You really need to use a lighter yarn and a LOT more light in order for ppl to be able to follow what you’re doing, esp beginners. You don’t need to do a whole garment in the lighter yarn, but you need to do a sample size where your audience can follow what you’re doing. Watch channels like hooked by Robin, bag o day crochet, Tamara Kelly/Moogly, The Crochet Crowd, or one of the other really big channels that have been here for 10+ yrs to see how they do their instruction. For experienced crocheters or even advanced beginners just the verbal instructions is fine bc we know what your referencing. But newbies do not.
Omg you are amazing I have been researching for a dang week for a top that I would like! Im tired of crop tops and spaghetti strings! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you so much!
i’m making this right now and it’s my first time crocheting clothing, so we’ll see how it goes. thank you so much for giving us the pattern for free, it’s so generous of you 🩷🩷🩷
I love thiisssss design it’s so cute and your explanations are on point !! Thank you so much for sharing your work, I’m making one right now for myself !! Keep going I’m here for it :))))
I think I’m doing something wrong. The top part of the shirt that isn’t supposed to be slanted is somewhat slanted. I don’t know what to do. This is the second time I’m redoing it and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong please help
I’m pretty sure that due to the type of stitch it will be slanted a little bit, but you just have to straighten it out (also blocking the piece would help I imagine). Also just double check that you’re doing the same amount of stitches (and haven’t accidentally increased/decreased)
hiii i'm working on this right now and i'm on row 10 or so - trying to keep it loose but my work is definitely curling a lot. should i frog and start over, or will it lie flatter as i go on?
No matter how much i thank you it will never be enough!!!! Thank you for making a new crochet top design! I always wanted to crochet a top but all of the designs are very revealing so thank you so much for this and I hope you know I will keep supporting you as long as i can!! Gosh thank youuuuuu again
I love it! I def have to add to the list. Would you be able to do a small brief short on row two with lighter yarn and a small chain swatch? My brain is trying understand which v to go into 😅
I just finished making this! I’m so excited to style outfits! You did an amazing job explaining and at first I was confused, but I’m also pretty new to crocheting so that’s probably why haha. This was also super fun to make! Thank you so much ❤️
i really love the knit look!!! would it be possible to add sleeves to this?? like just sectioning off the armpit part from the parts u wanna slip stitch together and crocheting in a round until the sleeves are ur desired length - would that look weird cuz it's not the knit-like stitch that was used on the torso??
i have a question, are we allowed to sell an item made from this tutorial if we give proper credit and everything. its totally ok if not and i understand if it's your original design and you dont want us to make profit from it. but anyways i absolutly love this design and you are amazing!
You added so much happiness to my life! I love this design and your takes on crochet, and mostly, I ADORE this knitted look and how you explain it so crearly. It brought so much joy into my crocheting!!Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🤍🎀🫶🏻💖🛐
thanks for this tutorial! I’m making the top right now! I’ve been having an issue where the slanted hem seems like it’s at a steeper angle than what you show in the video. Do you have any tips? I tried making the increases less often but that makes the hem a bit wonky looking.
hm, I remember thinking mine was steep too as I was working on it but then after finishing the panel it looked less steep. Not sure if it’s the same case for you. If not, then you could try increasing every 3rd and 4th row as opposed to every 3rd row.
Hi! I love this tutorial. The top is gorgeous and the steps are easy to follow! I accidentally made it too short, is there a way for me to fix it without having to redo?
Yes you can! It might be less stretchy though, so you may want to measure the widths for the two panels (back one especially) with the fabric slightly stretched out
hi! you can totally make the back panel full length. Just chain the same amount as the starting chain for the front panel so it connects nicely. For the sleeves, you can use the same stitch, and chain a length long enough to go from the top of your shoulders to below your wrists, be careful because it will shrink slightly. Crochet until it can wrap around your arm, and you can sew it onto the back and front panels. Good luck!
If you were to knit it you would probably knit it top down that way you could cast off and decrease for the triangular hem at the bottom. Give it a try! Maybe try looking up knit triangle to get some ideas.
ill have to attempt again :( im not sure where i went wrong but everything came out so wonky and weird, and i ended up without enough room to make my straps
I AM OBSESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!! only issue is i made my front and back panels but when putting it on to do the arm holes, the top is too small/ the fabric doesn't stretch... any recs?
currently doing this top, it’s so nice! however i have a question about what to do if i’ve already reached the length i want, but not my desired width? is there anything to do how to fix this? thank you i love this pattern!!
I‘m trying to make this top right now but for some reason the side without the increased stitches on the front panel also tapers in? I‘ve counted and the stitch number is correct so I don‘t really know what I‘m doing wrong… any tips maybe?
making this for valentines day! I have 10 days to finish the project, yikes. I am super excited tho and I am going to be pairing this up with a rose crochet choker yay! I will update u guys on vday!
Yeah no. A half double crochet involves going through the 3 loops you have on the hook. This yarn over slip stitch pulls through 2 loops, like a normal slip stitch would just that instead of pulling through 1 loop, you pull through 2
yes otherwise the neck side and the hem side would have increases. alternating between the first and last stitches of rows means only the bottom part will be asymmetrical!
Yes it increases every third row, alternating between increasing at the end and at the beginning. Just like someone else commented this keeps only the hem assymetrical;)
Sorry I don’t think I was clear I mean on the Increase there were two different versions one where the increase happened at the end of the row you did two increases into the last stitch and then one where you had increased into the starting stitch of the next row after you turned your work. Which one are you supposed to do for the whole panel or does it switch between? Thanks for answering my question even though I messed it up haha
@@lanilyn5565 you were correct, it switches between the two. That way you’re only increasing on the side that slants, not the side that stays straight for the neckline.
@@lanilyn5565i am confused by the same thing!! it looks like rows 4-5 there is no increase. i have been increasing at the start of ever other row (only on the asymmetrical side) but i’m not sure if this is going to make the angle too sharp if i should not be increasing this frequently. a written description of rows 2-7 might be helpful!
its so nice finally seeing a crochet top thats not backless!!!!!!
It’s so hard finding one!!

thank you for the tutorial!! i’m making it rn but i’m unsure if my yarn is going to be enough.. how many rows did you do for the front panel?🥹

How frustrating!!! The second row i cant see that hole you’re referring to and can i innthe other video.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THANK YOU!!!!! 🫶 I’ve been WAITING for this one, you’re so talented - it’s so pretty
yayyyy can’t wait for you to try it❤❤❤
How many row is this pls I want to tweak the front panel to be like v neckline
Is there a way to do this but with long sleeves?
Just a question....if I used a smaller crochet hook would it work to make the holes in the final garment smaller too?
Omg I saw this on tiktok, thanks for doing a tut!! If I want to make it just straight at the bottom, how long do u think it would take to make?
it took me around 4 days to make this one!
Are you planing on making a knot version?

hey i love your videos! i have a question.. do you think i can use cotton yarn for this top?
Yes you can! It might be less stretchy though, so you may want to measure the widths for the two panels (back one especially) with the fabric slightly stretched out
Hey!! I would love to make it a bit more modest, what should I do to make it full sleeves and cover up the entire back like the front panel? ❤
hi! you can totally make the back panel full length. Just chain the same amount as the starting chain for the front panel so it connects nicely. @@madebycoral oh thank u soo much!!! Ur such a talented fairy ❤️
How long did it take you make the complete top?
i love this 🥺
i wonder if i could knit it instead (i prefer knitting)
the increases would work the same in that case possibly?

hii can u tell how much yarn you ended up using while making this
my yarn keeps twisting and it’s really frustrating 😩😩 anyone know why ? I’m not even making my stitches tight :(
Hey! How many rows did you do for the front and back panel?
hiii I love this top but I want it abit loose, how do you make it a bit loose?
yesss! you are so so so talented and i hope you keep posting more tutorials! i aspire to be as creative as you :)
thank you so much queen 💗
How much yarn did you use for this top?🙏🏽
i literally could find a 7.5 mm hook (im using weight 4 yarn) so im using an 8 mm and i really hope it works bc i LOVE this top so much
ill have to attempt again :( im not sure where i went wrong but everything came out so wonky and weird, and i ended up without enough room to make my straps

after making some stitches in the first row after chain row, the stitches move by a LOT and i cant find where to insert my hook anymore ;((
Hi! I’m currently working on this project. How many rows did you have for the from and back panels?
I just made thissssss❤❤ so easy to follow
such good work. I love that color a lot. You make it look so easy. Aunt Louise
Thank you Aunt Louise ❤️❤️❤️
Can you maybe measure your panels as kind of an example how long they should be? ❤
my front panel measures ~16 in and increased to ~ 22 in. My back panel measures ~ 13 in!
@@madebycoral thank you so much for responding 😊
thank you goddess
I love this pattern!!
But mine never do that lovely curl at the end- is it because of the yearn I use(100% cotton) or the way I’m joining the ends?!
AAAAAAA THANK U SO MUCH FOR SHARING
Love your videos! Very excited to try this out! 😊
thank you so much I’m excited too🤭
i wanna make this but ✨backless✨
Go for it! It would probably work if you just chained to make the arm holes, and then followed the directions to make the straps🤩
Your channel has the best tutorials I swearrrr like I am actually gonna wear this stuffff
You’re so helpful, thank you for teaching us ❤️
do you think i could make this using category 2 yarn?
I think that’s the same weight I used… lightweight/dk/2
Me encanta!
Really pretty top ,,loved it👍🫶
YESSSSS
Too complicated, sorry😢 I can’t distinguish what do I need to do because your yarn color doesn’t help. 😢
this top is so beautiful
I‘m trying to make this top right now but for some reason the side without the increased stitches on the front panel also tapers in?
I‘ve counted and the stitch number is correct so I don‘t really know what I‘m doing wrong… any tips maybe?
hi, yes unfortunately that’s just how the stitch manifests itself but no need to worry, I explain about this at 15:03!
There I explain the same phenomenon for the back panel (slightly different). If you try to keeps your tension loose it will help!
Oh I see, I guess I was just too eager to start so I didn‘t catch that part haha
Thank you for the explanation and the great pattern
This was a great tutorial, thank you! Also you look gorgeous in the top❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
If i use weight 4 yarn instead of 3 will it still work?
Yes! Definitely. The fabric will just be slightly thicker
Thank you!!
This top is so cute love !!!!
Thank you so much ❤❤
What brand of yarn are you using?
It’s the loops and threads luxe merino
how much grams of yarn did you use?
I’m sorry I don’t measure in grams but I used around 400 yards of light weight yarn!
Does the 3 from the yarn means the needle strength?
it’s just another classifier for the yarn weight (light, dk, 3)
oh its so beautiful!! im going to try to make a vest with this stitch, but im trying to figure out how to decrease with this stitch aaaa
you can try yarn over, insert hook and pull yarn through next stitch, pull yarn through next stitch and all of the loops
@@madebycoral thank you!!! im gonna try it!
Muchassss gracias
Wow 😍😍 thank you so much for this tutorial 🥰🥰
you’re so welcome 💗💗💗

Just for future reference, this is a half double crochet stitch. Great job!!
it’s not the same:) half double crochet pulls through 3 loops. Yo slip stitch pulls through 2 loops.
Yeah def not a half double crochet
Yeah no. A half double crochet involves going through the 3 loops you have on the hook.
This yarn over slip stitch pulls through 2 loops, like a normal slip stitch would just that instead of pulling through 1 loop, you pull through 2
i absolutely love this top but its a bit see through and idk what to wear inside to avoid a nip slip🥲
just wear a regular bra;)
I wish i was smarter because i would really live to figure out how to square off the neck line, as in give it either a scopped or square neck line
Are we supposed to alternate increasing at the end of the rows and increasing at the start of the next row. Does that make sense?
yes otherwise the neck side and the hem side would have increases. alternating between the first and last stitches of rows means only the bottom part will be asymmetrical!
