James is an example for us, the western practitioners of the Buddha's teachings who aspire to real understanding and lived experience. These are not translated teachings, they flow right from the source. It's a very encouraging thing to see a man like this, a beacon of wisdom in the seeming gloom of the world filled with wannabe gurus, self proclaimed experts and those who simply parrot the words heard from others.
Wow! I second all the appreciations expressed below. I studied Tibetan Buddhism at Naropa 1980 - 83. His expression has the effect of distilling and illuminating this wisdom tradition like nothing I've met.
I've listened to this for the third time and I'm still captivated by the meanings and the lucidity through which James is uniquely capable of delivering. Thank you James !
I look for more teachings from James Low. I can sense the deep roots of Dzogchen begun in Loving Kashmir while it has the clarity of Buddhism. Low is a very good teacher in this way. Thanks.
James low has such a mastery of language Then the stand up comedian that is the conceptualising process, decides that this wisdom is now my wisdom and can be passed on as my understanding. As he points out the ego cannot enter the gate and nor is it damned to hell.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I ask of those who heard this years ago and were inspired by the presentation if the learning went beyond being uplifted and/or comforted by the ideas and into the embodied experience, where one feels the insight so thoroughly that there is no sense of having to keep reminding oneself with quotes and such. Has the old identity fallen away? TY.

Hello to Uranus
Thank you UA-cam algorithms for bringing me here.
This is incredibly lucid.
I find myself back here. He sounds like Hedderman.
Algorithms indeed. Algorithms that are helping to build neurotechnologies that will allow everyone to easily access emptiness in the near future.
What a liberating pleasure it is to listen to James and also absorb those graceful hand movements ... thank you :-)

Remember CR Lama when he gave empowerments in Manchester around 2000 & 1 (JH organised) and chatted with him a awhile afterwards.
Great talk, thank you so much! May you quickly realize your Buddha nature :)
Very artfully, and eloquently said. Still, it is much simpler than this.
How so? tell me.

You could watch this on mute and get the point

It's a bit like Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal teaching Dzogchen.
