Back in 2017, I was in secondary school (year 10) when a girl (who I had a massive crush on and was really attractive) confessed that she loved me but I couldn’t pluck up the courage to ask her out. I’d known her since I was in year 3 but never had the faintest idea she felt this way about me, we were more or less only on a first name basis. I knew she was sincere about her feelings otherwise she wouldn’t have said it. I have autism and I find communication challenging so it would have been difficult for me to even start a conversation. I know I’m a coward and I should have just gone for it since she obviously would have said yes. It’s the single biggest regret of my life. I know this was a very long time ago but I still think about it often. I just wish I had the courage to have spoken to her, I feel like we could have an amazing relationship together and my heart aches just thinking about it. This is actually funny for me. When I was younger (I'm kinda old, 32 y/o) I lacked self confidence and always thought girls wouldn't want anything with me. As I grew older I found out that a lot of girls actually were into me. In fact, when I was 15 y/o I moved to this new town and there was this one girl who was gorgeous, and I had this massive crush on her. Never had the balls to ask her out. A few years later she ACTUALLY ASKED ME OUT. By that time I was more confident and had no problems whatsoever with girls, and asking them out. But being asked out by my 4 years long crush was more than I could stand. I laughed a little and walked away, like if she was joking or something. Cringiest moment ever! A few years later I actually asked her if she was joking or something and she said she wasn't, was really into me and never understood why I did that, because she always felt it was mutual. And indeed it was, but I was such an idiot, ahahaha.
