And remember, you DON'T HAVE TO watch this video unless you want to. Thanks for your support, cheers!
Hi Cory, I wouldn't be surprised if the troll is a fervent anti Communist Viet Kieu who still lives in the past, not unlike some of those sad pathetic Cuban Americans who are still protesting Fidel Castro and any interaction with Cuba, even if those interactions are solely based on family reunion and humanitarian purposes. These people are going to die a slow miserable death on foreign soil. They don't even realize their votes are outweighed by the Corporate America's business interest that always result in more and more business and interaction between the US and Vietnam/Cuba. Bottom line, keep on doing what you enjoy doing, be it in Vietnam, Korea or any where else.
I am not sure, it could be, but then it might not be. But I've been making UA-cam videos since late 2012, and I'm used to immediate dislikes literally the second my video gets uploaded. It just gets annoying after a while. Either way, any interaction on my video gets picked up by algorithms showing there's activity, which is in the end a good thing. lol

Yah I think Da nang and Ho Chi Minh city are better than Hanoi. Vietnam is much more developed than Cambodia so actually you can enjoy convenience here. If you have ever been to Thailand, I would say life in city in Vietnam is pretty similar to Bangkok, Thailand. So if you consider moving to Asia, Vietnam and Thailand are 2 good choices, almost best choices, honestly, life is easy in these 2 countries, modern and nice! Welcome!

I really appreciate these walk around. I miss Vietnam and my family in Nha Trang, Saigon and Hue. When this Covid-19 is done killing us I'll be back, maybe for good.
hehehe It wasn't pouring heavy rain until near the end of the video, which is why I stopped filming. But I'm glad to share Hanoi looks like when it's raining here.
Absolutely Love this, brings back memories of our walk around such a brilliant city. It makes a nice change to be able to sit back and watch something without someone rabbiting on. We cannot wait to be back there. Thank you Cory.
Oh boy, you have to be careful when want to cross the street lol! This is my first impression watching the video. The second impression is how much Toyotas and other Japanese care are in the city.
Yeah, there are many traffic fatalities in Vietnam, every hour, every day. So it is very important to be cautious and know how the flow of things work. Once you get the hang of how to walk around, or even drive around, it's really easy. There are a lot of Japanese and Korean cars here, for sure. Thanks for watching!
I always enjoy your walking videos......need more of them. I'm one who likes it when you do voice overs explaining things as you walk, but I enjoy either way.
Thanks David. ^^ Yeah, I was experimenting with not talking while walking to give viewers a chance to listen to the real sounds of the streets. But I feel that many people enjoyed my walking videos when I gave some narration as to what was what, so I think I'll go back to my original style of walk & talk videos. ^^
It's really awesome to see you back man. The videos and photos recently have been awesome. I never thought I'd see a place in Hanoi that was a bit quiet, that pho video made me go gets some like that day lol
Thanks man! I'm slowly doing what I can, mental health permitting. lol You should explore some random alleys in random areas of Hanoi, there are so many really quiet places, it's almost shocking. hehe
I too prefer when you are talking as you add a soothing and informative voice to your wonderful videos . Still I enjoyed this one very much. Thank you for sharing ;-)
Thanks for the feedback Dom, don't worry, my next walking video will have me talking during the walk. I enjoy it too, I was just experimenting by not talking and seeing how all of you viewers react to that. Stay tuned for new videos soon! Cheers!
Inoticed that just like any busy city people do not great strangers too much or at all. No random waves or hellos. Also the wires!!! Do you ever hear music in the streets?
Yeah, people don't greet strangers here unless they're trying to sell something, especially to foreigners. Every day when I walk around, someone is trying to sell me something as I walk by. There's not really any people just waving and saying hi, just to say hi. I hear music all the time. Vietnamese love karaoke, so people will do karaoke very loud even at 7am and the whole neighborhood can hear it. And many cellphone and clothing shops put speakers outside their store and pump music SO LOUD, it's literally deafening. They think it's a good way to attract customers, but it's just a nuisance. There's a law against that stuff being over a certain decibel level, but no one is regulating it so the stores get away with it every day.
Aw Cory don't even pay attention to the Thumbs down ..you will always have ignorant jealous people watching. This video was fun to watch very enjoyable ..keep the good work. To me there is more garbage on the side of the street than Saigon ..we are maybe going to Hanoi at the end of Dec ..not sure yet ..
I don't even think the thumbs down were actual people, maybe just bots? lol I had a thumbs down on my Pho video when it was up for the premiere feature. It literally hadn't even been aired yet and someone disliked it. It was funny to me, which only makes me think it was a troll who has no life, or it was a bot. I can't speak about trash in Hanoi vs Saigon, as I've never been to Saigon yet. If you haven't been to Hanoi, definitely check it out! Though in December, it will be chilly so you'll need long pants and sweatshirts and stuff. ^^ Thanks for commenting and supporting what I do! Cheers!
I came to Hai Phong with a new GoPro7 Black hoping to do some video work using Adobe Premiere Rush given it's included in my LR/PS yearly subscription. Think I'll go sit outside at a coffee cafe and shot a hyper-lapse and take images with my Mamiya M645 film camera. Thanks for the inspiration. Question: Do you know if Hai Phong also has a "Train Street"?
Sounds like it will be cool, I really want to get the Hero 7 Black as well. So many awesome features and the video specs are just amazing. Hai Phong does have a kind of train street running through the whole city. All you have to do is follow the tracks and you'll see many places where you can walk along and see people living along the rails, just like Hanoi. But you probably won't find it gentrified the way it is in Hanoi, with cafes and boutique shops and stuff along the way. You'll most likely just find small businesses like hair salons and small mom & pop shops. Good luck!
hi cory i recognise some of these streets i like these sort of vids theres a guy in hongkong thats been doing these type of vids for years (hongkongmaps)
Yeah, I've seen some of his videos. There's a good channel in Japan called Rambalac, and another one in Italy called ProWalks. I'm so glad other people are sharing what the streets of other countries look like.
This was absolutely fascinating to watch. It's so much different from what I'm used too. I live in the States where things seem to be more organized, but whatever is going on there, it works. It's like organized chaos. Haha. The food at 21 where the ladies are preparing the meals looks delicious. I love Vietnamese food. The sauces and spices are so good. I've never seen so many bikes, and so much constant moving traffic. Where are the filling stations for gas? I'd really like to see what a filling station looks like, and how it operates. I hope you do more videos like this. I wasn't bored for one second, I found the experience entertaining and educational. I'd love to experience this, but not sure how safe and welcome I'd feel. Thanks so much for a great video, and well done too.
Organized chaos is a great way to describe it. hehehe There are gas stations around, and they look just like gas stations anywhere else in the world. But they all have attendants who will pump the gas for you. The crazy thing is that there are lots of people don't know how to wait in line at pumps, so on busy days, it's just a swarm of motorcycles all trying to get to the front to fill up on gas. Gas is cheap, you can fill your tank for $2 or $3 and be set for an entire week of driving. If you ever came out to Vietnam, I'm sure you'd be safe and have a good time. You should really look into it! It's a wonderful country. ^^ Thank you for watching and commenting!
I was waiting to see who would comment about the umbrella. hehehe I like it too, it's colorful and has nice flower patterns on it. Thanks for commenting, Celestine!
Awesome looking area. Love the old buildings hugging the train track. The driving looks scary tho. Not sure these people should b operating motor vehicles. Its pretty much a free for all on thr roads. Otherwise this is a really cool looking city

Cory you are AMAZING with your walking videos. I like it when you leave a busy traffic-filled street and walk into one of those back alleys, the way it suddenly becomes sooooo quiet! Funnily enough I got the notification for this whilst watching the London Symphony Orchestra give a concert at the Ly Thai To statue and gardens, Hoan Kiem District. I knew they were doing an Asian tour, playing in Japan and Korea, but didn't realise they were also playing in Hanoi. That was on 5th October. Were you anywhere near, Cory? I know a lot of those guys from my music career as a professional violist playing as an extra in three of the London bands including the LSO. back in the 80's Anyway sorry to digress, keep the videos coming man we thoroughly appreciate them!! Take good care.
Thank you very much Ian! Yeah, the sudden change in decibel level is really crazy. I like it too. Oh wow, I didn't know the LSO was in town! I'm sure they had an event at the Hanoi Opera House too. Hoan Kiem lake is actually just a short 10 to 15 minute walk away from my house, but too far to hear any music. And that is just AMAZING that you were a professional violinist and have played with the LSO! Wow! Thank you for your support, always. Cheers!
Cory, how do you hold your camera? your videos are the best I have seen, I love Hanoi and Saigon- also what kind of Video Camera do you use? Enjoy your eye view of Beautiful Hanoi , Thank You
Thank you! I film my walking first-person POV videos with a GoPro. It's the older Hero 4 Black model, which is very out-dated, but at least it has 4K ability, which is what I use. I also use a Zhiyun stabilizer for the GoPro, which is what helps keep the video from being so shakey. I'd like to upgrade to the GoPro Hero 7 Black, which has much better video features for 4K filming, plus it has built-in stabilization so there's no need for a stabilizer. One thing I like about my stabilizer is that I can plug my GoPro to the power source, so my GoPro can film for many hours without running out of juice. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hallo Cory, why VOV International, appearence in here ??? So I usually listen VIV radio in my Country Indonesia, I like this VIV .... in Ba treu street. Greeting from me .
Hey Cory - another awesome video, is like I'm walking thru those areas. Although I can't walk that fast lol. Got a little claustrophobic in the narrow ally shots, too close for this country girl. Remarmkable they build so close together and yet those areas are so peaceful! Thank you for sharing your incredible videos! I miss your voice because I find you speak in a calm manner. But any video you do interesting, entertaining and educational! Who ever gave you the thumbs down had to be from America, there is a bad case of "assholeism" going around the country right now 😞, it's so embarrassing. Ignore the negative trolls - you have incredible talent and bring a lot more to the table than they can!!
hehehe Yeah, the narrow alleys can feel a bit claustrophobic at times. I've been getting some feedback about the last few walking videos where I didn't talk. It was just an experiment to see viewer reactions and it seems the consensus is that me talking is much better. hehe I'm glad you could still experience Vietnam through my videos, even without my adding my narration on top of the walk. Hope all is well! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yeah. That's what I was experimenting with in this walking video. It's tough to not say anything, though, because I want to explain things as I walk by them, which is why I used some subtitles for info. For years I always talked during my walking videos, so while I love immersion videos with no narration, I think I'll stick to talking as the majority of my viewers seem to prefer that. Thanks for watching, Roy!
maybe after next 5 years traffic will be better there is metro and subway being finished and public transport will be improved maybe you'll be less terrified:)
I think anywhere in the world, you're going to have to deal with traffic. But I know what you're trying to say. ^^ I don't mind the traffic here, it's the noise pollution that's getting to me. Lots of honking all day long, and the constant hum of motorbike engine noise... it can be very draining on your mental health to hear those noises every day. Hanoi is a very "loud" city with the traffic noise and construction sounds everywhere.
@@CoryMay81 true HN is very noisy, if you don't grow up here wth it it might be overwhelming to you. But lots of Hanoians love the loudness bc it feels lively to them. If thru time that affects you you can consider moving to central part of VN much less hectic:)
I film my walking videos with an old GoPro Hero 4 Black, and use a handheld stabilizer for smooth footage. I really want to get the new Hero 7 Black. My GoPro is so old and out-dated! At least it still films in 4K, but only at 30fps, and the bitrate is terrible. T_T
LOL. I think doing and watching youtube is one of the fastest ways to see mean and weird people!!! Why are some people are just so mean with their dislikes and bad comments right? lol. Cory, fighting!
No idea, but everyone knows there are trolls all over UA-cam. It's just the way it is. hehehe But I'm glad for viewers like you and everyone who supports me and leaves comments and asks questions and stuff. Thank you!
It's November 2nd here, and though the weather is nice and sunny, there's a really nice cool autumn breeze these days. Like DrkShd said, it's about 25°C in the day time. It'll drop below 20° in the next few weeks, and soon everyone will be wearing jackets and long pants in preparation for the cold winter weather. Right now, you can still get away with tshirt and shorts if you're coming from a colder climate, but having a pair of jeans and maybe a windbreaker or longsleeve shirt will also help if the evenings are too chilly for you.
Welcome to Vietnam! There are many crosswalks without a traffic light to stop the cars and motorbikes. This is very normal in Vietnam to cross the street like this. Everybody does it this way.
11:30 I must be missing something... Doesn't Vietnamese traffic code have a rule about stopping if there's a pedestrian on the crosswalk? Like why TF are cars just trying to go around you in the same direction you're moving?! Don't get me wrong, I'm from a 3rd world country myself and we have our share of morons on the road, but this level of neglect for rules is just mindblowing. Not a single one even slowed down!
Yeah, after hearing lots of feedback from viewers, it seems many prefer my narration while walking. So the next walking video I do will include me talking again. ^^
You are the only youtuber I know who read all comments🙈 .. and your videos became a part of my life since you were in Seoul . Really very long time .. ☺☺
I feel like viewers and subscribers who spend time out of their day to watch my content deserve a reply back, it's the least I can do to say thanks. ^^ Thank you for the long time support!!!
Thanks for the feedback! The last 2 walking videos (including this one) I didn't talk because I wanted to see what it was like and to gauge audience reaction to that. I kind of like talking too, so I'm sure the next walking video I film, I'll go back to my original way. ^^ Thanks for watching!

@@CoryMay81 Thank you.
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome! ^^ Thanks for enjoying it!
It was just an experiment to see viewer reactions and it seems the consensus is that me talking is much better. hehe
I'm glad you could still experience Vietnam through my videos, even without my adding my narration on top of the walk. Hope all is well! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Cory May noooOoOoooooooO! the natural sounds of the city are so peaceful & awesome
Sometimes the no talking ones are just as good because you get to experience the street ambiance
Keep it simple,nice video
Thanks!
If we can Skip having to live with Traffic, i would consider living here!
But,you have to deal with it my man..
maybe after next 5 years traffic will be better there is metro and subway being finished and public transport will be improved maybe you'll be less terrified:)
Actually it might look bad in the video but once you get familiar with it, it is fine. Because there are rules and ways people do follow
I think anywhere in the world, you're going to have to deal with traffic. But I know what you're trying to say. ^^
I don't mind the traffic here, it's the noise pollution that's getting to me.
What kind of camera do you use Cory? Thanks :)
Thanks Cory :)
Sweet. Thanks
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the walking tour! ^^
LOL. I think doing and watching youtube is one of the fastest ways to see mean and weird people!!! Why are some people are just so mean with their dislikes and bad comments right? lol. Cory, fighting!
No idea, but everyone knows there are trolls all over UA-cam. It's just the way it is. hehehe
But I'm glad for viewers like you and everyone who supports me and leaves comments and asks questions and stuff.
Thank you!
What sort of temperatures do you get in November.... I'll be there next week
it's autumne, the best season in VN, temp about 25 celsius, there is rarely rain in this season, normal cool at the morning and sunny at noon
@@DrkShd cheers sounds perfect
It a bit cool breeze for night,a bit warm for day light and windy in afternoon.. beside get yourself a local guide for a better trip
@@thanhnguyenduc2867 thank you
It's November 2nd here, and though the weather is nice and sunny, there's a really nice cool autumn breeze these days.
😍I miss Hanoi
Veintnam is just same as india🇮🇳...visit india as well
You look gorgeous bro 10:48
lol Thanks
11:29 wtf????
It have a line for people can walk in but in this section they have no sign to make people stop/slow down for walker..
Not a single one even slowed down!
please, If you can talk and explain, it would be amazing
Yeah, after hearing lots of feedback from viewers, it seems many prefer my narration while walking. So the next walking video I do will include me talking again. ^^
You are the only youtuber I know who read all comments🙈 .. and your videos became a part of my life since you were in Seoul . Really very long time .. ☺☺
I feel like viewers and subscribers who spend time out of their day to watch my content deserve a reply back, it's the least I can do to say thanks. ^^ Thank you for the long time support!!!
In my opinion, the traffic is so danger
Johnny Walker now change to Cory Walker ☺️☺️☺️
I could go for a glass of Blue Label right now. hehehe
I like the videos better when you walk n talk and explain things.
Just my personal opinion.
Thanks for the feedback! The last 2 walking videos (including this one) I didn't talk because I wanted to see what it was like and to gauge audience reaction to that. I kind of like talking too, so I'm sure the next walking video I film, I'll go back to my original way. ^^ Thanks for watching!
@@CoryMay81 cool man, stay awesome.
I agree...I miss the explainations and comments!. 😊😊😊
Ok go to your corner lol. If he doesnt explain than its pointless
gerco verhoeven - For me I actually like this because i want to listen to the natural sounds of the surroundings. Not that I don’t like Cory talking, but I do appreciate this as well.
😍🇻🇳🙏
