    This is a great pattern; just made two aprons with fabrics from my stash, one for me and one for my daughter in law. I 'm so glad Nancy' s site is still going strong and her legacy is being kept alive.

    I have this pattern and have made many, many of theset one time and leave opening day leave to sell. I do it a little different and I like it better and it’s easier. I attach piece of band to back so the straps come across the shoulders to the front of top. This way you can add pretty buttons. You can stitch totally around everything and leave an opening for turning. This pattern is really a blessing!

    Made this apron tonight after ordering the pattern online. It was fun to make and super easy. Not an advanced seamstress by any means so was happy that this video was available for backup. Didn't need pockets which made the project a lot easier.

    I was very excited to get this apron pattern. I am so glad I did a test for fit before cutting my fabric. It is NOT made for plus size figures! If you are plus size it will take more than 1 yard of each fabric unless the fabric is 60" wide.

    I'm making this crisscross apron now, but I don't understand why the bottom is left open. It seems so unfinished. I saw they are suggesting using the bottom to carry vegetables or weeds etc, but I think I will topstitch the 2 fabrics together at the bottom.

    • @biancatorres2676
      @biancatorres2676 4 роки тому

      Nancy, how did closing the bottom of the Crisscross Apron go? I just got this pattern and was thinking the same thing about how the bottom is left open.
      EDIT: I've already sewn mine without leaving the bottom hem open, and it turned out fine. I just left an opening at the bottom so I could turn it all out, and closed that opening during topstitching.

    • @biancatorres2676
      @biancatorres2676 4 роки тому +1

      @@sandys792 The bottom hem does not need to be left open for the apron to be reversible. Do you have this pattern? The pattern explains why it is left open, but most of us don't need that function in the kitchen. I've already made a crisscross apron with a closed bottom hem, and it is still reversible. I just left several inches open to turn it all out. I closed that opening during topstitching.

      Hi Geraldine,
      Please click on the link below to purchase the pattern at nancysnotions.com:
      www.nancysnotions.com/product/crisscross+apron+pattern.do?code=NNOADV-1320
      The pattern can be altered for different sizes and the pattern designer (Mary Mulari) explains in the instructions with the pattern.
      Thank you for watching and commenting.

    Hi Kate! Can you tell me if the front and back layers of the apron hem can be sewn closed together instead of sewing separately a 1/2 inch all the way around (I’d like to to sew closed front and back fabric at the hem leaving about a 2 inch gap open to turn the apron inside out)? I don’t want the two contrasting fabric layers of the hem left open at the bottom like the look of a slip, make sense?

      She does sew the bottom hems together (6:48); it appears to be edgestitching, although it's hard to tell.
