While on the subject of pinball, I'll always remember fondly of Empire Interactive's Pro Pinball quartet: The Web (1996) Timeshock! (1997 - my personal favorite) Big Race USA (1999) Fantastic Journey (2000) Awesome soundtracks on Timeshock! Even better, they're in Red Book format💿. On good speakers, it rocks! 🤘 Edit: all available on PC & PS1 with the exception of The Web being also on Sega Saturn. Of course, PC version is the superior one.
Nice video,I’m intrested in Pinball machine’s since a few years and found out that fysical they are expensive!Starts around 4000 and can go up to 9000.I Just want to have options not to expensive, durable and small But still fun.I want to build myself a mini arcade set up.Arcade panel,Pinball,Racing Seat with pedals and also to play pc games. That way There’s always a lot of fun options to play🎉😃Now with your video I can compare what might work for me.Thanks for your video Made me enthousiast to see what I’m gonna get🤗🤗🤗Have a Nice day

Thankyou for the amazing video, I’m going to be building my first virtual pinball using an original judge dredd cambinet and going to use a 4K 42 inch display, i know it’s going to take time but it’s going to be cheaper than buying a second hand or brand new pinball machine in Australia 🇦🇺
Send them a picture of a PC with two monitors, saying one can be turned to portrait mode. Problem solved. I don't know where the massive misinformation on this came from (yes, I saw the original post by Zen that didn't in any way mention Atgames) but there's no data sent over HDMI that could be used for them to tell what the output device is.
Is this only considering cabinets that can be modded? No mention of Arcade1up pinball; Not as good hardware-wise as Atgames, but still an affordable option with Zen/Williams tables.
Interesting video! I believe retro play is from Australia instead of Austria btw. Too bad though, as I am located in Holland as well, shipping from Austria would have been better hehe. I am wondering: you compare a lot of different machines, but for as far as I can see, some have force feedback and others don't. Some have a real analog nudge, others have buttons. Hard to make a choice!!
I’ve built a full-size virtual pinball machine and I have it up and running. I’m having difficulties installing the software and getting the front into work. Do you know where I could get help with my software installation. I have not been successful by watching UA-cam videos
Thank you for your videos. I am watching all them to learn. My question is about the position of the playfield monitor. I see you have machines with both positions. Do you prefer the reclined back monitor to have the impression of a real pinball machine, or the straight monitor, that fits in the same position of the table glass?
Thanks for the video. I didn't read all of the comments so excuse me if someone already asked this. Are you familiar with the 4K machines from thepinballking in Florida and RecRoomWorld in Columbus, Ohio? Do you have any experience with either? I am considering the top of the line machine made by thepinballking. Thanks!
Thanks for this overview. As someone who has always loved pinball, and new to virtual cabinets this was super informative. I’m absolutely a do it yourself type person, but also don’t want to break the bank. 4K is awesome, but pushing a minimum of 60 FPS on a 43 to 50 inch display can be pricey, so can the monitor itself. What are your thoughts about 144hz at 43”+ display size, then upgrading down the road for the display?
I'd be down to get that smaller bartop virtual pinball kit from GRS, but I know absolutely nothing about what to do to get the software going. I've tried looking into it, but I feel like I know even less than before.
Given that the PC is solid chunk of the high end pinball's cost(1/3 about based on the pre-cut kit cost and the screens), I'd be tempted to just run wires between the pinball and a separate gaming PC. I don't think it was even $20US for a 25 ft (7.6M) HDMI cable from Walmart retail (though, Im' not sure if it'll do 4k), two of those plus a USB extender would be ungainly depending on where it was in relation to the PC, but for the savings it sound good. Wireless HDMI is kinda expensive, but a pair of those would cost about what that video card cost, then you'd need a wireless sender or wireless usb for the controls.
No room unfortunately otherwise a virtual pinball table would be an essential for my mancave (that I also have no room for) that virtual pinball app on android that has judgement day and adams family amoung others does have a cracked version though that I have downloaded to my phone. It's great fun and has at least 100 individual tables taken from real life tables. The acdc one is a personal fave

I have the new version of Haunted House with the black and silver bezel, and updated software so there’s no flipper lag whatsoever! It’s a great, solid machine! Thing is, I really don’t like the old tables much. So I’m gonna sell this and get the 1 Up Attack From Mars pinball IF it EVER comes out!! SO tired of waiting! I wish 1 Up would get their act together cause I’m ready to buy it NOW!
@@rays3995 Oh yeah! I have! Since that last post 5 months ago, I decided to get the Sharpin Ultra! Best choice ever! Got rid of the Haunted House machine. I have more than 50 tables on it right now, and it’s just an insane unit! Putting it together and modding the speakers and all the buttons on it made a great project for me and it’s just SO cool! There’s a limitless amount of tables to put on it, and this thing will last me for years to come! I highly recommend getting one of these instead of any of the other virtual offerings out there like the 1Up machines or the At Games! So many options to choose from on it and the quality is incredible! I also added a couple of cushy padded corner furniture pads which makes leaning into it a pleasure for the palms of my hands! You absolutely gotta look into one of these if pinball is your thing!
I think the arcade 1up is still the best one to buy even when its only 720p 60fps (on a 1080p monitor). The magic seems to be the haptic feedback and the real feel of the ball. Also, You get the "real" Pinball tables from Williams, IMHO the best ones ever made. But i bet my money on best pinball software from zen studios and great looking Cab with haptic feedback Hardware from A1up. Only fear i have is that we dont get these here in europe... again.
I think Atgames they will sell in europe and usa. Arcade1up.. they will come after 3 years or so 🤣 Feedback parts looks really interesting ... seems to be all cabs haves pros or cons.. Curious what can we do with atgames and adding stuff did you see that HDMI input ?
@@WickedGamerCollector i heard the legends pinball is fully compatible with pinball arcade (even the Williams Tables, if you have them) thats a plus. But the hdmi input in that position is a strange choice. I don't want to run my cables visible like that. I hope for some rumble effect on the at games. It should be the easiest choice, because the software already uses it on standard controllers, just put stronger motors in. Let's wait and see...
Concerning pinball legends(atgames) Since the machine will be sold for 599$ in the US 'just like their arcade cabinet' and here at coolshop they sell the arcade cabinet for 799€(inc shipping), I think you can say at most it will also cost 799€.

Yes - it is a nice hobby but very very expensive. A lot of good alternatives in this video.

Unfortunately Legends Pinball is not available in the UK, got to ask WHY ?
Delivery to europe and other parts of the world is a nightmare.
And impossible to find ..😨
I really like Sharpin. I hope one day I can get one.
The problem of the Atgames pinball is that Zen Studios (FX Pinball) won't allow the use of second screen (you have to ask for a code to do that)

What I would like to know. let say i have somewhere between 2000 or 3000 euros. does a virtual pinball compete with the real thing?
You need to order one of those full sized tables just so you can have the largest ever “package from China” video.

Skip FPS, how about the resolution ? Is there anything above full HD ? I thought about using an 55" 4k display for around 300 € or is it overkill ?
no, but your cabinet would have to be custom and it would be pretty large
