It truly has added confidence and motivation for the viewer to make one tailored to their needs. Thank you for putting this video out there, Been trying to build power hammer for many years, sourcing parts and pieces, but hadn't seen the proper build of this type until now, of course ours will be majorly over sized, using a 3 inch (76.2mm) hammer shaft with a 5 inch (127mm) anvil shaft, again thanks for the inspiration and information!!!
I love that at the end of the video you can see he's been wearing croc's during this entire build. I'd love to know how many time he's burned his feet while welding.
Im puzzled as to why you would set it so low to the ground? Nice concept, seems to work well if your going to squat the whole time your using it. I would have also opted for a larger hammer that motor looked like it could handle 30 or 40 pounds of rotation force.
@@clubsoda85cook55 he builds what he saw feet of serving the scale of projects he usually works on . He can put it on top of a table if he wants to. You are looking for the problems, not the main idea of it. If you build one, no1 is stopping you from making it 10 times bigger .

Only if you are only doing very small items. Sure, it will smash the crap out of your finger, but not very good for forging heavy metal. But as someone else mentioned, nothing stopping people from making it bigger.

No those were designed for rotation of a shaft, not linear sliding of a shaft in and out. A simple stationary pipe guide would have worked just as well likely

Did you also notice the shoes he’s wearing. If he drops a decent piece of metal he loses a toe. I’m surprised he hasn’t found welding spatter in one of his toes

One suggestion is use linear bearings not pillow blocks does the job all the same but linear bearing will last much much longer

Именно голыми руками и надо, нам еще в школе запрещали в перчатках сверлить - если зазеваешься, то перчатку с рукой наматывает на сверло только так...

With no other changes aside, moving the offset on the drive wheel, in or out from the motor shaft will affect both speed and shift lift distance

The last two bearings have been used exactly for what they were designed
