It does not capture them in the resin the way epoxy and urethane resins do, it heats up and leaves space for the air to escape before fully cured on these smaller blanks, it I were making a much larger blank I would want to put it in a pressure pot as it would heat up even more and cure faster in a large volume.
This resin is fairly brittle, a hard smack can shatter this like glass but it would mainly be a worry for larger more solid pieces of the plastic, on a pen it is not a very big concern due to the light weight.
I've been trying to get that abalone thing going as well without much luck. Still trying to get a more defined black streak in there

I noticed you didn't put them in a pressure pot during the curing process. Does polyester resin not produce lots of bubbles like epoxy resin?

What is the temperature of the room that they’re curing in and how long does the curing take?
What if it droped , broke or can bear ?
