  • This is an installation of a GM Serpentine Belt Drive system from a 88-92 V-8 Camaro to an early SBC V-8 engine. This process should be similar for most SBC V-8 applications.

    Thanks for the video. I have a question, which compressor lines did you use? The Roadmaster or the Cutlass or some other one and why? Thanks again

      I ended up using the hoses from the Buick Roadmaster. They fit better around the wheel well than the Cutlass hoses.

    Im in the process of doing this conversion on my 87 iroc! Outside of the brackets, did you use the 2 braces that are used from factory!? If so, could you send me a pic of where you mounted them! Thanks for the very informative video!

      There are actually 3 braces that are used on the factory setup. You can see a pic of them at the beginning of the video where all the parts are laid out on the workbench. I only used 2 of them. The one that goes from one of the A/C bracket mounting point to the exhaust manifold, in my case the headers , on the passenger side of the engine. The other brace goes from the other mounting point behind the A/C bracket to the front of the intake manifold. If you look closely around the 24:35 minute mark, you should see both. Otherwise give me your email address and I'll get you some better pics of the brackets. Thanks for your comment.

    Ive gotten my brackets mounted, thankfully all holes were drilled and tapped! What thermo housing and upper hose did you use?

      I used the same upper hose and housing and had no clearance issues.

    Greetings, thanks for your informative videos, my question is do you have the part #'s for the crankshaft pulley with the 6 rib and v-belt together along with the alternator and water pump pulleys. I'm wanting for my alternator to be ribbed belt while the power steering can stay V-belt...Thanks!

      Don't have the part numbers on these but I'm sure you can find that info at Gbodyforum.com or simply do a search on the internet. Thanks for your comment.

    Do you know if Will this serpentine system work on my 350 Chevy it has older heads with only one mounting bolt hole on passenger side.

      Yes, this will work on your 350 with modifications. You'll need to mount the bracket using existing bolt holes to use as a template/guide to drill the holes you need in the head. Then you can remove the bracket and tap it with the correct size tap. But be very careful not to drill too far into the head. A half inch deep hole should be more than enough. There are videos on this modifcation here on UA-cam. I would suggest watching several of these videos before you move forward with this install. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment.

    What the ac compressor come out of.?

      @g3garage  Рік тому +1

      The a/c compressor used on this install is a 88-92 Camaro compressor. I have recently modified my bracket to upgrade to a Sanden SD-7 compressor which is a better compressor all the way around. I have another video coming out on this soon. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment.
