- Always one of the most spectacular venues on the Swiss Hillclimb Championship, Grunigel Bergrennen featured once again a great entrylist, adding to the usual Monsters participating during all year, some truly unique one-offs like the MK Motorsport BMW 3.5 CSL, proper motorbike swapped Protos and even a limited edition McLaren product...Here´s how they ended up placing:

Hard to choose.
Street legal cars gotta be few and far between at events like these.. Kudos to the owner for not making the McLaren a garage queen.
Be nice to see what it’d do on slicks at 10/10ths
In the UK hill climb is a good mixture of road legal and full on race cars.
Needs an exhaust, I thought it was electric

Using a straight-up road car at a hill climb even is ballsy as hell. That’s badass.

Wow, the onboards.. these are some brave souls. Yet another visualisation of how Hillclimb is the purest & rawest form of Motorsports there currently is.

Tracking’s sound like they are powered by bees. 14,000 rpm is crazy even with a motorcycle engine.
That BMW 3.5 CSL is beautiful 😍.
That's the redline in pretty much every 1L sportbike since the mid 2000's. My '06 R1 had the redline at 14,750rpm.
The kind of variety one can only find in HillClimb Racing ;)
The guy with the 765 LT and 3.0 CSL are my personal heroes for very different reasons.
Two extremes finishing with pretty much the same final time. Road-going, ultra modern tech VS Old-School, highly analogue Race car..
Michael Kammermann and his Beemer! What a great car - what an heroic act to replace the Nürburgring Grand Prix course or Spa (where I saw him racing) with all there runout zones against the 5 m wide Gurmigel road! Great footage!

man, that lancer that came in 10 seconds ahead of everyone else is pretty wild to shave that much time off of the 2nd place guy. i could see maybe 1-2 seconds but a whole ten...

Verrückt wie gut die Porsche Cup Autos sind... Und der McLaren sowieso... Zugelassenes Auto kann zeitlich "mithalten"? Da kann das Auto und der Fahrer nur gut sein... Die Opels machen ihr Opel Ding...Die Kitcars waren auch krank mit ihrem Gixxer Motor... 450kg und 200ps...
Die Beiden BMW waren super... Der "e33x war so leise bis auf das plop beim schalten... Und der andere ist einfach nur sexy, oder?
Der Golf und EVO, was will man dazu sagen... Top :D

That S4 twin charging sounds crazy. Charger whine into turbo spool. Would hate to be the mechanic on it though, vac and oil lines everywhere

Its not that complicated...worst is modern engines where turbos are on top of engine that is different nightmare in some ways..

The Germans are incredible with their love of hillclimbs and wildly diverse, beautifully engineered race cars. And there are not many mechanical limitations like other race series. Jawohl!

Gotta have crazy amount of $ to buy a McLaren 765 LT and use it for hillclimb's :)
these tracking cars are pretty cool... 65k ready to race time attack car. steep price but looking into them they seem like a good time saver if you got the money to drop.
I think there is better options for that money.
Cars like Radical cost 35k
Or never race 2009 SR3 cost 54K
Remember that after that 65k initial investment, you pretty much have only to drive it and barely worry about anything else..

I feel like so many people are used to seeing purpose built cars in hillclimb events that they forget how capable some road cars are. On paper, a lot of these cars could have blown the McLaren out of the water. But it posted quite a decent time.

This is the only event where I get disappointed when I see an actual race car or higher end car instead of a 500+hp MK1 golf, cause it’s hilarious to see and it ends up being an unbelievable racing machine. Then a Porsche gt3 cup car (a car I actually really love) shows up and I want the hayabusa v8 abarth

I liked the CSL, the both kadett c coupe and the Escort where also terrible, the kidd cars where nice, the Japanese where a incredable time, the x1/9 with opel 16 v... Multicool

@@Grimm-Gaming well to be fair, it was rapid, 1litre 4cylinder motor bike engine, that thing is lethal, i have not seen a car that stands out to me for a while but this, id watch on repeat lol
