Mmm not really. There is no butter and only a tiny bit of maple syrup (low sugar) so it’s definitely healthier than cake. If you consider the chocolate chips on top optional, then it’s actually not a bad breakfast (egg, oats, banana, peanut butter- lots of good stuff).

@@Appaddict01 Yeah, people put all KINDS of stuff in their oatmeal. But I've honestly never heard of anyone eating it just plain. In SOME cases, I kinda wonder if they actually think at ALL.
@@juliebaker6969 I think the reason you didn't hear much about eating plain oats is because they aren't a good topic for conversation. People definetly eat those plain (I do sometimes and my dad does it all the time), it's just there's nothing... creative about it. Anyway, oats ARE more healthy than cake because oat (including flour) has a lower glycemic index than white or even whole wheat flour so that keeps blood sugar low and you not feeling hungry for longer!
@@alissamedvedeva5614 I know about wheat and the glycemic index, Since I'm a diabetic that controls my glucose levels with food alone (with some help from vinegar, sweet potato, and cinnamon that is). And before you say it; yeah I know exercise could help, but I'm physically disabled and so exercise is problematic.🤷 But wheat isn't the ONLY thing you can make cake from. Just about ANY grain (like oats), and several OTHER NON-GRAIN flours can ALSO be made into cake. Yeah, not ALL of them have a tender crumb and airy consistency like WHEAT cakes (due to lack of gluten), but you CAN get a lighter airier consistency with tricks like using whipped egg whites to add volume. @Dancing on the moon lmaooo yeah it’s normal here but in my experience that’s never a breakfast that keeps me any kind of full. We will get stuff like that if we are on a road trip or something but I usually have something with eggs, bread, and fruit + coffee. My mom is Brazilian so that probably influences what I think of as a normal breakfast even though I’m (Brazilian) American. But yeah…everything is weird here 😅
Also, I'd like to know how you know what country all the comments are from? Do you go to each of their pages and check? Are you psychic?? or perhaps maybe you are making assumptions so you can write a quirky comment about how hypocritical and outrageous Americans are... and maybe... just maybe some if not most of the comments you read were from literally anywhere in the world... OR that it's possible an American who DOESNT eat muffins for breakfast made an obnoxious comment about the video being desert... theres no telling!! I mean, the possibilities are endless when you don't make assumptions and generalize an entire nation!
@Dancing on the moon I literally saw comments saying Italy and Japan also eat desert foods for breakfast but sure the Americans.

I agree! I made a bread version of this once and used bananas and dates to make it sweet and added some nuts and sunflower seeds instead of choco chips. I was travelling soon and needed to finish of pantry items. It was so delicious!!
Wow, after reading some of the comments, I find it hilarious that a bowl of oatmeal is considered one of the healthiest breakfasts out there. But if you add an egg and a bit of leavening, and it turns it into something reviled as junk food.🤦🏻♀️

Devyani Account As if people don’t put brown sugar in their oatmeal.
@@Appaddict01 Yeah, people put all KINDS of stuff in their oatmeal. But I've honestly never heard of anyone eating it just plain. So why people think it's healthier than virtually the same ingredients baked into a cake is BEYOND me. People apparently just have trouble thinking outside of the box I guess.
And before you say it; yeah I know exercise could help, but I'm physically disabled and so exercise is problematic.🤷
But wheat isn't the ONLY thing you can make cake from. How come people have a stack of pancakes with tons of butter and syrup for breakfast but they're still getting triggered over 1 tablespoon of syrup and peanut butter? -oat flour contains *beta-glucans* which helps lower bad cholesterol. Beta-glucan is an extremely glutinous soluble fiber, so when it travels along your small intestine, it curbs the absorption of bad cholesterol.
