- Alex Cox introduces John Boorman's 'Excalibur' for Moviedrome.
Many thanks to Kaprisky for the video.
REQUEST: if anyone has the Alex Cox introduction(s) to 'Point Blank' and 'The Long Goodbye' for BBC2's The Film Club; and/or Mark Cousins' intro for 'Eyes without a Face' for the Forbidden Season, could you please upload or get in touch. Thank you.
Excalibur is a classic. One of my father's favourite movies.
I miss moviedrome. I miss the days when the BBC was worth watching
One of my favourite movies.
Great film. I used to live Moviedrome, too.
Where did he get the idea this film had a huge budget?? Kurosawa would have had a much bigger one. And filming in Ireland was perfect as the story of Arthur never really strays beyond the shores of ancient Britain. One of my all time favourite films much overdue a 4K restoration.
Great movie.
John Ninnis I remember my dad during Christmas taped Excalibur and Monty Pythons Holy Grail as they were showing as a double bill on BBC 2 back in the early 90's. My brother and I watched these two films to death, Excalibur is just bonkers but how kick ass the ending is especially the epic battle.
@@stevecheevers7337 My father owns Excalibur on DVD and I own Monty Python and the Holy Grail on DVD.
I thought Nicol Williamson's performance was the best thing about the film.
And the late Alex Thompson's photography.
Yes. Nicol Williamson gave an OSCAR worthy performance.
The video originates from Ben Riggers, I think. I just nabbed it before it disappeared!
george diskant Thank you.
