It was so satisfying on the few occasions when you managed to do a double-head kick that successfully knocked out both of your opponents at the same time!
One of my most favourite games! I especially loved it to press the "T" on the keyboard and when the fighters stood still, they lost their trousers and you could hit em easily! :D
Bro. You don't know what it means to me to hear the sound effects after all these years. Ty so mutch. I loved this game and always will. Amiga 500 Commondore was the real deal. Edit: Almost forgot to listen to this every day!
The game had good commentaries, a great sound and was totally ingenious in terms of combat moves and fun. i played it with my brother for a long time and we had a lot of fun. no PC emulator was good enough for us. I only found it brilliant with a joystick on the Amiga. ;-))
The Amiga CPU must be spending at least 30% of its time drawing Pacman, birds, submarines, the sun's reflection etc. Super tight interrupt code needed for that.
the first time in my life, when i was to kid, I have seen what karate is, always like a child after i see on tv karate and some movies of Bruce Lee (i know Bruce Lee is other style of fight)
Is it worth trying to license this and reboot it for modern computers. 20+ years ago I heard someone approach Archer Mclean for a deal to license the game for a SNES conversion. He agreed to this for a fee of £25k but the deal didn't get past that. I don't know if it would be feasible to try and negotiate for the rights with his estate or what the price would be today. But say if it was £5k for the rights do those on here who loved the game then think it's worth trying to set up a kickstarter to make that happen. Is there a demand to pay for the reboot? I'm semi-serious but also just gauging interest generally. I would do the development myself and target Android, iOS, Win10 and MacOS.
This has been bothering me for more than 30 years now. When you entered your high score, the fictitious high scores before you, show, if i recall correctly: why not try press iiiiiii. What was that about?
I always wanted to be the blue guy. Also, I wanted to the option to fight only one opponent. Well. One cant have it all. The game was a blessing anyway. Loved it as a child.
Legendary classic game for the Amiga. When me and my friends played this game, we laughed so hard we couldn't even relax for a little bit 😹! Thanx for a legendary classic gameplay video. 😺🐈😸💾🎸👍🐾
Rip Archer McLean, the creator of the game who passed away on 24th of December 2022. Thank you so much for the memories!
Masterpiece of a game he made.
RIP legend...I loved this game. Played it first on the Amstrad CPC and was blown away when I got to play the Amiga version. I miss those times.
One of my earliest gaming memories. Oh man, so much fun.
It was so satisfying on the few occasions when you managed to do a double-head kick that successfully knocked out both of your opponents at the same time!
OMG YE I remember that ahahah
Haha. Yes!!
Now i am 49 years old, My Lucky Generation is here 🤗⭐
Loved this game when I was a kid! Music was awesome and the subtle animation happening in the background was always nice to watch.
Still my brain uses the sound effects of this game to narrate my fantasy fights
auuhauhauhaauhuhauhaauhauhauhauhhah me too sometimes!
Stolen from Enter the dragon hahah
One of my most favourite games! I especially loved it to press the "T" on the keyboard and when the fighters stood still, they lost their trousers and you could hit em easily! :D
Do not lose your pants, I mean heads, over this ! XD
those sound effects are total GOAT
One of the best games ever. I had an Amiga 500 and it was one of my favourites.
It is amazing how games on the NES and even N64 didn't date well, when Amiga titles such as this still look and play amazingly well.
Totally agree!
Believe that if it makes you happy.
😂
Bruce Lee Enter the dragon sound samples! Gotta love it!
always wondered how they were allowed the rights to this
@@MrLeemacdougall it was a different time maybe the rights holder did not persue it, just a guess though
@@mr_wildschweinwhy should they.
@@steffenhansen6204because of intellectual property
@@mr_wildschweinits more a tribute to the film it selfe
9:10. This was my motivation when ever I played this. To try to get two out with that stepping high sick kick. Awesome gane
Oh yea, i remember this
TO GET THAT BRUCE LEE CLEANING UP FEELING 😂
=)
This, Silkworm, Golden Axe and Hostages. I loved those days
Loved it! I remember there was some "secret" key combination you could do to cycle through different colors of the sky in the background.
Exactly! You could change the sun color as well.
It's an absolute classic! So many moves! Seriously technical! I love how the sprites get knocked out and/or down. It's so funny!
Looved this as younger. Also that some soundeffects are lifted from Enter The Dragon makes it evwn more awesome.
Those "Enter The Dragon" sounds 😅😆 good memories!
Bro. You don't know what it means to me to hear the sound effects after all these years. Ty so mutch. I loved this game and always will. Amiga 500 Commondore was the real deal.
Edit: Almost forgot to listen to this every day!
The fighting and impact sounds are the same ones from Enter the Dragon :)
@@Psikeadelic lol
When you get yourself to black belt, thats when the game really starts ;)
always loved the headbutt/bite stance then getting smashed in the face straight after
Loved this game as a kid!
WHAT A GAME THIS WAS.....!!!!! EPIC BEYOND WORDS.
My first fighting game and one of my favorites back then. The music was epic.
I love how they just ripped sound effects from Enter the Dragon.
Still playing this on psvita amiga emulator... I have never stopped playing this game! BEST GAME EVER
RIP Archer Maclean.
Who could forget all these intense multiplayer matches ! INTERNATIONAL KARATE !
C64 music is unbeatable!
This is Amiga Jack-san
The hitboxes on this were brutal
And the spacing, Literally had to be inch perfect 👌🏽
now i've noticed, that they climb up in the belts during the fighting, so 50000 points means black belt. I haven't played it a lot but was new to me.
One of my alltime favourites ! Good memories and i still LOVE the music and the graphics design ! The bouncing balls where nerve wrecking…. 🥵
That music, those sound effects , those floatin heads
Music & sounds are just epic. GG, i never success beyond violet
Average gamer, you played this very well. I always had the bombs take me out
R.I.P. Archer Maclean
Still the funniest game ever made.
Even after all these years I am still laughing my butt off about the sound effects and the visuals.
The game had good commentaries, a great sound and was totally ingenious in terms of combat moves and fun. i played it with my brother for a long time and we had a lot of fun. no PC emulator was good enough for us. I only found it brilliant with a joystick on the Amiga. ;-))
I actually busted a joystick on this game … On several games by the way.
RIP Archer Maclean 😢
Survival horror game.
:D
it was my favorite game.sounds and graphics awasome for 80's
When you pull off a head kick...
"IN THE FACE!!"
The Amiga CPU must be spending at least 30% of its time drawing Pacman, birds, submarines, the sun's reflection etc. Super tight interrupt code needed for that.
QUE HERMOSURA DE PAISAJE
brutal game. you had to be perfect. It didn't like it when you got to black belt and went a bit mental.
Ikr? Got a brown belt and even at 1. Kyu it was insane. Such a satisfying game though
the first game I played when I was 8, 32 years ago!
Holy hell, I got flashbacks when that soundtrack kicked in!
9:12. Pacman!
Always loved that "kick the dog"-sound - great game.
the first time in my life, when i was to kid, I have seen what karate is, always like a child after i see on tv karate and some movies of Bruce Lee (i know Bruce Lee is other style of fight)
Ah, childhood memories!
This is genuinely the origin of modern fighting games. Street Fighter is basically IK with motion inputs for special moves.

I would definitely support this financially
The Bruce Lee sounds, just love everything about this game
mother of all fighting games!
My first and foremost motivation to play was not to win the black belt. It was to hear them: AUUU!!
Love the game, but it felt like it had such a huge input lag...
Amiga rulez! 😁😍
I still play this on my amiga 500 to this day😊
Old memories :)
Just love(d) the sound effects!
Amazing!!! Loved this so much!
Honestly thats imp[impressive as hell sprite work for its time

HOW CAN I ENABLE THE MOVE SOUNDS ?
That was good! Nicely done
I have the C64 version on Wii. IK and IK+. Also have the arcade version of karate champ on switch. Great games.

00:05:10 man that round was close!! 🖤
Thanks for sharing in 4:3 aspect ratio!
Someone tell me after all these years, was back flip left button and left on the joystick?
Sure was :) There was only one button one the Amiga joystick (left and right button did the same action)
Love this game wish I had it to play now
Amiga's best fighting game,
Was this the one where you could practice jumping over some spinning pole or some shit? I remember that vividly.
That was either World Karate Championship or International
Chambers of Shaolin?
Full Contact?
@@shadowscone4690 thats the One!
Loved this game. Especially in 2 player mode, although I always got my ass kicked ;)
And head butt frenzy. Fun az
Amk nostalgie pur i love it
am i the only one that ever got to the second level in the dojo in this game
The Amiga graphics must have been shocking for a C64 user and for any 8-bit user in general😁
I loved this game..
sweaty hands slip off joysticks
yesterday i kicked my dog in the ass and he sounded exactly like that 0:40 lol
This had me dying
Thx 4 uploading
I could barely play this game for laughing.
After the frist two karate kids were big surprises in the United States and world wide they want to make a game
Turbo mode forever!
You pressed T and their trousers fell down...if you typed a swear u got 2 warnings then the game rebooted lol
"Survival bonus"
Great. Thanks. I survive!
