I remember seeing this with my brother and older cousins back then in '88. We watched it up till the part when Blondie lets Tuco go in the desert and then it was bedtime.
I was on holiday at the time in Jersey and for the first time i saw this film totally ,it had shown many on the telly , but for the first i sat and watched fully
Wish I was Controller of BBC Two. I’d bring back the Sunday night late movies, moviedrome and the film seasons, the Saturday night late horror films, Laurel & Hardy, Bilko, Flash Gordon, Harold Lloyd &c. (OK, some of the above where on BBC One)
I showed this to my late dad in 2020. He was in a wheelchair suffering from dementia but it kept him interested.
This has stayed with me since I stayed up that night to video it. 30 odd years later it’s still my favourite movie and I loved Moviedrome forever.
I loved Moviedrome. It introduced me to so many films I love now and The Good the Bad and the Ugly is up there as one of the greatest.

Brilliant. Had never seen this one before. Thanks for posting.

I remember loving this intro but Cox is absolutely right - the film is much too long.
It's not a second too long.
Very boring film. Good soundtrack.
It's a masterpiece to people that are open to it's charms.
