  • Back in December 2019 I was lucky enough to get my hands on the New Stihl BGA 200 for a few days.
    Sadly the weather was not great while I had the machine - but here is a first look at some of the cool new features and a quick demo out in some very poor windy conditions.
    The new BGA 200 is a powerful new cordless blower with high blowing force (21 N) and high air speed (84 m/s) for professional clearing jobs. The 21 N blowing force on this cordless model is now between the BR 350 (17 N) and BR 450 C-EF (26 N), providing ample blowing power for a professional user. Its low noise means no ear defenders required during us. It is also very flexible in the way it can be used; hand-held when in narrow areas or utilise the new comfort carrying system for larger areas where it hooks onto a hip adaptor for a carrying system. It also features cruise control and quick blower tube adjustment via a quick release clasp.
    RRP £384.00

    Really excited for Stihl’s innovation and refinement of the battery powered world of equipment, and implementing it into my fully green conversion gardening business this coming 2023 season! Thanks so much Fully Charged Gardener for showing how serious these amazing bits of kit are, and having a lovely bit of humor along the way😊. You’ve helped me have the confidence to invest in the conversion of my equipment. I am so looking forward to the quieter, cleaner, greener, less fatiguing, less maintaining, less expensive operating cost, space saving, and just cool landscape operation this coming spring season! I admit, I am not quite “Fully Charged” just yet, but I am headed in that direction! Thanks again for your inspiration and encouragement, I only wish I could be as cool as you someday!😊. My line up includes: replacing my echo back pack blower with the BGA 57 w/AK 20 battery,(I know a “little baby” compared to that BGA 200 😂), replacing my HS hedge trimmer with the HSA 56 w/AK 20 battery, back up HSA 94T w/AP 300S battery w/high speed charger 😊, hip belt battery bag w/harness, replacing my Kombi KM 91R w/ a KMA 130 R w/AP 300S battery, (already have articulating extension power shears, 4’ extension, extension pole saw, bed re-definer), and just picked up the string trimmer attachment for the KM 130R to replace my gas powered Echo string trimmer…😮. I know it’s just a little baby set-up for now😊, but I’ll be adding to it in the future! An AR 3000, that nifty BGA 200 you got there😊, and an MSA 220 chainsaw would fit me up real nice!!😊. Anyway, love you stuff Fully Charged and I’ll see you in the garden! Cheers!❤

    Very nice, that hip holster seems quite nice with the range of movement that it has. Nice demo too, it looks to be quite effective. Anyone who has blown in long grass will know 👍🏼

      Cruise control really should be standard on all the battery blowers, such a simple but useful feature.

    It's a unique shape, but maybe that's breaking the mould and moving forward, be interesting to see how its performance come September/October, when I was in Belgium last year, I saw a maintenance team using the 100 and was doing a good job.

      Thank you for sharing that. I've got the KMA 130R with the leaf blower attachment, so was wondering if this BGA200 was more "powerful" or not.

    I bought one, to use with my 10 month old AP300 batteries.
    I got 16 minutes out of it on high power and 26 on medium.
    The quoted 78 minutes runtime must be for the absolute lowest power (like idling a petrol blower)
    Using the AP carry belt, the flat batteries are too hot to charge immediately after use. Adding to the runtime charge-time ratio.
    I also found the angle of the handle a bit uncomfortable without the harness, as it blows down at the ground too much for my liking, so I held it 2 handed mostly.
    Don't get me wrong it's a truly excellent machine on high power, but I returned it as it just doesn't make sense in my business with that runtime. For reference on medium setting the BGA200 seemed a little weaker than my Husky 525BX on full throttle.

    I'd need your opinion; I can't decide if I should buy this one (BGA 200) or maybe a petrol BR600(700). It's for home use; some 500m2 of lawn, courtyard, flowerbeds cleaning and such. What would you get for yourself? The difference in price is not that huge (BGA 200+battery pouch with cable for the AP300S); the petrol is only slightly more expensive but much stronger. ???

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  3 роки тому +1

      Irion Pleione I would go for BGA 200. But that is my personal choice.
      If you do decide to go for battery - I would always recommend buying two batteries, that way you can have one on charge, while you are using one on the machine. Hope this is helpful 😀

      @@TheFullyChargedGardener very helpful; you sound like my mother who told me I don't need a tornado and that this unit is much more practical and flexible for day to day use.

    How about a video showing the differences between the AP 300 and AP 300S batteries and how you need to wear them on a belt. Also, what is the difference between the AP 300 and AP 300S and how does a decision between them affect how they can be used with other professional equipment. Also, is it better to recharge the Stihl batteries even if they have half a charge left or is it better to run the battery down to a very low charge before a recharge - which gives the longest life of the battery.

      Lithium battery's (what the ap system battery's are made of) are best charged at 25% and taken off the charger at 85% (which nobody does of course) lithium does not have "memory" in their battery's so it's not as important when you charge them as back in the day.

    I’m a pro gardener and use my BR600 daily they are ideal not just for leaves but for general blitzing getting debris and dirt clear very loud but affective
    What’s the power of this electric blower in comparison with the BR600-BR800

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  3 роки тому +1

      The BR800 is a best! With a blowing force of 41N - The 600 has a blowing force of 32N - The BGA 200 has a blowing force of 21N The key benefit of the battery blower, is the reduced noise. I can use it in the gardens without disturbing anyone. 😀

    • @PeterWalkervlogfootballnews

      The Fully Charged Gardener id guess some day everything will go electric and technology will advance to make something just as powerful as the current petrol blowers

      Really keen to try them out. Have a few areas here where I think they will be really useful. A stone flying out from a strimmer and smashing something, is definitely a worry here.
