Oh my Mari, this looks absolutely delicious 😋!!! Unfortunately, where I live, the supermarket here does not sell Caribbean products or produce… 😢 I’m am dying to make your sofrito but they don’t sell cilantro 🌿 or culantro 😢 so hopefully as soon as I am able to go to a store that sells these goods, I’m stuck craving all your delicious videos!!! Thank you so much for sharing this yummy 😋 recipe! ❤
Years ago I had bacalao, unlike your style, which looks delicious, & I will be making! The dish I had, cod fish, potatoes & white rice all cooked separately with salt & a relish poured over the top.. made of thinly sliced red onions, diced tomatoes, fresh lemon juice, salt.. I think that’s all! I really enjoyed!
Good day Mari; thank you very much for the content, and for presentation of same; have never cooked bacalao, but planning on cooking this dish in the very near future; take care, and have a wonderful day.
Gracias, Mari!! I'm working on my cooking skills, and you (and Marta at Sense and Edibility) are my queens of PR cooking 🇵🇷 Like I cross-reference what it says in Cocina Criolla with how you do it 😅 I haven't yet tried guineos verdes in my bacalao guisado, so I'm looking forward to it! (Also, I made your arroz con gandules recipe for my dad at Christmas, and he said it was just as good as my abuela made it; unfortunately, I never had a chance to eat her food) If you are up to doing rellenos de papa, that's my next project so I'd love to see your tips :)
Awww thank you, Joshua for the lovely feedback! 🥹 I’m so glad you and your family are enjoying my recipes! I am definitely making a relleno de papas recipe over the Summer and I can’t wait! Feel free to suggest more recipes if you wish! ❤️🙏🏽
The green bananas are called ungased banana when they are green. You can ask your grocer for them that way. Unripe green bananas.
You can get green bananas or yellow bananas from the vegetable stands OR the supermarkets. You see them and don't have to ask for them.

Awwww you’re very welcome, and I hope you can grab some soon, too! 🙏🏽 Thank you!
Could you substitute flat leaf parsley instead of cilantro? I also buy Goya store bought softito.
@@patriciaelg1464 Cilantro and parsley have completely different flavor profiles, so unfortunately, no. Store bought Sofrito is fine!

Ok! So I’ve never boiled my saltfish. I’ve soaked it overnight changing the water ever two to three hours first.
Yummy
Watching your videos hungry, is a bad idea 😢
