- In this video we take a look at the Rivian Software Update 2024.19 and examine the updates Rivian has made to the air suspension and kinetic ride control on both the Rivian R1S and the R1T. Ride along with me as I give you my first impressions of the changes and updates Rivian has made in this new Software release. We also get a brief look at the blind spot camera and the new software user interface as well.

I have no problem with the steering wheel interfering with the blind spot cameras. I simply adjusted the steering wheel to see more of the driver display. I also like a higher seat level, so that the display fits within the steering wheel opening. Blind spot cameras are an added safety feature that I've wanted and I thank you Rivian. Excellent vid. More please.

Nice! I'm susceptible to motion sickness and the previous update in soft was legit making me sick. Hoping this tightens up some of the floatiness.
Thanks for the post. I've only had the new software for a day, but I did notice an improvement in the ride feel as well.

Suspension is night+day better in the R1S after the update.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, wife's R1S is currently in service having a few minor fit/finish issues sorted. I should have that back next week.
Thanks for the video. I used to drive moderate setting in my R1S but i found it got harsher...now i drive in soft but it isn't as nice as the moderate used to be...it could be that disconnected steering wheel you mentioned in the soft. What is your favorite ride feel setting in the R1S post update ?
Thanks for sharing. Moderate or Firm in the R1S in the standard ride height around town or low on highway in R1S. After the update I may lean more towards firm. Its really interesting how much difference a shorter wheel base makes in the R1S.
I liked the floatiness of the truck... it feels very stiff to me now, at least the front does. The rear feels better, not as jumpy. I also have a clunk coming from the front suspension when going over speed bumps and that update made so much worse that I can't even drive on a specific road in my area, I have to take a detour. The new UI design is cool.
I'm sorry to hear that. Mine makes some noise and every R1 I have driven makes noise unfortunately in certain scenarios. The T seems to be more prone to making noise in the front but the S will do it too under certain circumstances.
I need Rivan to upgrade the cabin filter to compete with Tesla. The the model Y has spoiled me. I want an R2 or R1S but I don't ever want to go back to smelling exhaust ever again.
I am totally with you on this! I hate the smell of exhaust!
The turn signal camera image in the Gen 2 is just as bad.
I should say that they are using a small FOV from a very fish eye view already so they will be limited on quality without a dedicated camera. But, it does the job I would say so I appreciate them adding the feature for sure.
Honestly I cant feel a difference. I drive in All purpose soft.
