NA Builds are Art. You can't just shove more air in courtesy of a power adder. Theres real science behind port architecture, valvetrain stability, cam characteristics, and many other variables that work together to help increaese flow and scavenging. Love the old saying "Boost is for poorly designed engines, Natural Aspiration is Art & Engineering at its finest."
@@joe125ful No doubt...but gaining every additional horsepower out of an NA Build is much more difficult, and becomes exponentially more difficult as power rises.
@@ryanbrown918 Yep this is why turbo cars produce always more power and are more reliable. For example in Japan engine you can slap new twin turbo, new cooling, intercooler and some minor parts and get 100-150Hp+ and your engine still be very reliable. But doing same in N/A engine takes much more work, lose more engine reliability needs more testing etc. But i like both engine type.

Holy crap I love this group! Some of the craziest coolest comments to this particular video, what's up?! Life's a bit rough lately so a good laugh is really good medicine, much better than anything in a pill. If you're stuck in the pits, you're not in the race you're at the race. Now it's time for me to watch the turbo cars....oh I almost forgot to mention I'm still kinda loyal to VW so the mk1 sciroccos that fell off the edge of the page are missed in this video. BUT! I happen to dig 360 Modena Ferrari's. They must suck in some way because I literally never see anything good bad or indifferent regarding the 360. Weren't they priced at $130k when sold new? Yeah I know, "if you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it" and I would add "so don't bother, but feel free to look at it while you can." Cheers
Long may petrol be available after I’ve gone. Hopefully I’ll be watching from above. Can’t beat those V engines. Thank you, man, machine, on a track without run offs, fantastic.
I saw a Ruffian car video the other day and this guy had Webbers on the 64' Mustang "FIA" V-8. It just snapped off the revs. He designed it to mimic the AC Cobra in spirit. It also sounds like a contemptuous monster.
What I love about NA engines is they mainly focus on the engine itself without relying on a turbo, supercharger or procharger setups. You can still make insane of horsepower without using aftermarket turbo kits or supercharger kits.
0:16 Aha that Ferrari 360 N-GT. Soo raw sound! 3:01 Love that rumbling on start,Wroom,Wroom!!:) Angry. Too bad that BMW M1 is soo rare i want sharp street version! 9:21 Yes my favorite cat!!! Always looks and sounds awesome.
I don't even like them style wise but that 4c is a wicked nasty sounding monster. All race cars should aspire to sound exactly like that when they grow up.
That Starlet no longer having the 11k rpm 4age breaks my heart. I’m sure the Hayabusa based v8 is much easier for him to keep running all season though
There's quite a few phenomenal NA cars here, but if I can only take one to keep for myself, you know it's gotta be that absolutely _glorious_ BMW M1... I'd blasphemously take that M1 Pro Car, remove the livery, completely spray it in either Polaris Silver to stay true to the M1, or respray in Dravit Grey, both or either I should say of which, would get the full, super rare brown leather fitted around what's necessary.... make sure I've got some spindle mounted BBS E50 centerlocks in gold....yup, with a G-Force or Quaife 6spd dogbox H-pattern trans 👌😅
Everyone commending the N/A cars--which is well deserved--I commend the drivers who are actually shifting gears! Sequential/paddles are *easy*, stick shift takes skill..
This is a compilation, not a display of a single Race. It´s easy to tell that each run is from different Hillclimbs, different countries, different events.

@@slavplaysgames I like both engine type N/A and Turbo.
N/A is like pulling an all-nighter without coffee compared to turbo engines. It is more satisfying to accomplish, with only what you got without assistance.
Yeah ,nothing compares to the throttle response.
Just light weight car with good response. Nothing more needed.
Then there is a delta s4 with supercharger and turbocharger 😂
Yes because engine is much more responsive and reving much faster and not turbo lag.
Often you see turbo cars with 50% more power be much slower around the track, even with roughly the same weight.

That 360 is the best sounding 360 I've ever heard ever... wow, I didn't know they could go that high pitched.
BMW Inline 6 engine is the best sound in motorsport. Harmonic but baleful. It sings it's pain.
Just awesome.

That Judd V8 is a symphony of power.
10:21 interesting cabin cooling solution =)
Reto's SLK has always been one of my favorites because of the engine used and how light they've managed to make the car
That X1/9 at the end sounded Bellissimo
Well it have Ferrari part:)
And it is just a 4cyl

Half expected Julie Andrews to pipe up at some time. The hills are indeed alive to the sound of music.
M1 Procar ftw
That Starlet is ridiculous 🤯
Italians...only they are crazy enough to build X1s with Alfa power, Alfa with Judd V8s...bellissima

That Ferrari 360 sounds amazing
Fiat X1/9 Ferrari is an insane Car. Wow.
Thanks for posting and sharing. Great video, really nice videography displaying remarkable driving in spectacular machines.
My top 3 in no particular order :
F360 NGT
M1 Procar
SLK340
After reading the title, I thought the clear winner would be something with a Judd V8.
I was very wrong...
And the winner was??...
Ferrari v8.
I like the V8 burble but the Alfa 4 pots and the M1 sound amazing!
