  • So many cut-off wheels! I picked up these sweet trail gear beadlocks with 37s for pretty cheap and now its time to stuff them in the wheel wells!

    Body lifts are pretty easy on these 3rd gens just need a Steering shaft extension spacer and the body lift spacers

    i dig the videos. next time you do a tub job up front make sure to take both bumpstops off the LCA so you can cut to mechanical bind rather than bump. theres quite a bit of deflection going on when wheeling! it was a heffer with my 37s but it definitely saves the annoying rub sound on the trail

    I got 37 x 13.50 toyo MT to fit on my 3rd gen, had to do a he'll of alot more cutting as well as relocate both front body mounts (still havnt quite figured this part out yet lol) also my rear axel seems to be much further forward than yours as have to cut into me rear doors to make room for the tires at bump

    You dont have weld . Just get the inner piece as close to the body panel as you can and fill the gap with windshield urethane. It creates a solid bond between the two pieces and no damage to the body paint.

    What lift are you running? Did I miss you mentioning that? Offset to wheels? I bought a 3rd gen that “needed a new motor” and it ended up being a MAF and knock sensor. Got $1500 in it and absolutely want to go this route to keep it “cheaper” lol

  • @kbussche

    What mig wire / settings did you use for the rear? (I am terrible welding thin metal) I just got my 37 on, but since I have a solid axle the amount of cutting I had to do in the front was a lot less. The rear on the other hand needs some work.

    • @MechanicalAdventures
      @MechanicalAdventures  Рік тому +1

      My welder has a sort of guide for metal thickness/wire thickness. I don’t think the numbers would translate unless you had my exact welder, but I’m running .030 wire and almost the lowest settings possible. .030 is MUCH better than .035 for welding thin sheet metal like this.

    • @MechanicalAdventures

      Thanks my man! Pickup has 5.29s and dual stock 2.28 transfer cases with manual trans. 4runner will get 5.29s with one 2.28 trans case but automatic which should help. Both on 37s at the moment
