Happy Paw Pawing!
Susquehanna paw paw's are my fav. They have a great flavor profile, very mango/banana.
Good to see that IXL is tasty since I grafted one. It's growing well now
Surprisingly good! Congrats
What I would like to see is a detailed analysis of flavor & aromas of each cultivar at different stages of ripeness.
most aren't good at all and bit hazardous to eat before fully ripe; they have chemicals that make your lips react when green
@@geomundi8333 I said stages of ripeness! Not reducing percentages of unripeness. I'm talking about from fully tree ripened to rotten. What gets created & destroyed by (PolyPhenol Oxidase, Ethylene, etc) a complete chart in parts per billion of all terpenoids & aromatic phenols, would be nice. Example: Ethylene stimulates absorption of CO2 as it creates sugar & other chemicals from starch & acids. PolyPhenol Oxidase Enzyme produces carmelization.
XL1 sounds like a winner!🥇🥇
it's IXL. ;)
Did you take a bite out of the first fruit with the skin on!? Isn’t that a big no no?
I have seven trees growing now
It will be a few years for my first fruit. Till then I have to find them in the woods.
Where could one get these pawpaws?
not clearing your pallet? only 1 fruit per cultivar?
I feel like theres such a variety of flavor profiles per fruit in just a single pawpaw patch that this experiment could be greatly improved by some water or something to eat in between, and maybe 3-4 fruits per type.
Yeah, go for it
Doggo wants a pawpaw!
Can I grow this in Cali?
Where can these be bought (preferably a good one without the funk)? I would like to try them, but I’ve never seen them anywhere.
I believe it"s iXL, not 1XL nor XL1, an (Overleese x Davis) & NC-1 is (Davis x Overleese)
I wonder if anyone makes a natural flavoring from these? I've been considering making a beverage that is flavored with paw paw but have never found a flavoring.
I do know it makes a great mead, kombucha, and piña colada!
@@permacultureninja seems like it would. I'm thinking of creating a pawpaw flavored energy drink, I just have no clue where to get the pawpaw flavor.
Bro, where can I get me some pawpaw seeds?
They are very hard to propagate and need to be frost hardened and in a deep (greater then 16”) deep pot for their strong tap root. Even at that, they have low germination rates so just buy a young paw paw tree from a renowned grower like Stark Bro’s or other tree raising companies. Older mature trees don’t typically survive transplanting so that’s why I recommended buying a young start.
Check with England’s Orchard
A "professional" would rinse his or her mouth in between. I'm guessing if you were a firefighter, you would be a "volunteer" and not a professional? Re-do it. The right way.
Ha. How about you send me some of your clips..
@@permacultureninja sensitive. Watch some wine tasting and similar beverage/food tasting. You want to add to your credentials or just make clips for amusement?
@@davidbenner2289 It's a fruit tasting video that gives you a basic overview of the flavor of the various pawpaws. When people taste wine, they want to detect all the nuances in the wine. No need to be an asshole about this, there is no right way.
@@beacon6424 no. There is one way. For it to be the right way.
@@davidbenner2289 As i said, it is a video meant to give you a basic overview of the flavor of the various pawpaws. It is not meant to describe the flavor of each variety in detail, only to give you an idea of the flavor. In the beginning of the video, it was *clearly* specified that it is a quick taste test, which further testifies that it is meant to give you a basic overview of the various pawpaws' flavors. When tasting wine, it is important to detect all the nuances of wine, in this case, a pallate cleanser would be suitable, but not necessary. You can not force content creators to do something the "right" way according to yourself, they are creating content for you, for free. If you don't like it, watch something else.
more of tasting videos please.
