When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The homeless girl then asked what Angelina dream was. Angelina told her that she wanted to be a singing superstar. The homeless girl said she would pray for her dream to come true. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. How can it be that a young girl does that to me, an old man?! It makes me happy that I live in a time when I can still experience this genius. And it saddens me that I probably won't be able to see her at the height of her creativity again. I have never heard such a singer/performer in my entire life! Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.

Mery is a well regarded painter and poet. The majority of the videos of Angelina’s 6-13 year old performances were produced by Grandma Mery. In Angelina’s recently released cover of Elvis’ song, “Suspicious Minds” grandma Mery is the executive producer. Angelina’s mother, Sarah and her uncle, Michael, (whom is her agent) are also very involved in nurturing Angelina’s love of singing. It’s a family affair and they are very watchful, mindful and protective of Angelina’s path to success. Check out MILLION MILES when she did the concert in July of this year. She did 2 different million miles, but the 2nd one which she slowed down a lot is the performance at the end where she trills her voice almost to a shout - it’s quite amazing. Angelina always have the best band. One of the best reactions to Angelina Jordan that I've ever seen! Great job! The lady in the audience is her dear Grandma, Meri Zamani. Many, many of the videos you will see of Angelina's performances, especially those of her singing at home & school, were filmed by Meri. She is the one who actually helped introduce Angelina to the study of jazz when Angelina was about three! They have a VERY special bond to one another. It's Meri's husband (Angelina's granddad) that her song "Million Miles" was written about.
By the way, the song that started it all was Billie Holliday's "Gloomy Sunday" from the 1930's. Even though she sang the English translation, the song was originally called "The Hungarian Suicide Song", the judges asked her if she knew what the song was about, she said "A gloomy Sunday?". I've only known 4 singers to sing that, Clara Bow, Billie Holliday, Rick Nelson (of all people) and now Angie. What was her parents thinking?

I did not see you react to my favourite performance on that show BANG BANG. Its a hard song to sing and a different genre. It's hard because the variation has to be added by the singer changing the phrasing subtly and colour of the voice to give the emotional impact.

Romeo, the close up of the lady you highlighted is Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani. Grandma, Mery is Angelina’s greatest creative influence. Mery was also an artistic creative child prodigy. Mery is a well regarded painter and poet. The majority of the videos of Angelina’s 6-13 year old performances were produced by Grandma Mery. In Angelina’s recently released cover of Elvis’ song, “Suspicious Minds” grandma Mery is the executive producer.
Angelina’s mother, Sarah and her uncle, Michael, (whom is her agent) are also very involved in nurturing Angelina’s love of singing. It’s a family affair and they are very watchful, mindful and protective of Angelina’s path to success. Angelina’s family has earned the utmost respect and admiration from around the world for how they have raised Angelina and her sister, Juliette.

She started studying & singing Jazz at the age of 1 1/2 yrs & has already signed with Republic Records. Great reaction: yes, she had the version by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong running through her head as she sang... did you notice how at one point she whispered "Don't you say no" under her breath... nearly every reactor misses this but it's notable I think .. it's Louis Armstrong's line from the duet with Ella Fitzgerald... I find the way she sings this, very gently, quite remarkable. Your comment about her "summoning the soul of Louis Armstrong" is very perceptive I think - spot on.

actually angelina is so different in her approach...her mother said she never had a vocal coach because her voice was so unique they didn't want anybody messing with it that angelina studied music theory. angelina said that " when i sing i go to a place THINK about the music and have a good time. said her place is a happy place and endless...

Check out MILLION MILES when she did the concert in July of this year. She did 2 different million miles, but the 2nd one which she slowed down a lot is the performance at the end where she trills her voice almost to a shout - it’s quite amazing. Angelina always have the best band. She chooses them. - In her new Suspicious Minds cover . the piano player is a two time Grammy winner & in her young performances there’s always horns in many of her performances.🌀

One of the best reactions to Angelina Jordan that I've ever seen! Great job! The lady in the audience is her dear Grandma, Meri Zamani. Many, many of the videos you will see of Angelina's performances, especially those of her singing at home & school, were filmed by Meri. She is the one who actually helped introduce Angelina to the study of jazz when Angelina was about three! They have a VERY special bond to one another. It's Meri's husband (Angelina's granddad) that her song "Million Miles" was written about.

By the way, the song that started it all was Billie Holliday's "Gloomy Sunday" from the 1930's. Even though she sang the English translation, the song was originally called "The Hungarian Suicide Song", the judges asked her if she knew what the song was about, she said "A gloomy Sunday?". I've only known 4 singers to sing that, Clara Bow, Billie Holliday, Rick Nelson (of all people) and now Angie. What was her parents thinking?

Highly recommend a couple more of her great performances while still just 8 years old -What A Difference A Day Makes which she performed at an outdoor Norwegian summer music festival - & her US debut on The View singing Fly Me To The Moon. I did not see you react to my favourite performance on that show BANG BANG. Its a hard song to sing and a different genre. It's hard because the variation has to be added by the singer changing the phrasing subtly and colour of the voice to give the emotional impact.
