No matter how low, STROKE is something I don't want to risk. Or PARALYSIS!!
You really should not be telling people such things. Everyone is different, and the risks are different from person to person. My neck was so bad, 3 vertebrae were encroaching on my spinal cord by 50%. My neurosurgeon told me one smack on the back as a hearty greeting could have EASILY either paralyzed me, or even killed me. Someone in my condition could read your comment and go against what common sense dictates and cause themselves irreparable harm. If you are going to give advice to people, especially MEDICAL advice, it's always better to err on the side or caution.

If your neck cracks while you are moving your head around (NOT whipping it around) normally, that is fine. If you add additional force, such as brought on by whipping your head around, or using your hands, then yes, it can possibly hurt you/be dangerous.

I actually ended up with a spinal cord injury at c7 from years of forcefully cracking my neck in both directions. I had no symptoms in my arms or shoulders but the first real obvious sign that something was wrong was a rather sudden onset of increasing weakness in my legs and a numbness in my lower back. Approximately two weeks later I was paralyzed. I am now mobile after two surgeries and lots of physical therapy.

No, but I can do most things in moderation. Inclines, stairs, etc. are a challenge due to muscle fatigue/weakness. Most of my body has some level of abnormal sensation, but the areas that are completely numb have reduced. I have some degree of spasticity in my thighs, upper back, ribs, and chest wall. I know all that sounds terrible, but it's manageable with exercise and occasional PT, but it has actually turned out to be a very positive thing for me. 🙏
Thank you. That was very kind of you to inquire. 💜

yes it's bad and most of all, it doesn't do much to improve your pain or alignment whatsoever.. you just feel good. that's it. but the problem is sometimes you can strain your muscle doing that or in worst cases, you can snap vertebral arteries or nerve root..

They said my artery was damaged from trauma. Something they would see if someone hit their head really hard or from something like a roller coaster ride whipping their neck around.

I crack my neck in the mornings after I wake up. One time I did it and heard more of a squelch than a crack. Couldn’t turn my head to the left without immense pain. It turns out I’d pulled a muscle in my neck and the doctor said it was called something like torticolis. I still crack my neck fairly often, just make sure to be in a ‘proper posture’ position as I was laid down on my front when I caused the muscle spasm

No cracking today. So it isn’t constant. I do have Cervical discs that have been moved out of alignment so far that my spinal cord is starting to impinge at C5 and C6. I have my spine pulled into an “S” at T5 and T6 due to muscles constantly pulling on this area. Won’t find anything out for 5 more days.

    Bob and Brad,
I don’t know if you guys read these comments, but I have a question about my hamstring. I’m a gymnast, and about a year ago I did something to my upper hamstring. I thought I tore it at first, so I tried not stretching it or using it at all, but that didn’t help. After toughing it out through competition season, I went to physical therapy for about two months but it didn’t seem so help at all. I also went to deep massage therapy, and after that it felt better for about a day, but then it was back. I feel like I’ve tried everything and nothing is working. Thanks!

I used to crack my neck several times a day (sometimes using a little force). These days I have 3 herniated discs in my neck, shoulder pain, and my neck will not crack at all to the right side. I think I hurt myself. I also used a shiatsu pillow and I believe that made it worse.

@@rqjgaming9607 -- I still crack it but only by putting a hand on the back of my neck and gently pulling my head straight up. Bending to the right just doesn't crack anymore. Doctors have me doing physio which helps but it still hurts enough to affect my sleeping. Alternative is surgery which doctors suggest I avoid if I can. I also get some relief from occasionally using inflatable neck traction device.

Chiropractor here. Most vertebral restrictions I find are in the upper neck, which is almost impossible to pop yourself. A good treatment is the chin tuck stretch, then rotation. I would advise against the leaning back extension stretch; that IS a risk of stroke- think hair salon wash bowl...not good. DON'T POP YOUR OWN NECK (I don't pop mine)Thanks for the good video guys!
