), and the two side characters are set to comrade. Also check and make sure that you have overdrive to ap on their weapons so that way you get the AP conversion from your middle character getting hit. Hope this helps!
@@Veraliyum thanks for the reply. I have my ap weapons on and the style set, but when i flee it says no ap and no items. This always happens when i flee battles, not just in the monster arena.

You can farm up alot of various spheres by killing specific monster creations in the Monster Arena! For example, Fenrir the lupine-type monster creation drops Agility Spheres, whereas Hornet drops Agility. Each of the specific monster creations all have a unique sphere drop.
the thing is how should I level up. Every video I see everyone is maxed out and tell me to farm triple ap weapons. I cant even kill one eye so how should I farm it? Where do you grind till your chars are that high
Hey! The pre-grind usually begins after you get the Airship, and the best place hands down is Omega Ruins if you can afford to not die in there. The monsters give absurd amounts of AP for that point in the game. You can farm right next to the save sphere at the beginning of the dungeon, just beware that Great Malboro ALWAYS ambushes and will use Bad Breath, and you will most likely die unless someone on your team has Ribbon effect and/or First Strike to ensure that you can run from the encounter, or kill it in one turn.
@@Sui1337 No problem. The enemies are strong but they give tons of AP. If they happen to be too strong, you can just freely farm inside Sin and then move onto Omega Ruins. Goodluck!
@@Sui1337 You don't need super high AP levels to be able to stomp out one-eye, realistically speaking, you just need to be able to kill him before he uses Shockwave which will likely kill your party in one hit, or massively damage you. I highly recommend using Wakka's attack reels, an Aeon overdrive(s), or just running him down with your party Hasted, and using Quick Hit. Small cheesy note for Yuna; her Aeons get bonuses based off her own base stats, so if you want to go with the Aeon overdrive method, try and get as much STR on Yuna as possible. This will allow your Aeons to hit stupidly hard, since Yuna doesn't normally get STR in her grid, this is often overlooked but helps alot if you want strong Aeons. The Aeons I recommend for killing One-Eye would be Anima, Magus Sisters, or Bahamut. You can also fight him normally, and call out an Aeon when it's his turn to attack and sacrifice them to eat his Shockwave.
I fucked up and got impatient and used some of my 99 wings on AP>Overdrive on bad weapons just to try it out, any reliable way to get them back? Finished all fiend captures so that's not an option
No worries! If you beat the Chocobo trial races (the one at the temple) you get 30 upfront, alternatively, you can bribe Malboro for about 675,000 gil for 4 of them.

@@jahnbirriel4709 Apparently you can bribe Mech Leader in Mt. Gagazet for 74,000 gil, or Mech Scouter for 55.000 gil. The mech leader has a chance to give 2, the scouter has a chance to give 1.
They can be annoying for sure! My best advice is start with Tidus (even though the chocobo race is annoying his is still relatively easy to get), then get Auron's since all you have to do realistically is capture fiends, and the rest are up to you. I don't recommend going for Lulu's at all, ever, unless you're a completionist since she's arguably the worst character next to Kimahri. Wakka's attack reels and celestial weapon are the strongest things in game, but blitzball is a pain in the ass so be ready for the grind.

The arena is off to the side alcove within the Calm Lands, and the map locations for the eye-ball monsters are listed within the description of the video :) You should have them automatically unlocked after you get the airship by the time you get to this point in the game. @@jesusaguilera1981 You get the Airship after the "boss" in Zanarkand, and then you should be able to travel back to the Calm Lands and anywhere else you need to get the rest of the species creation done for One-Eye. Basically once you get the Airship you can go wherever you want and get triple ap gear and etc
chrisellersagangsta It's not 100% mandatory but I'd highly, highly recommend it. Since all of your overdrive gets converted into AP, triple overdrive will mean you're getting AP 3x as fast which is huge.
Thunder Phenom Age old debate, Cactuar King also uses 10000 needles which dramatically decreases AP gained compared to Tonberry's Karma. The King also runs away which leads to more time spent creating another encounter.
no, wit cactaur you set up the overdrive ap, stuff and set everyone to overdrive comerade, you do not need to finish the battle even. just let him pummel your team fro about 5-10 minutes then you can flee and reap the rewards of breaking the grid
Thunder Phenom That's the exact same way you do it with Don Tonberry, one Stoic and two Comrade, except Don consistently hits harder on your main character as opposed to Cactuars 10k damage intervals. This results in more AP gains because damage taken gets converted to overdrive, and the comrade teammates in turn get more. You can also flee whenever you want as well, it doesn't require you to finish the battle.
Thunder Phenom If you ever mess around with how much Overdrive you get with one character on Stoic, you get WAY more AP in total. The two comrade characters also get way more. It's just the way the damage to overdrive ratio is calculated, which is why typically in a normal run you'd have most of everyone on Stoic because it gives the most overdrive meter out of every mode aside from maybe one other, you can test it yourself. More damage dealt to you = more AP gained, Stoic = highest overdrive gained per point of damage, and considering Overdrive > AP conversion on weapons, it's best to have auto phoenix and auto haste on everyone and have your main character eat the Karma attack. Try it for yourself and you'll see how much more efficient it is.
an easy way to defeat it at low level is - ensure yuna has at least 40 strength, get the magus sisters and equip yuna with a weapon that has the first strike ability. have yuna in the party. as soon as the fight starts, summon the magus sisters. as long as yuna has 40+ strength the magus sisters will hit for 99999 damage per hit.

On the Nintendo switch the chocobo chaser and the 200 lightning bolt mini games are infuriating, cant believe its a must for celestial weapon
I can imagine! Chocobo balloon minigame is definitely a must since Tidus' weapon is so good, but you can probably pass without getting Lulu's, doesn't make it any less annoying though for sure.
@@Veraliyum Yeah for end game / late game bosses you really only use Wakka, Rikku and Tidus and the occasional Aeon if you either want to tank a hit or use the cheese tactics of Zanmato.
But when you just cast auto life on everyone, even if there is a wipe they still come back which essentially negates any fear of death as long as you can set it up and have the items ready with Rikku.
At that point like you said, I would not even really bother with Lulu's celestial weapon only if it's a completionist thing is the only reason to go after it.
@@guthetanuki256 Full agree, Lulu is generally very underwhelming in the late game, as opposed to being very valuable and having black magic throughout the early game.
@@Veraliyum Only reason I can ever think of you would want to have Lulu during endgame portions is when you are facing Dark Magus Sisters separately and they may be hard to hit since their luck and evasion is really high. Also, one of them has low defense to magic but at that point, spamming Wakka overdrives might be a better option I think.
Do you know what's the highest reasonable amount of Fury you can get with Lulu? I've only ever managed to get 8 but it stops at halfway leading me to believe there maybe a way to have more than that.
@@guthetanuki256 I think the only positive about magic is Flare and Ultima being capable of hitting 99k ,assuming you have the magic boosts, for double cast on some endgame bosses.

I've never had Don Tonberry appear in a fight. Where is the best place for him to appear and is there anything I can equip or get to make him appear faster? I've already beaten the game but I beat it very very weak in comparison to how I could have. (I.E I used a lot of Phoenix downs healing magic and health potions) any help in getting access to him to fight him like you are is GREATLY appreciated 😁
Hey there! I should mention a few things; First off, the Don Tonberry that is being fought in this video is unlocked as an Area Conquest boss, and you will have to capture one of each fiend within the Cavern of The Stolen Fayth. The next best step I can give you in order to straight up farm it, is if you can, have one or both of your side characters with Auto-phoenix on your gear. This will GREATLY facilitate this process and make AP farming a joke.
The best thing about this trick, is that you do not need good gear literally at all! The reason why this works is because your main character (Tidus for me in this case) has the MOST monster kills in the game. When Don T attacks using Karma (which is always on the person who hits him) the game calculates how many monsters you've killed, and multiplies that by 100, and that's how much damage you take. So it's important to get in there and see which one of your main party members will take the most damage, and have them setup like how I do in the video. :)
Lastly, you can customize Auto-phoenix onto your gear with 20 Mega Phoenix's, and you can get these by bribing a Ghost from the Cavern of The Stolen Fayth yet again, to get around 30+. Hope this helps and check in if you need anymore advice!

I just got to that spot and im barely starting to capture one eyes, i havent had the ability to travel on the safe sphere so im a little lost, do i unlock the ability to travel later in the game ?
Of course! You get the Airship a bit later after Zanarkand, and then you can easily farm all the creatures including the ones to get One-Eye.

Now to make a video different from others. Where do you go to get ap to take out One eye?
Omega Ruins is an amazing place and possibly the best area to grind in to get big ap prior to taking on the monster arena. I'd highly recommend before doing that, that you acquire Auron's celestial weapon or else Bad Breath will one-shot your entire party and you'd lose a ton of progress because there's only one save point.
Don't even need omega ruins tbh... Catch every monster from few areas till you get 99 door's to Tomorrowland which gives you Overdrive to AP, do some don tonbery or go to dark ixion with auto phoenix (also from Monster arena) and get tons of ap. Then have Yuna go to auron or tidus sohere grid to get some strength then use anima Overdrive oneshot everything. With Yuna having something like 20 str, anima gets 100+ str which should be more than enough to destroy one eye.
My Yuna is currently at 56 strength and anima is 255 strength... One overdrive on one eye and boom 1.3m damage XD. Seriously, on a normal playthrough, have Yuna go to another grid with strength instead of magic is waaay much better(get airship, get anima and he solo story boss). Yuna's healing are shit useless anyways because you get tons of potions that heals 2000 to everyone just following the main game. I had 80 of them by the time I was at sinh battle.
This one also works really well. Get Magus Sisters and/or Anima, both aeons hit like trucks, and make sure you’ve got First Strike on one of your staring members. Depending on how your agility is, you can cycle through them for exp before switching to Yuna. Once you’re up to your last turn, switch to Yuna and summon.
It’s better if you either Grand Summon or already have Anima in overdrive if you that’s your route. If you have Magus Sisters, it really doesn’t matter. I started moving Yuna through Tidus’ sphere grid, and Sandy, the tall skinny one, does 99,999 damage on both her attacks. I do have Yuma’s Celestial Weapon maxed out, so I’m not sure if that’s a pre-req for breaking the HP damage limit, but her sigil is pretty easy to get regardless.
Other than that, it’s a safe way to grind for those triple AP weapons.
@@bdgrey same thing I did, other than yuna's when down to lulu's grid. Once lulu got to flare spell, I used a friend sphere and sent yuna there. She got all -ga spells and doublecast. In addition with nirvana, she become super overpowered. Then it is up to you where to follow but I choosed rikku's so she can get more agilty. Awalys like mages on RPG and she is very useful with 1mp cast that nirvana provides. Every aeon become really powerfull the more you use yuna and the first arena monsters you can only take down relying on them
I'm doing this, and my attacking character is getting exp but my 2 other characters are not. I made sure to set their overdrives correctly
Did you check to make sure that they both have weapons that give Overdrive to AP? Even if they're set to comrade they won't actually be getting AP if the weapons don't have that conversion

Absolutely! Was the first time I tried it myself even. Most bugs/tricks will have a much higher likelihood of working on older versions of the game, as opposed to steam and newer version, since such an old generation cannot be patched like todays games are. Enjoy!
So to get ap fast you need to hunt down the difficult to obtain items which you need to steal from hundreds of fiends to create a weapon to level up your characters to a point that they would be able to do what was needed to create the weapon? Is that correct?
Not quite, you can begin AP farming as early as getting the Airship unlocked. The only real caveat to this is that you need to be able to kill One-Eye before he kills you, which early on can prove difficult if you don't have atleast Auron's celestial weapon (for first strike), Anima with Oblivion ready (to kill it in one turn), or Wakka's attack reels which in my opinion is the most annoying to get out of the 3. The reason you want to be able to kill One-Eye easily is because it has a chance to drop a Triple AP weapon with empty slots which early on is a godsend. By the time you are able to farm AP as mentioned in the video, there is still a TON of content that actually requires you to have insanely high stats (Dark Aeons, Superbosses, Penance) so it's most definitely not a waste.
Basically as long as you're able to acquire a Triple AP weapon from killing One-Eye, and have Door to Tomorrow (which is very easy to get), you're set to make a weapon that can start you up on this method, and make subsequent attempts and leveling even easier once you can get weapons with Triple Ap, Overdrive to AP, and Triple Overdrive.
What does it take to get break damage limit?
You have to customize your weapons using 60 Dark Matter per weapon!

Sadly you always tend to get those super good farming items way way way too late when you don't need it anymore.
I'm inclined to agree, there is a really strange curve where everything rapidly accelerates once you start exploiting Don. Typically if you aim for this immediately post end-game, you can take advantage of it when you start downing dark aeons/super bosses etc. This is mostly for people who want to hit that point or for those perfectionists who want a perfect sphere grid, which in my opinion, is VERY annoying to do. :/

Imo the game really begins once you get the airship and pre-Sin phase. Mostly due to the celestial weapons, dark aeons, and monster arena. Definitely worth a replay

Final fantasy X never really clicked with me, so I didn't enjoy it much the first time I played it and I hated it at the time.
My view on it has softened over the past 20 or so years, so I don't outright hate it anymore, but I still don't like it all that much.

I tried to be max out all the stats but it turns out I cant. I also cant get all the character 99999 without sacrifice some stats. So I decided to put main stats 255 the rest acc,eva,luc and agi stat range around 150 to 210. While my hp only around 70k
That actually sucks, especially since some characters have higher or lower base stat values. You should be able to max out each stat 255, 210 Luck probably, but with 9999HP. Have you tried maxing without going past 9999k yet?
Dont know if you look up online and utilized this yet but a LOT of the nodes on the sphere grid are... OK boosts, but individually getting hp spheres, magic spheres, luck spheres etc they are actually wayy more powerful then what comes standard

Hello! The reasoning behind it is that, the amount of AP you get from one character on Stoic, and two characters on Comrade, is far greater than the AP gain you would have with three on Comrade. The damage taken conversion increment gives more value from Stoic, since one single character gets hit with the massive attack from Tonberry only. Compare this to the value gain on Comrade which is Damage received × 20 / Target's Max HP, while Stoic is Damage received × 30 / Max HP, stoic is the better option here for this method after Triple AP, Triple Overdrive, and Overdrive to AP conversions.

@@rishikaushik8307 Comrade doesnt proc on attacking, it procs on taking damage, and still one character is taking damage at any time (Tonberry attacks the person who attacks him, and you want whoever has the most kills), you still get more with Stoic on the person who is getting attacked. If all three are on Comrade, you dont get as much as you would compared to one person taking all hits on Stoic.
You can try it yourself, it's really the best method for this setup

Essentially right after you get the Airship! I highly recommend getting Tidus' and/or Auron's celestial weapon to make killing one eye way easier, otherwise it's gonna take a while to kill him and he has a high chance to oneshot you on his first turn. Once you get Triple AP/Overdrive/Overdrive to AP weapons, you're set to farm Don Tonberry as much as you want.

I can't even do the celestial weapons or Anima or anything. I still need ot open chests fro Anima, but I can't get into Besaid because of the Dark Aeon. Then I can't finish Tidus's celestial weapon because the dark Aeon of Bahamut is in the way at the place where I fought Yunalesca. I'm just straight caught in the middle of everything, This was the last resort for me to try & do.
That is quite annoying honestly, best thing I can say to do is farm up to get stronger, but you can also still get Auron's celestial weapon without fighting any dark aeons I believe, and there's still Wakka if you feel like grinding out a bunch of blitzball :p

How do you get the triple AP weapons?
Fight One Eye in monster arena. It drops Triple AP weapons. Not just for Tidus, but for every character. Drop weapon is random, but Triple AP is always on it.

Let me ask u something so ur doing this tutorial at max stats already like everyone's going to be at that point before sin. So my question is, is there a way to farm AP/gill as soon as you get the airship cause idk I like to be at max before I ever get to the last boss. Dont get me wrong the vid is complete success in explaining the trick but I'm no where near your point in stats.
Hey! Fair question, the good thing about this strategy is that you actually CAN do this as soon as you get the Airship because the whole game essentially becomes unlocked. Trust me, you don't need max stats or even anywhere close to be able to do this trick, you don't even need break damage limit although it helps alot. All you really need in order to do it easily are some celestial weapons, namely Tidus and Auron which are very easy to get. The next best way to farm AP/gil would be killing enemies at Omega Ruins, and farming mimics in Omega Ruins for gil, which I have a video on. You can still easily do this trick without celestial weapons, you can use Yuna's aeons overdrives to kill One-Eye to get the items you need to craft the weapon to abuse this trick, it's just easier once you have that extra power from celestial weapons.
If you still want to be purely maxed out on stats before the true final boss, be aware that it actually does take a long time even for a single character to be maxed out, and you will have to farm separate creatures in the monster arena for Strength spheres, Defense spheres, etc. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're going to kill Dark Aeons, and Penance because then you will definitely need close to maxed out stats in every area.

Hey! Do check again to make sure that your middle character's overdrive style is set to Stoic (the only one that should be taking damage), and the two side characters are set to comrade. Also check and make sure that you have overdrive to ap on their weapons so that way you get the AP conversion from your middle character getting hit.

You can farm up alot of various spheres by killing specific monster creations in the Monster Arena! For example, Fenrir the lupine-type monster creation drops Agility Spheres, whereas Hornet drops Agility. Each of the specific monster creations all have a unique sphere drop.

Hey! The pre-grind usually begins after you get the Airship, and the best place hands down is Omega Ruins if you can afford to not die in there. The monsters give absurd amounts of AP for that point in the game. You can farm right next to the save sphere at the beginning of the dungeon, just beware that Great Malboro ALWAYS ambushes and will use Bad Breath, and you will most likely die unless someone on your team has Ribbon effect and/or First Strike to ensure that you can run from the encounter, or kill it in one turn.

@@Sui1337 No problem. The enemies are strong but they give tons of AP. If they happen to be too strong, you can just freely farm inside Sin and then move onto Omega Ruins. Goodluck!

@@Sui1337 You don't need super high AP levels to be able to stomp out one-eye, realistically speaking, you just need to be able to kill him before he uses Shockwave which will likely kill your party in one hit, or massively damage you. I highly recommend using Wakka's attack reels, an Aeon overdrive(s), or just running him down with your party Hasted, and using Quick Hit.
Small cheesy note for Yuna; her Aeons get bonuses based off her own base stats, so if you want to go with the Aeon overdrive method, try and get as much STR on Yuna as possible. This will allow your Aeons to hit stupidly hard, since Yuna doesn't normally get STR in her grid, this is often overlooked but helps alot if you want strong Aeons. The Aeons I recommend for killing One-Eye would be Anima, Magus Sisters, or Bahamut. You can also fight him normally, and call out an Aeon when it's his turn to attack and sacrifice them to eat his Shockwave.
I fucked up and got impatient and used some of my 99 wings on AP>Overdrive on bad weapons just to try it out, any reliable way to get them back? Finished all fiend captures so that's not an option
No worries! If you beat the Chocobo trial races (the one at the temple) you get 30 upfront, alternatively, you can bribe Malboro for about 675,000 gil for 4 of them.
Also killing Shinryu gives 1, and overkill gives 2 I believe!

@@jahnbirriel4709 Apparently you can bribe Mech Leader in Mt. Gagazet for 74,000 gil, or Mech Scouter for 55.000 gil. The mech leader has a chance to give 2, the scouter has a chance to give 1.
Im beyond frustated cause i cant for the life of me do the chalenges to get the celestial weapons
They can be annoying for sure! My best advice is start with Tidus (even though the chocobo race is annoying his is still relatively easy to get), then get Auron's since all you have to do realistically is capture fiends, and the rest are up to you. I don't recommend going for Lulu's at all, ever, unless you're a completionist since she's arguably the worst character next to Kimahri. Wakka's attack reels and celestial weapon are the strongest things in game, but blitzball is a pain in the ass so be ready for the grind.

The arena is off to the side alcove within the Calm Lands, and the map locations for the eye-ball monsters are listed within the description of the video :) You should have them automatically unlocked after you get the airship by the time you get to this point in the game. chrisellersagangsta It's not 100% mandatory but I'd highly, highly recommend it. Since all of your overdrive gets converted into AP, triple overdrive will mean you're getting AP 3x as fast which is huge.

Thunder Phenom Age old debate, Cactuar King also uses 10000 needles which dramatically decreases AP gained compared to Tonberry's Karma. The King also runs away which leads to more time spent creating another encounter.
no, wit cactaur you set up the overdrive ap, stuff and set everyone to overdrive comerade, you do not need to finish the battle even. just let him pummel your team fro about 5-10 minutes then you can flee and reap the rewards of breaking the grid
Thunder Phenom That's the exact same way you do it with Don Tonberry, one Stoic and two Comrade, except Don consistently hits harder on your main character as opposed to Cactuars 10k damage intervals. This results in more AP gains because damage taken gets converted to overdrive, and the comrade teammates in turn get more. You can also flee whenever you want as well, it doesn't require you to finish the battle.
i never set anyone to stoic, just all on comrade.
Thunder Phenom If you ever mess around with how much Overdrive you get with one character on Stoic, you get WAY more AP in total. The two comrade characters also get way more. It's just the way the damage to overdrive ratio is calculated, which is why typically in a normal run you'd have most of everyone on Stoic because it gives the most overdrive meter out of every mode aside from maybe one other, you can test it yourself. More damage dealt to you = more AP gained, Stoic = highest overdrive gained per point of damage, and considering Overdrive > AP conversion on weapons, it's best to have auto phoenix and auto haste on everyone and have your main character eat the Karma attack. Try it for yourself and you'll see how much more efficient it is.
an easy way to defeat it at low level is - ensure yuna has at least 40 strength, get the magus sisters and equip yuna with a weapon that has the first strike ability. have yuna in the party. as soon as the fight starts, summon the magus sisters. as long as yuna has 40+ strength the magus sisters will hit for 99999 damage per hit.
