Just wanted to share something I heard on another channel, you should power on the controller first, then the drone, reason that was given is if the drone for some reason just takes off, you wouldn't be able to control it right away with the controller not powered on. Not sure if a malfunction like that is likely to happen, but it's the order I'd power on myself.
Bypass didn't work for me that close to the ground, I had to raise it up almost over my head, then tried it and it did bypass by skirting off to the side once and over my head another time I tried testing it.

If you drop your video to 4k 25 or 4k 30 it will bypass .. if you fly in 4k 50 or 4k 60 it won't bypass ...

Bypass only work on 4k 30 below. It will just stop at 4k 60.

Yes, I have a daughter who at the age of 35 has now become an associate director in a law firm. I recall when she was 14 and appears to be about the same age as Shanaya. For better or worst - they do grow out of it.
You can also screen record with audio with the use of a usb-c lav mic plugged into the (HOST) port. This will work other ways as well with a USB-C adapter with a 3.5mm TRS port.
Alright Dustin, FINALLY ... you know I've been waiting on this one since the M3P came out! But to be frank ... its really the range test I'm looking for! (you have developed a reputation for epic range testing of these Mini guys! 😉)

I've owned the M3P since early August & the farthest I've gotten with the + battery is ~30k feet, 1-way. It's a toss-up between the battery level & the signal strength as to which sends it home 1st.
Glad your back, just did my firmware upgrade and bypass works , maybe it’s the 30/60 frame rate deal.

been waiting for this! one frustration I have with the new rc is you can't save your files off the drone onto the controller it just says to connect the drone to your phone which requires you to unbind the new rc controller and use your old one
Just a heads up, if you were flying in 4K60 frames per second that may have prevented the bypass mode from working. Try lowering it to 30 frames per second and see if it works. I may be wrong but I think I saw something on another video regarding that option being limited to that frame rate

Bypass does not work with fps 60. It's documented somewhere in the manual. I guess the cpu cannot do the writing to sd card and the ki to find an alternative flight path all at once.

Hi Dustin! I'm a newbie drone flyer so, for me, these startup videos - even as long as they are - are really great and full of the information I need to just get started! I bought a "like new" mini 3 pro with the fly mor kit so I'm very happy that I did. I didn't really understand how to even power the drone and the controller on! I'm a private pilot and the flight characteristics and airspace maneuvering are pretty understandable for me since I DO want to avoid ANY interference with our local airspace! As a pilot, flying into an errant drone could be costly and/or deadly. Keep up the great reviews!
the drone is in this position when it is hovering because when it is flying forward, it is in a horizontal position, which greatly improves aerodynamics. If you compare it to other DJI drones, you will see that when they are flying forward, they lean a lot, making the aerodynamics worse.
This was only possible, because if you notice well, the back arms of the drone are inclined so that the angle compensates for that initial position of the drone
I’m sure many have already stated this, but to me the “vertical” camera feature is beneficial if user uploads content to instagram / tiktok etc.
No need to state that at all. That’s entirely the purpose and it’s an obvious advertised feature mate
I have had a great experience with the Mini 3 Pro. The only honest criticism I have is its positional accuracy. There is no Precision Landing, perhaps DJI sees it as a moot point when the wind can move it, but even returning to the start point from Quickshots, Mastershots, etc. is quite poor. It will often end up a meter or 3 off of the start position. I have learned to get out of its way since it nearly takes your face off sometimes. This is with compass, IMU, and controller compass calibrated.
bypass wasn't working cz you're shooting at 4k 60fps..if you change for 4k 30fps will work.

It didn’t land perfectly because I think when you reset the drone to let the gimbal adjust, remember that you were holding the drone off of the mat at the time. That could be a possibility because of the reset.

Watched your video when it was new but now I’ve bought the drone I’m watching again (and I’ve learnt a few things since)…
The body of the drone sits back like because in forward flight it’s level (less drag, more battery life and speed)
You can also set the C buttons to act like a function / shift key when you hold them, to give the right scroll wheel multiple functions.
Thanks for the review. I was thinking of upgrading my DJI Mavic Mini as I wanted tracking and follow me etc. However, I came across the third party Maven app which has given the old drone a new life. Worth trying before upgrading if you are on a budget.

I believe that the fps setting affects bypass mode. I THINK above 30 fps, it uses braking instead of bypass.

I'd be curious to know if the range is different between the 2 controllers.
I believe the angle from front to rear having the front up a little is to give the camera more room for 60 degrees up. If it was flying level, you would probably get 50 degrees with the camera in the up position.
