This video has a wonderful benefit of illustrating that plant owners shouldn’t “give up” too soon on struggling plants. Rather, try to diagnose the source of the problem and then don’t hesitate to take the necessary steps to correct the problem. As you said, it is very satisfying to see plants recover, especially plants that have been enjoyed for a long time. Sometimes It may seem that the corrective steps are draconian but in actuality they are just what the plant needs to thrive once again. I think you make this point very well.
Okay, you motivated me to finally rehab my Verrucosum, hahaha. I watched this last night at 11pm and was tempted to jump out of bed and do it right away. 😂 But I finally did it today. It was a purchase from Ecuagenera and it just did not ship well (as expected). I chopped it into node cuttings, like your Mamei. Fingers crossed! And your maranta already looked happier after getting repotted!! Thank you for the motivation!! Haha.
Aw you’re welcome!! Thank you! My verrucosum hates me haha I’m trying to regrow it for the third time. It’s such a hard plant! Hoping yours comes back for you! ❤️❤️
oh mine!!! i can feel you!!!! After i repot my plowmanii, the leaves started yellowing!!! 4 leaves now became 2, but a new shoot coming out. hopefully it survive!
I started following you on IG and now on here and honestly you are my new favorite plant UA-camr 🥰 you’re voice is so soothing and I love how much you love plants and how much joy they bring you also so knowledgeable about everything🪴 Time to binge watch lol 😆
Aw thank you!! That’s so sweet to say ❤️❤️ it brings me so much joy to talk about plants and to share it’s definitely why I started here on UA-cam. It’s how I learned so much watching others and their experiences. If I can help anyone with their plants then that means so much to me 🥹
That copper tip was huge for me... I was going to use a copper trellis for one of my hoya plants but not anymore, thank you for that!! Fell like you saved my lisa
It happens to all of us! Sometimes plants just die too and that’s okay 🥲 yeah it’s interesting! I read something about it being toxic in that it can inhibit photosynthesis but I haven’t done much research on it. I’ll have to look into that too thank you! ❤️❤️
Many thanks for this video. Hoping your rehabs grow well. Yes, any rehab videos would be greatly appreciated! I have a few plants that went downhill quickly, however, I was able to rehab them and they are doing well now. The thing is, I still don’t know what caused them to go downhill. 😵💫. Hopefully your video will help everyone who has plants in need of a good rehabbing. 👌🪴🥰
Thank you so much! I feel like sometimes plants just go downhill for no reason 🥲 I definitely take risks but most of the time they can come back. I like the challenge too! I’ll have to see if I can film another time here! Thank you for watching! ☺️🙏🏼
Those yellow leaves on your Mamei just look like regular leaves dying off while the plant establishes itself :) they have all sort of funny patterns of yellow while they decay, I wouldn’t worry about it too much!
If affected they entire plant though even the new leaves. These leaves are less than two months old. All the rest yellowed the same way and died. It shouldn’t be happening to the entire plant 🥲
I prune roots sometimes but it depends on what’s going on with it. I know I’m putting the plant risk introducing bacteria but I haven’t had any plants die on me from doing it. I think as long as I don’t take more than a third off then it shouldn’t go into too much shock 😊
Loved seeing the lemon lime aranta repot. I'm still on the search for one soon. Thanks for showing us plant rehabs as well as healthy ones. I learn a lot!
Great video ! 🌿😊🌿 Plants are the best, specially the people behind them 🌿🤩🌿 You got a new sub from Denmark 🌿😊🇩🇰😊. Thank you for this awesome video !!! 🌿🌿🌿
Aw thank you so much! Happy to have you here! ☺️ I love plants and I’m happy to share what I have learned to help! I learned so much from watching others! 💚💚
Great job! I bet it was just the root bound why it was not happy! It will love what you did for it.....it will also be nice to see the progress the philo makes :) I feel like I have been rehabing lots of plants in July.....like my anthuriums all got new mix...hopegully I goy it right this time...and my hoya....I have had some issues...maybe one death....hopefully it will hang on! Yes love these videos....I have a small hanging basket of that maranta the 6 inch and it may be time for a repot! Ok see you soon :,
Thank you for watching! I couldn’t believe the roots on it either! 🥲 I should have repotted it a lot sooner! The mamei is doing good so far I can see the growth points more but it will be interesting to see if whatever was killing it spreading again or not. Hoping for the best for your plants!! 💚💚🙏🏼
Hi melissa!! I just purchased a silver dragon that was on clearance and needed some rehab....I repotted last night hopefully she makes it. Those roots were crazy lol....thank u so much for sharing! Have an amazing week
Hi there! I can send you a link. I got it off Amazon as part of a succulent tool kit. It’s the best haha. That and the other tool that I use to poke a hole in the soil to add props in. I can’t live without that either! www.amazon.com/dp/B083Q4RZ39?tag=onamzmeli0992-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B083Q4RZ39&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.B6F3YIOPBQAN
@@plantsbymelissa Hi Melissa! I ordered and received the succulent toolkit you recommended. Thanks for sending the link. It has all the tools and accessories that I can think of using. I used some of them almost immediately. My holiday cactus is looking poorly, so I removed it from its planter and gently separated some of the soil and re-potted with a cactus soil mix and perlite. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll be watching your latest video tonight or tomorrow. Keep it green! 😊
I started to add them in my plants but not all of them yet. I’m watering so much now that it’s easier to not have to mix it so much 🙃 I’ve been using the liquid for awhile so wanted to try out some slow release to see how it works for me and the plants react to it 😊
I don't agree with ever cutting good roots. There's no such thing as a plant having too many roots. Instead give it a pot suitable for it's rooting system. It wouldn't have grown those roots if it didn't need them... Hope the plants recover and do well.

You’re welcome! Not sure if it was that or not but definitely strange it happened after I repotted it and used it 🥲
@@plantsbymelissa Better to be safe than sorry, I for sure trust all your tried and tested ways!
I have a few sad plants too... glad I'm not alone! I could be wrong but I believe copper is antimicrobial

I think you did the right thing by trimming all of those roots off of that maranta.

I loved this video. Your Marantea is beautiful. My favorite video's are rehab's and updates.
Looking forward to the next one.🌱🌿🪴🥰

My lemon lime wasn't happy either 🥺 but, he seems to be recovering now! And I'm the opposite, I love ceramic pots 🙈🥰
Glad to hear yours is recovering! 🙏🏼 I love the look of ceramic so now I put a lot of nursery pots into ceramic as a cover pot 😂🙌🏼

Check the roots on the silver dragon! Mine had a plug on the roots from Costa farms!
