+Indranil Roy Chowdhury (Akash) lol I don't even think I lasted that long! bullet sponge enemies, huge reliance on online play, repetitive and dull...despite the reviews and being a similar sort of game, Homefront still intrigues me though..
The lighting system is superb. Effects are somewhat complex. All this shouldn't be a surprise. This game is made with CryEngine 3.Textures are ok.Objects are detailed just fine. = art team did a decent job. Your PS3 reference just makes you a fool with no knowledge about 3D graphics. No sarcasm intended.
The animations look choppy, the textures imo don't belong to the next gen platforms, and the effects are not that great. I mean at 2:04 that rocket exploding looks like utter shit to be honest. I mean just compare that smoke effect to the ones in Far Cry 4, I mean those were some of the best I've seen in any game.
now I see why for the last couple of years they were only showing cut scenes, because the real game looks like thrash.....I've seen 360 games that looks better than this shit!!
+Doe Diggity Normally comments about how bad a game is graphically - I would chalk up to hyperbole, but in this case the game actually does look like a 360 era game. I suspect it's because the game was initially set to release during that time, but due to problems with THQ and the proceeding buyout, it had a big delay. Just looking at the textures of doors and things you commonly interact with tell you this was meant for lower grade systems. The horrible part is, it runs horribly on consoles and high end PCs.
bought this a couple of days ago for £25 and at that price i defineitly think it's worth giving it a go. some of the problems like the freezing don't seem to be happening anymore. not the greatest game but not as bad as some of the reviews make out.
I made the mistake of pre-ordering it. The review I feel really nails it on the head. The game does its core goals very well with the guerilla combat and I absolutely love the gun customization with switching out attachments in the middle of a fight. But the story is kind of average and the gun play is okay but there isn't a whole lot of variety. The map looks good overall but the environment is stagnant and there isn't a whole lot of interaction beyond hiding in dumpsters and occasionally getting to open a door. The multi-player is confusing and probably the worst part about the game. Overall a 5 or 6 out of 10 in my opinion.
It's an absolute train wreck and in no way satisfactory against any shooter you've likely ever played. Videos won't do this horror proper justice. To play it is the only way of truly understanding and I wouldn't recommend it.
Yeah it's bad, some poor dude on twitch last night was trying to enter multiplayer, and there isn't even one. A few others got pissed and said DON'T buy this, it's awful.
Homestly this game is bad and all, but why the hell does it need multiplayer? Multiplayer is overwashed right now, and games have always and always should be about the campaign.
Douglass MacArthur the original homefront mp was really really good, I just got revolution yesterday but haven't played mp yet. I hope mp is as good as the first one
WTF are so many of you complaining about the quality of the video game picture? Huh? It is high definition, IDK what you want. Shit, it looks great on my 1080p 40" flat screen TV. It's a huge step up from the 1st Homefront game which I also liked & have played a few times previously. IDK, I think alot of people are spoiled & expect some perfection in everything. I've played tons of FPS games & that's all I play mostly & this game is awesome so far. The story is repetitive, sure. Yes, waging guerrilla warfare against a more powerful foe IS BORING. It's not supposed to be fun. Hell, war is hell kids, it's not meant to be enjoyable at all.
I bought it because people seem to forget the fact that the dev team was tiny, it has been in production for years and they were going bankrupt, the only problems with the game is that: The enemy AI is stupid That Goliath mission was fucked up it barely ever followed you Aim Assistance is just terrible Even though North Koreans have tiny eyes they still manage to hit you with every shot The vaulting over/on objects is bad There's no open world after you finish the campaign, which is the saddest part because I truly love the game and I'm sad to see nothing else. Is it me or did the guy at the end of the video in the tuque look like a younger Tom Cruise? Also it would seem Homefront the Revolution has turned out exactly like the original Homefront: a game with alot of potential that just did not deliver but was still fun for a casual playthrough but you could never shake the feeling that it was a missed opportunity...
+ThatGuyNamedElliot you should still try it out for yourself - ive played games that reviewers hated and I loved them - then I hated myself that I almost let a review cheat me out of playing an awesome game.
Gahechi Esmichi Idk, I haven't got any money (student problems) so I don't wanna waste the money on a game that's broken. Maybe my boyfriend will get it idk, if I play his then I might get it depending on how I find it.
It's a real shame, I really wanted this one to be great. I loved the ideas behind the games, the lore and that, but they could never fully pull it off and do the fantastic story ideas justice. I played the original a few times and still go back to it once in a blue moon, but the series as a whole is 'what could have been'.
You can't play shit if there's isn't a consistent frame rate, right there alone everything else is invalid. If gta was to make gta 5 and the frame rate was bad as this game who would give a fuck about anything else because it does not play right anyways. They didn't even optimize this game well.
I feel as if the reviewer didn't really understand the mechanics of the game before making this video. Taking outposts and command centers all helps you get to 100%. Each area has objectives to help reach that 100% whether it be armored vehicles, snipers, etc. Didn't even touch on the bounty aspect of the game.
I don't recommend it, the AI is unbearably stupid, game keeps freezing on me, framerate drops constantly, boring and uninteresting characters, if you played far cry you'll notice that this game's mechanic are not smooth at all.

Homefront was just mediocre the campaign was component but mediocre and the multiplayer was pretty much the best part of the game. This game doesn't even have competitive multiplayer and its campaign looks lame.
+JewHunter That's how I'm feeling right now :( This was the game I was looking forward to because ive been a bit bored by recent games. I was hoping it could give me something to stay interested for a few dozen hours... guess not :(
Man I had hoped this one was going to be at least decent, from everything I've heard I'll wait a few years and get it for two bucks, much disappoint though :(
It's really sad because when the first Homefront came out it had a great idea and premise. It just sounded so good and then when it was released it was such a shitty game. Then they announced a sequel (god knows why since the first one pretty much bombed) and they said they were going to fix all the issues that the first one had and make it less linear, etc. Well it's pretty sad that this one met the same fate the first one did. I really had high hopes that Revolution would do better.
the game is fun not pretty not a game tht I would say buy but I had fun with it here and there.the biggest prob I have is that every time I pick up a item the game auto saves and you cant move.also when there a lot of bad guys in a area the games frame rate would drop. and there is repetitive gameplay like far cry where you do the same actions over and over so play this game at a pace. other then that its fun you can get a good time out of this game I had a friend play it with me and we had a few laughs.
i want to have this game, but i will wait till the game drops down to the $20 dollar, cause been burned by too many games that was hyped up to be great, that ending up being a let down, so not gonna spend big bucks on a game like this one, it has great features, but the game probably doesnt have a long life span, the only thing that will get people back into it from time to time is when those new co-op missions come out until then for each new one the game is mostly on the shelf.
+CrackingEnd no I like all games and I don't really see a need to cry about it I have a large collection of games and it's offline pretty cool I see problems but it don't affect me I play all systems so yeah enjoy games
Be the Trump of the gamer world. Make this game great again. (Report a few bugs instead of unfairly critique) Maybe because i've played over 50,000 games in my lifetime and having been a industry moderator for over 15 years I look past a bunch of stuff.
I'm just going to pay $3 and rent it for the weekend. That's what I did with doom. I hate the doom multiplayer but loved the campaign, however I beat it quickly and I'm not the type of person to replay a campaign. So it wasn't worth $60 to me. But I was able to beat it in 1 week end and play the fun part of the game for $3. So I'm just going to do that with Homefront. Not worth $60 but it's worth having it for a weekend for $3
Never have high expectations unless it's a game by a dev with a good track record. That's what i do, and you should too if you don't want to be disappointed
The gameplay looks extremely boring and very, very stiff. Honestly, they should just throw this I.P at DiCE or ActiVision(can't believe I'd recommend them) but I feel they would do a better job with the IP.
a small team did work on this game for 4 years I bought it and it's already, it just needs a patch plus they are giving free dlc for a year for coop mode
+Jean One of the lead designers from Homefront's multiplayer also worked on "factions" mode for The Last of Us. There's a handful of similarities between the two such as loadout building & earning points to buy equipment during the match. I wish the servers were still up for Homefront though, multiplayer was a lot of fun.
I played for 5 minutes on PC and the frame rate and controls were so bad I had to turn it off. Very disapointing. Movement was like having a siezure and I had it on medium settings w a beast of a PC. Do not buy this piece of shit!
The 3rd that and 2nd that ps4 statement lol I rented it from red box. Controls, graphics and even gameplay was just not up to a next gen standard. As a developer I would of never released even at full price. And they got dlc's for it. I doubt it will make the game even close to likable. This was a epic fail at trying to even match #FreedomFighters which I'd rather play over this trash.
Well, even if the game is bad, the fact that you're playing it on PC is probably part of the problem. Most games have to be ported (sometimes by 3rd party companies) to release a PC version. Those ports are usually bad at first. They have to be patched multiple times before they work correctly.
Yeah but this was actually scripted first for pc and ported to consoles, and its bad on PC so I can imagine the damn console versions. @Hbs tv2 yeah freedom fighters was a hell of a game. 4.5 out of 5 hands down.
Living for god I very highly doubt that. If so, could you please link a source of that? Almost all games are made for consoles first. There are very few exceptions. Reason being, it's much easier to make a game for consoles. It's easier to upscale graphics and performance for PC than it is to dumb down a game so it plays well on consoles. And, seeing how XB1 and PS4 are closer to a PC than ever before, now almost no games are developed for PC. You could be right, but unless the devs actually said that it was a port to consoles, it's a safe bet to say that it wasn't.
Another shit game that uses Denuvo im really getting tired of wasting my money on these games i have no issues playing cracked games to test out a game and if i like it ill buy it they think making games uncrackable is smart but its not cause im just about ready to boycott companies that use Denuvo as im tired of wasting my money are rushed or lame games that are way over priced and the the guy who reviewed this game lol aim assist
As someone who unfortunately bought this game, I can say that kind of is the best word to use. This game gets close on somethings, does other things really well, and utterly fails in other areas. This game is the definition of average.
Andy Peters Neither are good games I am into tactical, strategic games that are a challenge. Cod and Homefront to me are mind numbingly boring and pointless. I dont blame you are not playing FPS games.
When you include a lack of "aim assist" as one of the negatives for a game I will give you a dislike every time... This game looks terrible, but not including a built in hack like that is certainly not one of the reasons why.
+TGM Tributes Yea i bought it but the framerate and stuttering had me refunding it within the first hour, i think the tech behind the game is just bad.
+David You need to calm down. I play games for the story too. It's kind of hard to enjoy the story when the games a buggy mess. Anyways, there isn't much of one. A lot of the 'story missions' are just you having to take over certain areas. Basically doing side quests but it's necessary to progress further. There isn't any real likeable characters and it's not a story that's going to have a lasting affect on the player. As I side, 5/10 game. With bugs patched, 6/10 maybe even a 7 because it can get pretty damn fun at times
+David Gameplay is supposed to be part of the judging process when it comes to games. If the gameplay is repetitive and/or the game is hard to play because of the noticeable bugs, obviously the rating will go down. I mainly care about story too but that isn't enough to redeem this game. Homefront has very interesting lore and has a lot of potential for an amazing game and story, but it seems very rushed. The development hell it was in is probably to blame for that.
this game looks like farcrys disabled cousin
+spartan117i2008 So Farcry 4 and 5?
Nah, it's not as bad as The Division :)
+Snarfindorf ?
+CEWIIH Don't even mention that one. I sold the Division after playing(suffering) 3 days.
+Indranil Roy Chowdhury (Akash) lol I don't even think I lasted that long! bullet sponge enemies, huge reliance on online play, repetitive and dull...despite the reviews and being a similar sort of game, Homefront still intrigues me though..

...my ship's sailing to the pirates bay!
I hope thats sarcasm i smell because the graphics look like they belong to ps3 and the story is zzzzfest

Is the frame rate in game as awful as it is in the video, or is UA-cam just butchering the footage?
it's basically unplayable on my ps4
+apotheos1s I pre-ordered it on PS4, and the framerate is absolutely awful
+FireWolf 42 same. really disappointed. I got to the part where you get the dirt bike and I just stopped. at least I've got doom

No
Explain how it's ironic? I think the irony here is that you don't understand irony 👍🏻
+Satans Hell Hound "muh independence day"
Not half as ironic as the film U-571.
2:06 thats whats wrong here. Enemy gets shot, turns around and ignores it like it never happened, twirls then gets shot dead. 2016 AI right there.
is this game like freedomfighters 2005 ??
Will be on sale very soon.
+Richard Montes yeah i will grab it next week for $20 on G2A :)
+Pc Gamer 5150 STILL not worth it. I'm serious. PC version is a pile o crap.

Oh man +GamesRadar where's the 60fps vids man, I loved those that's what differentiate you guys and the rest of other youtube channels

No

this game looks awful.....
I bought it because people seem to forget the fact that the dev team was tiny, it has been in production for years and they were going bankrupt, the only problems with the game is that:
The enemy AI is stupid
That Goliath mission was fucked up it barely ever followed you
Aim Assistance is just terrible
Even though North Koreans have tiny eyes they still manage to hit you with every shot
The vaulting over/on objects is bad
There's no open world after you finish the campaign, which is the saddest part because I truly love the game and I'm sad to see nothing else.
Please just buy it, the dev team needs your help.
Yeh stuff that game. I'm waiting for The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

Why does the gameplay look so much different from the trailers?
Is it me or did the guy at the end of the video in the tuque look like a younger Tom Cruise? Pretty sure Infamous Second Son did the exact same thing with the districts system a couple years ago.
And apparently they did it better, too.
Choppy Framerate. Will never see a Homefront game again.

It has terrible reviews all over
I just saw one that said it's a lot like far cry, but poor performance on ps4.
+Emanouche It's getting poor reviews across the board so far. I myself was considering it but after so many low scores, I think I'll pass.
dambuster announced that there is a day one patch to improve framerate and performance.
+Emanouche NOPE. Its really trash. You'll see. Be blessed, friend.
To put it simply, the game is a 5/10. If all the bugs were patched I'd give it a 6/10

the only problem of the game it was short , and the graphics were bad
+Jean One of the lead designers from Homefront's multiplayer also worked on "factions" mode for The Last of Us. There's a handful of similarities between the two such as loadout building & earning points to buy equipment during the match. I wish the servers were still up for Homefront though, multiplayer was a lot of fun.
The first game was completely over-rated. It was terrible and about 3 hours long.
Think I'll give this one a miss, for sure.
+Alex Townley probably meant over hyped
Bought it and played some of it. The game is terrible don't buy.
it's pretty mediocre
It sucks this game turned out so bad. I mean, I called it, but it still sucks.
Cool!!!
This game looks like a ps2 game
+M9 INC if your talking about AI then sure but graphics stop kidding yourself
Game sucks trading it in for doom
this was the worst game I've ever played runs about 30 fps on ps4 sometimes lower, 100% shit game
I think they made it worse than the first one lmao 💀
Watch dogs 2.0
So its suck so much i guess i not buying this then
the game is shitty, but I have the game
I played for 5 minutes on PC and the frame rate and controls were so bad I had to turn it off. Very disapointing. Movement was like having a siezure and I had it on medium settings w a beast of a PC. Do not buy this piece of shit!
+Justin Watson same here just on ps4 total crap
Living for god
I very highly doubt that.
:(
Another shit game that uses Denuvo im really getting tired of wasting my money on these games i have no issues playing cracked games to test out a game and if i like it ill buy it they think making games uncrackable is smart but its not cause im just about ready to boycott companies that use Denuvo as im tired of wasting my money are rushed or lame games that are way over priced and the the guy who reviewed this game lol aim assist
The review embargo shit needs to stop.
I trust this review les and less every time you say "kind of".
As someone who unfortunately bought this game, I can say that kind of is the best word to use. This game gets close on somethings, does other things really well, and utterly fails in other areas. This game is the definition of average.
another fuckin boring cod rip off..thank god dooms out
+Andy Peters COD rip off??? try Far cry rip off! this game is nothing like COD.
+Pc Gamer 5150 u can tell the shooting mechanic is just the same as cod..this is why I've gone off fps they all do that cod thing
Andy Peters Neither are good games
I am into tactical, strategic games that are a challenge.
Cod and Homefront to me are mind numbingly
boring and pointless.
I dont blame you are not playing FPS games.
+Pc Gamer 5150 i salute u sir
When you include a lack of "aim assist" as one of the negatives for a game I will give you a dislike every time...
This game looks terrible, but not including a built in hack like that is certainly not one of the reasons why.

this game looks horrid
To put it simply, the game is a 5/10. If all the bugs were patched I'd give it a 6/10
+TGM Tributes Yea i bought it but the framerate and stuttering had me refunding it within the first hour, i think the tech behind the game is just bad.
