The first time the world heard Angelina sing. The world has waited for every new song she releases ever since. To say she is special doesn't go close to describing the effect she has on us every time she sings.

As you follow Angelina, you will never find the words to adequately express your feelings. How does one describe a child that is recorded singing at eighteen months of age. What two and three year old spends hours scrolling through UA-cam listening to Jazz artists? Angelina at three tells her Mother she wants to sing on that Simon show. Enters school at four and enrolls in after school program taking music, piano, violin and flute. By five is studying music theory, learning to deconstruct and rearranging songs to her liking, and tells her Mother she wants to sing sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent, but is told she is too young and must be seven. Is speaking three languages and reading the English language. When six she is living in the Middle East, which is where her legend begins. Has been keeping a diary on which she bases her book “Between Two Harts “ published when she is nine telling the story of why she does not ware shoes. She becomes the youngest published author in Norwegian history.
You are embarking on a journey that will continue through your life. This child will change the way you view the world. At this point she is the most incredible human being working to change the world, to a better place.

Very nice reaction! I listened to you, and when you finally arrived at the conclusion that Angelina's talent is a
"GIFT", I was both impressed that you chose the only, yet applicable word "gift"... God never days "OOPS".
She felt right at home, she was realizing what she'd been anticipating since age 3.. her dream had come true.. and she couldn't wait to turn to her left and give the
"👍🏻" .. she was MORE than ready, she was MORE than relaxed, she was doing what she knows she was BORN TO DO... she did not, nor since then, disappoint. A PRODIGY then, now at 17, her musical prowess is at GENIUS blooming... She's free to both create, explore and produce. She sings boldly, confidently, reliant on a voice that responds to her vocal demands every time. Her emotion enables her to sing lyrics, beyond her life experience, paying tribute to her favorite artist, "Lady Day", best known as Billie Holiday.
That's the way she rolls; with the GIFT of lyrics interpretation, a voice that responds to her beckon call, a mind that adds color & nuance on impulse.. she dives in, with total and complete abandon, only enjoyment and passion for her music are the forefront of her flight to delight... We soar with her... glad to be part of heights only she accomplishes. PEACE! 🔥🎤🔥🎵🔥🎧🔥🎼🔥🎹🔥🎙️🎶⭐⭐🌟🌟🌟🔥🔥🔥

For everyone who thinks "why does a 7 year old girl sing a song like that??? "
Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Audions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on UA-cam before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " 💯 *AJ* 💯
BTW, Angelina's mother Sara said in an interview when Angelina was about 11/12 years old, *only Angelina chooses the songs and she only sings them the way she imagines* . 🤗🤗🤗

If there ever was a reason to believe in something greater than us, or in reincarnation, Angelina Jordan is definitely it. She truly has the rare ability to connect with us, from her soul to ours, through her music, so we not only hear her magical voice, but also, feel it too. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on UA-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a UA-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On UA-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music.

Angelina and her closest, decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible. Even when she won NGT, 8 years old, many wanted to sign a contract. Everyone was dismissed! Even Disney. When it comes to the actual training and choice of songs etc., it has always been Angelina who made all the choices and decisions. Parents and others, on the other hand, have asked her to take it a little easier sometimes. Angelina is very special and her own driving force. Ever since she was 3-4 years old! Of course, all relatives and frends, have helped and protected her.

Exactly, she is music. Her next one in that competition was without music and with her competitors breathing down her neck as she sang another Billie Holiday song. She is totally bilingual in Norwegian and English so to add Farsi and Japanese without evidence seems unfair to AJ. Singing a Japanese song does not mean that one speaks Japanese. @@brucebenson5908 Sir, I hear you, here are my thoughts and Knowledge about this.
First, Farsi. When age 6 she met a shoeless girl in the Middle East (they visited her dad and the country her grandma came from).
She talked to a homeless kid of about her age. She has to speak Farsi to accomplish this.
Second, Japanese. Grandma´s husband and the father of Sarah and Michael was a japanese Gentleman. After leaving Iran, they lived for a few years in Japan. I was told, Sarah and Mike Taught the Japanese language to foreigners to earn money. AJ sang at a japanese concert a traditionale tune in Japanese, and the newspapers were enthusiastic about her pronunciation. At age 11 she spoke it a bit haltingly, as seen in this special video. To further her knowledge, Mery and her husband encouraged her to learn theit mother tongues for sure.
Sir, I sincerely hope I could reasure you about Angelina´s abilities concerning languages. I also know for sure from a interview with her BFF that Angelina is a wiz in Mathematics. Her classmate and best friend told that AJ was very good in language and mathematics.
For playing Instruments, on TicToc she plays the guitar and the piano. I am not a fan to say she plays any other instruments, when I never saw her doing it.

As a language learner myself I see the difficulties in really speaking other languages and the evidence for her Farsi and Japanese remains very skimpy. Great 2nd reaction to Angelina, Charlie 🙂 This is promising very well for the future, I have to say. I really commend your dedication and your wish of going chronologically with her. It IS the best way to get to know her for real. The blond lady you asked if was her mother is indeed her mother. Her name is Sara. Sara's brother Michael, is obviously Angelina's uncle (DUH) and he is also her manager. The somewhat older lady you see at the 8:57 mark is Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani. Mery was considered somewhat of a child prodigy herself, in Iran, and she excelled in art and writing. Mery can take most of the credit for who and what Angelina is today. It was she that introduced Angelina to jazz at a very early age, she was constantly playing music in their house. And whenever you see an "amateur" recording of Angelina, you can bet your next salary that it is Mery behind the camera. She has ALWAYS been there for Angelina, and the two have an incredibly strong bond. You have probably heard most of this through the comments already, so I will stop here. But SOME background knowledge is always a good thing to have 🙂
I'm definitely looking very much forward to your next reaction to her. Much love and respect from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

I really enjoy your reactions and this one is no exception. I am also particularly pleased that you are not so jaded as to dismiss a performer/artist as yet another “prodigy “ destined for oblivion. Anyway, I think that your plan of moving forward through AJ’s work chronologically is ideal (especially as it is so voluminously documented) and I am certain that your patience in doing so will be justly rewarded. FYI, there is actually a video of AJ at 6 y.o. singing “I Who Have Nothing “ that is worth your effort to include in your reactions (or on your own). Along the way, don’t miss: “I Put A Spell On You” (9), “Feeling Good” (10), “I’m Still Holding On For You” (10?), “I’d Rather Go Blind” and “Baby We Were Born To Die” (age?, but not to be missed) and so on… No recording will disappoint.

That dark haired guy who is one of the judges has met Michael Jacson's mother Kathrine Jackson and he showed her some of Angelina's performances and she was really impressed. Also Quincy Jones and David Foster (well known top producers) have been really impressed with Angelina's talent already when she was about 8-9 years old. There is a video footage where David Foster seems to be really excited about her and praising her to his friends. Angelina is not herself there at all. The video seems to be like a spy cam but I'm not sure about it.. Angelina performed in a very big Quincy Jones' 85th birthday event in O2 Arena in London and she has also performed in the major charity event in Los Angeles where David Foster was in charge of the music production. In the Norway's Got Talent Angelina already commanded the musicians the play just the way she wanted when she was 7 years old.. When the judges saw that in the rehearsals they were really like WTF????.😀

Yes, Charlie. This was her first big public debut. She has a world-wide following, especially since her AGT Champions (age 13) introduction to North America. Gloomy Sunday went viral at age 7. Bohemian Rhapsody went viral at age 13. If you have not, check it out. Her own arrangement of the Freddie Mercury/Queen song. It still gives me chills and brings me to tears. Grandma Ellen, out. Last year (2022), was a big year for her. This year, 2023, at age 17, is already proving to be a big year. Grandma Ellen, out.

I couldn't agree with you & the judges more - she truly is gifted. I strongly believe that she has been blessed with the GOD given gifts of not a beautiful voice, but also the ability to emote the essence of each song she sings direct to our hearts & souls - allowing us to also deeply FEEL her music as it flows through her. Looking forward to your reactions of her remaining 3 NGT performances (I'm A Fool To Want You, Bang Bang & Summertime) - & then her epic black & white performance of I Put A Spell On You - at age 9. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

Although she is born with it, and gifted, what you will find is that she also works very hard to perfect her artistry, in fact you will see that she completely transformed herself and got command of her voice in the 5 years from 7 to 12, and now it’s off the charts, she doesn’t have to try to make the sounds she wants anymore she is the sounds she wants on command.
You should have watched to the end of the video, they had to tell the crowd it was time to go home, because they wouldn’t move because they were in shock.

Apart from the amazing singing, can you believe her calm poise at such an age in such a situation... hard to believe. And yes "You are music!" was a classic description of Angelina... absolutely spot on. I would say she is not shy - a lot of people say she seems shy but I don't think she... she is very thoughtful in interview - notable for never saying anything necessary or silly.... About shy and self-confidence: Angelina was born in Norway and spent a large part of her upbringing there. Norway belongs to Scandinavia, I am from Sweden which is next to Norway. There is a cultural difference between, for example, the US and us! We don't use a lot of words when we speak, we keep calm and don't wave our arms etc. Visitors from other countries get the impression that we are shy and difficult to connect with. But that's just how it looks!

In all these years I have listened to she thousands of times in hundreds of splendid interpretations and yet every time I see this first performance of hers at the age of 7, it makes me move again, like the first time, with that wonderful concentration of humility, simplicity, candor, sympathy and talent. The backing track issue has never been said by anyone else so maybe it's your headset or some kind of equalizer or something. Try listening again with just the external computer speakers? Or, it could be the particular recording that you're listening to, but if that were the case then we would hear the problematic backing track also but we don't it sounds fine to us.

Glad to see anyone appreciating this much talent. You are right that she is singing in a foreign language but the songs she sang at this age were records of Billie Holiday and Dakota Staten which were in her Grandfathers collection. Later as she got older she started to do her own versions of these songs and by the time she did "I put a spell on you she was writing her own arrangements
Literally hundreds of covers to listen to throughout her teens . Now you may be ready for Amira Willighagen aged nine singing on Holland's got talent . There is a version for English speakers.

Hi, Charlie! Thank you for another heartfelt reaction to Angelina. What impresses me, is that you instinctively understood Angelina had a special talent. I subscribed after your first reaction to her and will remain a subscriber until the end.
I don't know whether you have bookmarked the links to the other performances she did on Norway's Got talent, so I will list them below. However, before I do so, I will give a link to a performance she did prior to her appearance on the talent show,
Angelina attended the Waldorf School, Oslo and was enrolled in the After School Arts Programme (music, sketching and painting, etc.) She sang four songs at the school's Recording Studio, and they were filmed by Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother. For me and many of Angelina's fans, the one listed below is the MST accomplished,
    "I who have nothing" - ua-cam.com/video/RjQZKBpVaes/v-deo.html
And now it's time for the three other performances on NGT.
age 8 - "I'm a fool to want you" (Billie Holiday) - Judges' Cut-Off - ua-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/v-deo.html (No comments by the Judges)
    age 8 - "Bang Bang" (Nancy Sinatra) - Semi Final - ua-cam.com/video/pcBoB49Gxn8/v-deo.html
age 8 - "Summertime: (songwriter George Gershwin. Angelina's performance in the style of Ella Fitzgerald) - Final - ua-cam.com/video/stwF4ti1tbc/v-deo.html
.....and then, although it is not strictly in chronological order, you should consider reacting to what has become the "obligatory" video to watch if you want your mind completely disintegrated.
    age 9 - "I put a spell on you" - ua-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/v-deo.html
    Have fun.🙂
