- Hey guys! I finally got around to do this easy and quick crochet ribbed tube top tutorial! This is part of the lounge wear crochet set! The tutorial for the pants is up on my channel so go check it out! This top is the perfect one-day or weekend project and is quick to work-up. We will be using a hdc ribbed stitch for the body of the top and add ruffles along the bottom to create a nice shape and balance out the wide crochet pants. This top is truly easy to make, we will be creating a rectangle and using an elastic band along the top so that it fits nice and snug. As always, this crochet project will be measurement based and fully customizable.
Please let me know if you decide to make this top! If you like this video don't forget to subscribe, and please let me know in the comment section below if you have any questions or feedback.
Notes
_______________________________
-For a tighter and less "holey" top, you can use a smaller sized hook (ie., 3.5-4 mm) and use a tighter stitch (back loop sc stich).
-If you don't have elastic, you can make a ribbed band using back loop slip stiches/sc or do a front post/back post dc band.
-If you'd like, you can do a regular hdc for the first and last stitch of every row for a neater edge.

So cute!
Im still working on the pants.
If I want to add straps to the tube any suggestions?
You could make two long straps, one on the front panel and one on the back panel, right around the end of the clavicle bone area and tie the strap at the top of your shoulder into a bow! Then do this on both sides. I think it would look really cute this way and it would be easy to put on/take off
So glad you made the tutorial for this 😊
Just one question. 🙋🏼♀️
I’ve never been able yet and still figured out how to do the foundation chainless stitches like you did here for the beginning … the foundation dc … so could I just make a chain to length and do the 1st row with normal hdc’s ?
But I’ve never been able to know if a pattern calls only for the foundation Chainless stitch how does one figure out how many normal chains and stitches in next row to do to equal what the foundation chainless is ? Anyway you can describe this to me please? 🙏🏻
Thanks for this tutorial 🥰
Hello! You can absolutely make a chain first then do the hdc in the second row 😊 I also have a video up on how to do the chainless stitch if you wanted to give it another shot. If the pattern calls for a chainless sc, then you would make a chain plus 1 extra stitch for the turning chain. For hdc and dc, I personally chain 2 for the turning chain…so I would make the chain and add 2 more stitches for the turning chain! I hope this makes sense 💗
So if a pattern calls for a chainless double crochet foundation of 30 for example..I would do the 30 chains then plus 2 and so on for other stitches? Is that the guidelines that equals to a foundation chain?
😜
Thanks 🙏🏻
Yes! So if you need 30, do 32 (2 for the turning chain) and start the dc/hdc into the 3rd stitch
