  • It’s been a loooooong time since I’ve tried a new mouthpiece (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?!), but I love my Denis Wick Heritage cornet mouthpiece so much that when they said they were gonna make a Heritage trumpet mouthpiece, I HAD to give it a go. This is straight out the box this morning-comparison videos to my usual equipment to follow!
Please enjoy some improvisation on Ray Noble’s “Cherokee”

It’s good. I will say that my main mouthpiece is a Denis Wick Heavytop, and after trying out the Heritage in different situations, I like the feel and response of my Heavytop more on trumpet, so that’s my main trumpet piece. I still swear by my Heritage mouthpiece for cornet (and you can see I use it in all my cornet vids). As far a what size you might need, that depends on your lips and what size rim you play on now. The best thing to do is to try it out yourself. Hope that helps

Nah, this is a prototype horn made by a company that used to sponsor me named Sonaré (they are now defunct)

How does it compare to other horns you’ve played? What’s special about it?

@@Soap_MC it reminds of the tone I would get from a Bach, but it takes less energy and effort to play. I have no idea about the specs of this particular horn (it’s sort of a Franken-horn), but I know it has a Blackburn leadpipe. Outside of that, it just works great for the situations where I need it. My main axe is an Eclipse cornet, though.

@@VictorHaskins Gotcha. I had a Cannonball with matte black nickel plate that looks similar to your Eclipse. It's a super cool finish!

@@Soap_MC I am familiar with that finish Cannonball does-right on!
