Muslims (such as myself) love going to Umrah especially with loved ones because we feel at peace and we feel closer to God (Allah). I went to do Umrah with my family before and would love to go again it really is a very beautiful and peaceful experience.

These are Hamas' goals. Their leaders have even outright said that they need Palestinian blood to be spilled, especially of the elderly, women, and children. They need those people to be killed so they can use those deaths as propaganda, which is working, and they also use those deaths to radicalize more Palestinians to become terrorists, which is also working. Hamas has no reason to try and keep Gazan civilians safe when they are benefiting from their deaths. Did they build bomb shelters for the civilians? No. Would they let civilians use the tunnels to be safe? No, they said the tunnels are only for Hamas and it is the job of the UN and Israel to protect Gazan civilians. Hamas doesn't care one bit about the lives of Gazan civilians unless they can use them as human shields and their suffering for propaganda.
