Can't believe this in the penultimate episode! What am I going to do with my Saturday afternoons now?
I can't really choose s favourite episode for the series. There are so many moments throughout. My favourite character is between Robin and the Captain. Robin as a multilayered person with a primitive brain but the wisdom of thousands of years of experience. I love his curiosity and interaction with the natural world. And the Captain, just because you wish someone could give him a big hug. I also agree with Tash about Mike and Obi.
Between Pat and Robin's ideal date...I would prefer Pat's generally, as I love the beach, and don't like dressing up, but I'd go with Robin's choices of beverage. I remember Leibfraumilch was considered quite classy in the early 80s in Australia, along with Blue Nun and Mateus, as they were from Europe. This was before we got a bit more confident in our own industry. The wine in a cardboard box was an Australian invention (known here as the goon bag). You could take the bladder containing the wine out of the box and hang it on the rotary clothes line, then spin it around, and whoever it stopped closest to had to scull from the bag. It also had the advantage that when the bladder was empty, you could blow it up through the valve, giving yourself a pillow to sleep off the effects. All class 😁
Australian food...we have wagon wheels, but not some of the other snacks you mentioned. Our chocolate tastes quite different to yours, and I heard it's because we have some additive to stop it melting so fast. We have a few well known ones, like lamingtons (squares of sponge cake dipped in chocolate the covered in coconut), Caramelo Koalas, Twisties (a savoury snack) BBQ Shapes (a savoury biscuit) and of course Tim Tam's. These were the items we got sent from home in 'care packages' when I worked in the UK. We also have the Chiko Roll, which is a tube of pastry wrapped around a gluggy mystery filling and deep fried. Popular among surfers. And we have chicken salt which people put on their chips, which I've never understood. It's like powdered chicken stock.
Looking forward to listening to the last 2 episodes!

Love your nostalgia for school at Christmas time- but sadly this 'all week party' vibe is no longer the case. For teachers it's one of the most stressful times of year with many assessment deadlines looming, and always with too much curriculum to fit into the time that's left before the end of term. There's precious little opportunity to kick back and enjoy festive treats these days.
Listening to HBH has become part of my Saturday morning routine over the last however-long-it's-taken. I shall definitely miss you guys when it's all done and dusted.!
It was only re-listening to this episode this week that I realised (I think) that the 'Good News/ Bad News joke was used in Series 1 when Mike is telling Alison that he has taken out all the loans to start the repairs on the house.....
I love how Thomas starts by being sympathetic to Obi, but very quickly tires of him and tells him to get over it! He has absolutely no self awareness!
As soon as Julian shuffles into the kitchen to make his 'apology' I could feel the tears coming. The stakes are so high, and we are so invested in the lives (and afterlives) of all the residents of Button House, that this is a really important moment.
I tend to agree with Tash that Obi is annoying in this episode - in earlier episodes I feel he is used sparingly and quite well- but here it really is a bit overdramatic.
I find that this episode works really well as a bookend to the first episode - with the Ghosts reversing their opinion of having Mike and Alison in the house. That scene in the kitchen for me is a perfect way to end the series.
Final Final Wrap Up episode of HBH - Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Series feedback:
Favourite character of any series is Robin. In this one he really shines in En Francais, where we see how lonely his existence has been for long periods of time, and how he has come to soak up his eclectic knowldege from all the periods he has existed through.
En Francais is probably my favourite episode as a whole in this series, in a strong field.
My favourite scenes however are the Line Dancing end to episode 5 and Julian's 'Non-apology' in the kitchen in episode 6.

An update on the alliterative phrases:
None in episode 4, but lots of repeating words (there must be a term for this sort of wordplay), like Mike's "Incoming income coming in", and the whole discussion of points and Less Points (Pointless)
In ep 5, the Cap had good ones: Bilge, bunkum and toffee; Nein, nicht, negative; and Terrible tizz.
In this ep, we had: Robin's Tiny toggle (woggle); Pat's: F-f-f-f-fine fellow and the Cap's: Little lad
Two episodes in a row featuring Obi and I preferred the previous one.
I'm not sure how I feel about it being confirmed that Julian pushed Alison out the window. In the first episode, since we never actually see Julian's hands touch Alison, and she is leaning very far out the window, I assumed it was left up to the viewer to decide what happened.
    Series feedback:
Robin in En Francais is definitely a highlight, especially his calm teaching moment while the lady is choking but I also love seeing more of Sophie's life. Mike's scenes with the insurance lady were also great with his nervous joking.
Australian must-try treats - you mentioned the Tim Tam, not sure if you've heard of the Tim Tam Slam (best tried with the original). Bite off a tiny bit of diagonal corners, then use as a straw to drink hot coffee or tea, then pop the whole biscuit in your mouth for some melted goodness. A savory treat is a democracy sausage - barbecued sausage and onions served in a slice of bread, topped with tomato sauce. Often sold by schools as a fundraiser at polling booths, hence the name.

I agree with Caroline, listening to HBH has become a highlight of my week, and I am not ready to say goodbye! Again, I will encourage you to pursue and add US Ghosts to your channel, more episodes but they are so much shorter, I bet it wouldn't be as much of time commitment for you and it'd be interesting to hear your Brit impressions of our US Ghosts.
Obie...I'm with Tash, I really don't like this character. He's just annoying and not in a good way. Too much of him in this episode. A filler for sure. This episode seemed to be a wrap-up on a lot of levels. Kitty "seeing" the baby and misinterpreting the gender was well done. I wonder why none of the other ghosts peaked into Allison's womb to confirm the gender?
The kitchen scene wraps things up well, and I can't help wonder what I would choose. Stay or go?? I'd give the episode an 8.5 overall. Well done but not the best.
My favorite character is still the Captain. My favorite episode from Series 5 has to be Carpe Diem where the Captain dies holding Havers hand. But the first episode, the April Fools episode also is up there in my book. And the Achy Breaky line dance has to be my favorite scene overall from Series 5.
For favorite foods/snacks, here in Louisville KY, the sweet treat has to be either Derby Pie (a copyrighted chocolate nut pie) or Mojeskas (A homemade marshmallow with caramel wrapped around it, covered in chocolate). My favorite savory is a Hot Brown (an open-faced sandwich of turkey breast and bacon, covered in cheesy Mornay sauce, think welsh rarebit poured over a turkey and bacon sandwich, garnished with tomatoes and broiled, eaten with a fork).
