  • Today I am making a cute apron with a cross back. I will show details on how to make your own bias tape, including how to cut, sew, iron and sew bias tape to encase the fabric edges. I'm using a kwiksew pattern but this is a traditional design that you can find in various patterns out there. Thanks for watching!

I loved the tip about breaking the fabric down into smaller pieces for grain issues. Ty!

How cute that matching little girl dress. I just made a little girl dress with a bodice and bodice lining. It said Easy on the pattern but it took me 3 weeks to sew! I haven’t sewn since Jr High. I’m 65! I’m slowly teaching myself watching videos and I really fell in love with your videos. I’ll bet your channel will grow fast. You remind me of my Jr High Home sec teacher. She was very nice and patient and gave great instructions!

That is so sweet! Just think of it like a jigsaw puzzle that you just put together one piece at a time...

Nice pattern! I should use an apron more often. I’ve ruined so many shirts 🤦🏽‍♀️

I would love to see some honey harvesting or cooking videos. I'll be honest I have never used a sewing machine or sewed anything in my life but my aunt and my grandmother hand made everything they wore so watching your videos is very comforting. I can't even tell u how many times I fell asleep to the sound of a sewing machine during my childhood.

There is definitely something comforting and therapeutic about the sound of an old sewing machine. Thank you so much for watching

The pocket you used on the wide leg pants would look cute on this apron tunic. Also, I always need an FBA but I bet I could use my favorite kwik Sew pattern instead. It’s a sleeveless top with some pleats from neckline down toward bust. Love your channel and lessons!

I like the idea of that pocket. Hmmmm. So glad you like the channel!

I just made the Simplicity version of this pattern. I did a trial version because I am going to do some tie dyeing and give them as gifts. I got some sort of light canvas/duck fabric at the thrift shop for $1.50 and only had enough to make a size small. I was easy to put together, but it is tiny. My size 2 sister may be able to wear it, but I can't think of anyone else.
I did make the bias tape with the 25mm tool. I'm also a quilter so that skill will come in mighty handy.

It would’ve been nice on the adult apron to put the material that matched the pockets as the biased tape. Would have made him more stunning garment.

Since it was a gift, I no longer own the apron, but I can tell you that you basically pull it over your head. Put your arms into the sections they go in, and your head in the head section and pull the whole thing over your head, if that helps. :)

Does Kwick Sew still have this pattern?

I'm not sure, but it is a common design that other companies probably have too

I love your videos. I was wondering how much honey you get from all your hives?

My husband pulls many many gallons off a couple times a year. It's a lot of work and a lot of maintenance all winter, but it is very good honey. ☺️

Where can I buy the pattern?

  • @elizabethc3842
    @elizabethc3842 Рік тому

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that you aren't supposed to cut patten, you trace it so you can use all the sizes. If you wanted to make one as a gift for someone who is bigger than you you will have to buy another pattern...

    • @mybucoliclife

It's kind of a personal preference issue 🙂 if that makes you happy go for it !
