- This is it boys! Lets see if the budget build, clapped out 4Runner has what it takes to conquer the Rubicon! We met up with a bunch of buddies and had one of the best trips yet. Spoiler alert, the 4Runner CRUSHED it! I couldn't be happier with how it perform. That gives me extra motivation to keep pushing with this project knowing that from this point forward I can take it to the Rubicon and have an awesome relaxing weekend.

I also drive a 1998 Toyota 4runner, abt to put it on 35s at 17 hoping to get her all fixed up by senior year
good call on skipping the front locker, especially with 37's. That would be a recipe for grenading front CV axles. Had a 95 4cyl 4x4 pickup (hilux) with 3" lift and 33's with front and rear lockers and I destroyed so many out CV joints when rock crawling. Did the Rubicon a few times with it.
My tundra was triple locked on 5.29s and with 37s I was blowing steering racks every few months after I added my front locker. Bought a 3rd gen runner to build and I’ll probably go locked rear and open front with a Marlin crawl box in this runner
Shit...at least you got 37s... i ran my 86, stock ifs on 31s, no lockers or armor to buck n back...I had no doubt that beast would make it...awesome!!!

No spare, I have a decent amount to tire repair stuff and a spare is so heavy

Yessir! All stock drivetrain with 310,000 miles on it as well as stock CV axles and stock ball joints ☺️
