Obviously they could use headphones, and still communicate verbally. I meant that I would miss the freedom of making noise and hearing noise in a general sense. I also completely understood that this movie takes place in a post apocalyptic future where music already exsisted. Didn't think I'd have to explain that when I originally posted this comment but okay. Im glad some people understood the point I was trying to get across.
Yasemin BAHAR how was music even created if you can’t even hear it? you don’t know what sounds good together and all music must be created to hear. It’s not like you can strap headphones up to a cello 🤔 I wonder how they did it
I know you're probablyjoking but you should really take a look at the script. The whole thing is amazing, they designed the text according to the sound design directions. It's the only script I've ever thought was actually engaging to read.
I find horror films so cheesy, and not worth watching until they're on Netflix or Hulu, especially ones dealing with aliens and weird apocalyptic scenarios, HOWEVER, this film is so unique in the filming style, the story, the actors, etc. Its the only horror movie that has made my cry, and I regret waiting so long to watch it. I'll definitely be in the theater for the sequel.
Exactly most horror movies are the same price to watch them even though I know they're going to have the same ending in the same plot but this was so different and I really enjoyed it even though he died
This movie is easily in my top 5 of all time. Not just horror, but all genres. While it is considered a "horror or thriller" it's so much more than that. It's beautiful and emotional and nerve-wracking. This is one of those movies I've been waiting for, as a horror fan, for forever. I'm 33 years old, which isn't THAT old, but to have an American-made horror film touch on so many different emotions with a really amazing storyline is seriously refreshing! Anyone who isn't quite convinced about going to see this movie in the theater, GO! This is 100% a need to see in the theater movie. It's so good!
This scene was definitely one of the best scenes in the whole film. And what really sold me to it was how Johns eyes dart around after having put out the fire. John is a master of conveying emotion with only a subtle look and he was the perfect choice to act in this, and direct the young actors to convey the correct facial expressions.
Loved this film. I even think it deserves an oscar like Get Out (cause I loved it more than Get Out). Well thought and well executed. Kudos to Mr. John Krasinski
This was authentic and legitimately fantastic, to have a director go through some key points on making a film, and to get into such detail when it comes to the sources of material!
This movie is a must watch. Its one of those movies where you are going to be referencing the cinematic ques, scenes, and the beauty of how well the actors are so well in-tuned with their characters. Take a date, family, or go alone, its worth the ticket, popcorn, and drink.
I absolutely love and adore this movie so much . The sound design is perfect and the tension is so high that I got a major headache after the film because I was too nervous LOL . Great great job ❤️
I simply loved this film. It must be said, and so I will say it, John Krasinski did such a terrific job of showing how much--as a father in this film--he loved his kids (that scene at the end when the snotty little deaf girl--great job by the actress in making me see her that way---sees in the basement the effort her dad had been going through to prefect her hearing devices wrecked me). Overall, the fact that this film is such a success does not surprise me in the least. America--indeed humans around the world--reward excellence.
I don’t think I’d call her snotty, she’s just becoming a teenager and her dad is giving her false hope every time by giving her those hearing aids. She can’t do half the things her brother does because her dad is worried she’ll make too much noise and not know. Millie’s character is very human in the sense that she reacts the way anyone else would being put in that situation.
He explains everything so well! Although I did think the first half of the movie dragged. I ended up loving it. Cried when he said I love you to the girl.
Loved the movie. I sort of imagine a prequel will be coming along. There are some questions though. How are they getting the electricity? Generator makes noise if they are using generators. And some people are also saying they could've just wore layers of socks to dampen their footsteps.
MRfisheri could be the use of solar panels and plus using socks outside would be a pain. I say it would be smart to cover the whole floor with carpet or soft material and maybe mark where the squeaky noises are with paint
I really hope there's a prequel particularly to better understand how to creatures function; throughout the movie I wasn't sure as to how the creatures saw (?) or were they using echolocation bc if they did then they should have been able to differentiate between the humans and the tall crops in the field but if they didn't, how did they not constantly crash into various man-man things on their way to the sound (specially noticeable in the scene where they climb up and down during the unfortunate birthing scene and such..?
Michel actually they did what you said with the paint but not a lot noticed. When you said that they should mark the squeaky spots with paint; there’s a shot in the film where you can see the white paint marks in the house.. another movie reviewer pointed that out as well.. so you’re on the right track & give yourself come credit cause Incase something like this happens you already have some good ideas 💡!
I personally think the movie doesn't need sequel. The point of this movie is about survival and how family protect each other not about the aliens. I also confuse why the truck doesn't have much sound lol.
If you haven't watched this movie yet....stop watching this link and find out when and where it's playing near you, then go see it. ...............now.

Yasemin BAHAR how was music even created if you can’t even hear it? you don’t know what sounds good together and all music must be created to hear. It’s not like you can strap headphones up to a cello 🤔 I wonder how they did it
You can easily listen to music and speak. For the latter, just go somewhere with a louder exterior noise.
Giglio i haven’t seen the movie but i just assumed they were listening to music created before humanity had to keep silent
Yasemin BAHAR the movie is set in the future and the problem theyre experiencing has only been going on for about a year and a half.
Love that he cared enough to cast a truly deaf person to play a deaf character.
I like how they chose a board game that regularly tears families apart - that’s good foreshadowing 🤓👌🏽 amazing movie!
Amazing cast. Amazing talents. Amazing movie.
Just amazing, you guys.
script writer must have had an easy job
Mats James took less than 10 minutes
Most of the script is scene direction.
There was still talking/dialogue, some of it was just asl
@@Anna-ny7ks facepalm... so sorry!
I know you're probablyjoking but you should really take a look at the script. The whole thing is amazing, they designed the text according to the sound design directions. It's the only script I've ever thought was actually engaging to read.
lmao my family would be gone in .2 seconds

Not complaining tho...
You should watch A24 horror films then
Exactly most horror movies are the same price to watch them even though I know they're going to have the same ending in the same plot but this was so different and I really enjoyed it even though he died
Megan Garr you really havn’t seen a lot of great horror movies then have you
@@carlibeal8999 yeah I guess not but I still really enjoy a few but some I could tell the ending 3 mintues in
good horror movies aren't on netflix.
This movie was disturbing. I love it.

I could watch him talk about break downs of this film for hours. The way he thinks is so interesting. Absolutely brilliant!
THIS IS THE MOST INTERESTING VIDEO I'VE EVER WATCHED. why can't they interview actors and directors like this all the time???
This scene was definitely one of the best scenes in the whole film. And what really sold me to it was how Johns eyes dart around after having put out the fire.
John is a master of conveying emotion with only a subtle look and he was the perfect choice to act in this, and direct the young actors to convey the correct facial expressions.
He’s an amazing director and actor! The part where he sacrificed himself for his kids and died made me cry so much 😭😭😭😭
Loved this film.
John will always be haunted with The Office comments in videos he’s in
This movie is a must watch. Its one of those movies where you are going to be referencing the cinematic ques, scenes, and the beauty of how well the actors are so well in-tuned with their characters. Take a date, family, or go alone, its worth the ticket, popcorn, and drink.
I just realized this but if they ever made a “the last of us” movie john would be such a good fit for joel
Gio Reyess yesss oh my god !!!
That’s literally all I kept thinking when watching it
what about hugh jackman (Logan) as joel? He would be good too
I thought that too!
Yes! the whole scenery of this movie gave me HUGE 'The Last Of Us' vibes.
*Lantern fall*
John: 👁️,__,👁️(looking at the camera)
It must have been hard to memorize all of their lines.
Lmao
Joey Healy I wonder how deaf person memorize the line
Wakanda Frappuccinos
are you fuckin serious
how does a deaf person know what to do on a screen?
Wakanda Frappuccinos wtf man
I absolutely love and adore this movie so much . The sound design is perfect and the tension is so high that I got a major headache after the film because I was too nervous LOL . Great great job ❤️

I think people don’t realise but John is brilliant in filmmaking
This movie is awesome, horror movies are changing! The cast is perfect! I'm so happy for John
Beatrice Boldorini they're going back to how they used to be. Actually scary with suspense and tension build up. Watch older horror movies
+D M what about changing back to the old originals? That makes more sense.
Anyone else get this on their recommendations after the new movie trailer came out?
I’m the theater the lantern breaking was so much louder and the loudness was incredibly powerful the clip does not do it justice

This was such a great film. I cannot wait for the sequel.
Haven't seen it yet, but I have an unbelievably good feeling about it.
sucksqueezebangblow ohhh it's soooo good I promise u
sucksqueezebangblow go Watch it
I simply loved this film.
Millie’s character is very human in the sense that she reacts the way anyone else would being put in that situation.
hmm i don't remember this episode of the office
Haha wow, I never heard that one before.
Omg dude this wasn’t the office it was the quiet place. Get your facts right
Loxer nice joke i aint getting whooooshed today

He explains everything so well! Although I did think the first half of the movie dragged. I ended up loving it. Cried when he said I love you to the girl.

amazing film! shoutout to john krasinski's beard
Casper Yaaaaass the beard!
Just watched the trailer for part 2 & I'm excited for it.
Describe the movie:
Basically a ASMR turned into a disaster.
Loved the movie. I sort of imagine a prequel will be coming along. There are some questions though. How are they getting the electricity? Generator makes noise if they are using generators. And some people are also saying they could've just wore layers of socks to dampen their footsteps.
MRfisheri
could be the use of solar panels and plus using socks outside would be a pain. I say it would be smart to cover the whole floor with carpet or soft material and maybe mark where the squeaky noises are with paint
If you used socks the gravel could make noise against itself
John is so humble and down to earth. I really hope he does more directing after the Quiet Place sequel
Kritheek Beemadi there is a sequel coming? ☺️
