I was 10 yrs old when I saw this at a friend's house back in the day and immediately begged my parents for a C64 for Xmas. I remember you could change the background colours and water reflections as well. And apparently Hubbard sampled sounds from Enter The Dragon for the FX. Great memories.
I only had the pleasure of playing IK+ on the Amiga 500. Looking at this now, if you'd been given IK+ on the C64 for Christmas 1987 you'd have felt like you were playing something very special indeed. The animation is amazing and it looks colourful for a C64 game.
I also noticed, that the other bonus round - where you have to kick the bombs, just like in the Amiga version - is missing from the Commodore 64 version.
Never beat the bonus games in IK or IK+ apart from the fuse bombs on Amiga IK+ by sheer fluke! Says a lot that IK/IK+ remained the 1vs1 fighter benchmark without being bettered years after. RIP & thanks for the gaming memories Archer. 🍺👍
I love how when ya join the game the gong goes off!!! You can change the background colours on the keyboard!!! The backing track is ahead of its time!!! The sound of a good knock-out is kick ass and you can pants the characters too haha!!! The detail in IK+ is off its head!! 11/10 🍻😉🍻 Imagine if he'd done Barbarian+ 🍻😎🍻
Rest in Peace Archer MacLean and thank you for the great games.

IK+ on the Amiga was great fun as well, but the fact it's just as fun on the C64 wins it for me

Rest in peace, Archer Maclean ✌️🕹️.

1:18 Niiice!
Cheesy in a cool way! 😎
hahah te ball challenge i imagine doing it with a very low speed lol
Bonus round was the worst part of the game. Too often, too long, too repetetive, too boring. Game would be better without it.
