New "pilot to be". Ordering the DJI mini 3 and have never flown. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate that you don't come across as a superior intellectual or as a hyped-up sales pitching tik tok er. Very helpful. I'll be looking to learn more from you. Thanks!
I took my drone to the Spring Mountains and launched it from a 10000 ft above sea level trail. It didn’t set the home point and I didn’t realise and flew it into the valley. Then I didn’t know where it was. I was looking on the screen and it was impossible to work out where I was stood due to the sheer scale of the majestic environment and all the mountain faces looked the same. I began panicking thinking I couldn’t get it back as I had no idea where to fly to back to me. Then I remembered I could set the home point as the controller. Phew I could follow the red line back. So wait for enough satellites and also learn how to set your home point as the controller- also if you move in flight you need to do this. Also to hand catch know you don’t use the land button but just continue pressing down.
10 mph or less is good to start. You don't neccessarily need "no wind", which is pretty rare almost everywhere in the world ;) Early in the morning, early evening, the wind is usually lighter.
Just got my Mini 3 Pro and I am loving it. I am not new to drones but wanted to discover features I may not know right off the bat. Great beginners guide, slow paced but very well thought out and presented. Honestly the best guide I have seen for a beginner. I am not familiar with your channel but subscribed because of your contribution to the drone community. Great work and have fun flying.
At the fifteen minute marker you have a reflection on the right side of the RC controller obscuring the screen making the excellent verbal instruction indiscernible. Otherwise a well narrated instructional video with a nice tempo and clear calm voice. Liked it and bookmarked it!
Thank you very much for the kind words and for the feedback. I noticed that glare during the editing I’ll have to be more cautious of that in the future
You might want to consider adjusting your overhead lighting to eliminate glare from the controller screen. Most of the important parts of the screen were blasted out.
After one month with my DJI Mini 3 pro sitting in the box, I finally got the confidence for the first flight. Thank you very much, Sir, much appreciated.

Great video! I learned a lot. I just got this as a gift from my son and I am excited to fly it. I am sure as a 72 year old man it is not going to be as easy as it is for the younger generation!
@@scottb010 Doing good. Thanks for asking. I must confess that I have not flown the drone as much as I would have liked. Thanks for this video. One quick question: At my first flight today, almost all of the crows in the area started making loud noises when I ascend so i panicked and landed the drone. Did anyone experience a bird attack to drone before, is it a thing, should I be woried about it? Thanks.
I tired flying in a harbor by my house one time and the seagulls were trying to have me for lunch. As long as you’re faster than them you should be ok. Lol. Go up, you will eventually lose them before you top out.
Your video on the right side of the controller has multiple lights blocking out the screen so we can’t see what information is showing when you click on the buttons.
Sorry but this hasn't helped one bit your not even showing the account set up I've tried following the instructions on controller to set up but it won't except my email or password it's proving to be a night seems simple but it isn't 👍

Do you watch your own videos? Starting around 15 minutes into the video there is a pattern of lights reflecting off the screen making it very hard to see what you are pointing at.
What kind of micro sd card you have for the drone and for the controller because I have the same drone in this video and am having issues with the memory is it because I only have a micro sd card in the drone and not one in the controller or what is it
Not having a charger included is so stupid. Opened ours Christmas morning and had no way to charge it. What kind of morons at DJI made this decision. Even a USB cord could be included.
I have so many USB cords and chargers around the house because everything used to come with them. I'm rather glad there was no charger, since I could use my existing phone chargers (2 plugged into the mains) or an iPad charger (another one plugged into the mains). There was a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. I did go out and buy a much more powerful charger just to speed up the charging. DJI are quite reasonable not including a charger, since a lot of people are like me and already have too many lying around
So if you are say 3m off the ground and select return to home is it going to automatically go up to the return to home altitude or just return to home at that altitude its currently at vs it deciding to return to home itself?
Hey. Great video but the background lamp that's visible on the right side of your controller display is very annoying, and covering what you're showing us. Otherwise, great video!!

Great video advice but your light is covering part of your screen can you please redo this part of your video so we can see what you are pointing to please. Keep up the great work
Do you watch your own videos? Starting around 15 minutes into the video there is a pattern of lights reflecting off the screen making it very hard to see what you are pointing at.
Indeed. I noticed that well editing but that point I couldn’t really do much about it, will watch for that in the future
Is there any way to shoot with the RAW photos and not JPG + RAW?
What kind of micro sd card you have for the drone and for the controller because I have the same drone in this video and am having issues with the memory is it because I only have a micro sd card in the drone and not one in the controller or what is it
Great job. The review is great for all levels of experience.
Thank you very much
Not having a charger included is so stupid.
Great video as always,Thanks for share.
this drone is amazing trust me had mine a few days
So if you are say 3m off the ground and select return to home is it going to automatically go up to the return to home altitude or just return to home at that altitude its currently at vs it deciding to return to home itself?
Thanks Air photography, this video has help me a lot.
Sorry to include it is a 128 GB V30 A2 SD
I have a DGIRC and would like to know what the holes are for on the bottom of the controller
So would this work if for some reason there were no satellites available?
Is dji mini 3 pro battery would work on a mini 3 it would be less fly time or more
Can you make your updates using a apple iPad or is it by a computer only?
Pretty good overview. Thanks
Great video. Quick and to the point, love it.
Great video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
do I have to download the dji app on my phone even if I have the rc controller?
Never seen a video where someone says “out” that many times. Anyone else hear how he says it?
Hey. Great video but the background lamp that's visible on the right side of your controller display is very annoying, and covering what you're showing us. Otherwise, great video!!
Indeed, I noticed that after I had filmed it. It is something I’ve been trying to pay attention to a little more closely when filming. Thank you for watching. And thanks for the feedback.
This is an excellent video! Loved the fact you got straight to the point on everything and explained everything in simple terms. Subscribed!
Thank you very much
And what is the filmy shit on the controller?
What is the bubble crap in the right hand corner?
