I am currently being managed out. So, I have decided to make it a little harder by having my doctor diagnosed me with stress related to the workplace and work. My doctor sign me up for the mental health program for 30 days and it is an online program twice a week. This is giving me time to look for a new job. I have one job offered and still waiting for another one.

I have struggled with an OCPD manager for 7 years now, and I am just realizing he has been trying to manage me out this entire time. As a sign of his bad management, though, he cut off one of my exit strategies by interfering with my workplace tuition benefit. That would have been the fastest way to get rid of me, as I had been working there longer than him, and 15 years before he became a manager, and I was widely recognized as a high value top performer.

It's difficult to know what's the real intention of someone who make things harder for you and I doubt if in that conversation u may engage if she or he can be willing to open up especially when she/he has negativity concerning you as a person but I must admit it could be a better step before resignation or jump to any conclusion regarding what you see.

You are correct. If you are being managed out by your manager in a passive way, compared with conversations about performance or being put on a PIP in which your manager is being proactive, the likelihood your manager is going to be completely honest is low. Especially if it is because your manager cannot fire you or put you on a PIP, which involves HR and is complicated for all involved.
