  • 👉 Deep transverse friction massage is a therapeutic technique that aids in the treatment of golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis) and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis).
👉 The massage involves applying deep, crosswise pressure to the affected tendons and muscles, breaking down adhesions and scar tissue, increasing blood flow, and promoting natural healing.
👉 Deep transverse friction massage should be combined with rest, ice, and rehabilitation exercises.
Deep transverse friction massage is a highly effective therapeutic technique that can provide relief and aid in the treatment of conditions like golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis) and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis). By targeting the affected tendons and muscles, deep transverse friction massage promotes healing, reduces pain, and enhances overall functional recovery. During the procedure, a trained therapist applies deep, crosswise pressure to the injured tissue, which helps break down adhesions and scar tissue, increases blood flow, and encourages the body's natural repair mechanisms.
For individuals suffering from golfer's elbow, deep transverse friction massage can focus on the inner forearm muscles connected to the medial epicondyle of the elbow. By stimulating blood circulation and reducing inflammation, this technique helps alleviate pain and tenderness while accelerating the healing process. Similarly, for those experiencing tennis elbow, the therapist targets the outer forearm muscles attached to the lateral epicondyle. This treatment reduces the strain on the injured tendons, promotes tissue regeneration, and eases discomfort caused by overuse or repetitive movements.
The application of deep transverse friction massage should be combined with proper rest, ice, and rehabilitation exercises for optimal results.

The warm up was okay, although I always treat muscles origin to insertion.

Thanks for sharing your approach! Treating muscles from origin to insertion can be very effective. Keep up the great work! 💪😊

Up not down from insertion point?

Just a legitimate question not a critique.

Massage is not really helpful for tennis elbow. Those tendons are inflamed and if you touch them, you will get slapped! Rest and anti-inflammatories.
