Me and my father used to play this a lot back in the 90s. I remember the first time we tried to boost our in game car with a better engine. The program told us that "This won't fit dummy". We are not English, so we needed to figure out what "fit" and "dummy" means. After some time we were able to finish this great game.
I always raced pink slips from the beginning. This way you get quickly to beat The King. One should always tune the motor after buying it and after every race. Butch was my most hated opponent.
I remember this game, was my fav C64 game of all time. Used to always buy the cheap blue chev sedan with a 283 and auto, swap it out for a manual, roof chop and 2 x 4bbls had enough to beat the green chrysler with the engine hanging out the hood in a road race for pink slips and would set me up to beat all comers after that
I was 1 year old when this game came out and I am blown away by how in depth it is. Reminds me of Motor City Online which was popular about 15 years ago
Or Street Legal Racing: Redline which was single player, but was so damn good. Best mechanic sim/racing game out there and it was like half the price. One of the main devs from SLRR is making a new game called Street Tuning Evolution which looks amazing too. Can't wait for it to come out
I had no idea there were other ports till recently, the pc speaker theme tune of street rod one and two are permanently burned into my mind haha, also "stunts"
idk I thin whomever made this rom rigged it as I cant even come close to beating him n the drag.. doesnt help the c64 controller button is terrible.. half the time it dont register your pressing it so u have to mash it to get it to shift close to perfect..

Amazing the memories it brings back!! Was right up there for me too...great story of how you set up to win! Thanks for watching :)
Imagine playing the C64 version back in the day then going to friends house and seeing the Amiga version. You'd have been so amazed and jealous!
Some people just appreciate what they have.

The best version of this game was for the amiga but the PC version was crap
Yeah I had to PC version too and it wasn't even as good as the C64 version! haha

I played both the C64 and PC versions and liked both, what was it about the PC version you didn't like?
