    Hey man, some quick tips from an ex-college/futures player. Key words for you are INTENSITY and LOOSEN UP that arm.
    I’ve trained everywhere, at top academies to world renown coaches, around the world. At this level, the most important thing to do is to improve your intensity. You see these fancy academies do all these fancy patterns, foot work drills, mental conditioning, physical therapy, training equipment on court, etc. I can tell you with 100% certainty that that’s not what got roger/Rafa to where they are. The difference between these top players is intensity. The “fancy cones” that they use during drill is to increase intensity, that’s it. Go hard until you throw up on the court.
    When I trained with the Spaniards, one of whom trained with Nadal and was the top NCAA player, all we did was simple drop feeds as he yelled “harder, more spin, more hand,” until I threw up. And then he made me jog 3 miles up a hill. That’s how it works. Simple as that. When I trained at JTCC, we had them fancy cones out. But the only purpose they served was to keep us focused. We were given 3 balls. We were to hit the cones 5 times before we could rest. We also had to run to get the balls in between rallies.
    Enjoy brother. Don’t worry so much about technique or doing fancy drills. Go and grind crosscourt, hit with more and more spin/pace as you get more tired. That’s it. This chapter doesn’t last forever. Best of luck.

      Im no pro but i could tell his form was abit stiff. That would prevent generating more power and spin.

      Yeah Bruh , I agree als all the dancing in between is gonna take so much out of you after 3 hours or so of heavy hitting . The guy at the other end doesn’t need to do it he’s conserving energy . Nice player though good luck to you

    Man oh man, I am in love with your mechanics. The spin and drive you generate on the forehand is beautiful. I love how you keep your shoulders square on the backhand side and the leg drive you put into your kinetic chain is masterful. I am 25 and I am teaching teens during the summer (hopefully with COVID I can again this summer because I think I have more fun than them LOL). They all try to emulate the Rafa's, RF, and Novak. I see so much of Novak's backhand in yours and that is a good thing because he has incredible mechanics on that side.
    But what I really like about you is, your honesty. Being real with yourself in your other videos about how you admit to your level dipping when you weren't playing. That is honesty and being real with yourself in front of a camera. That is not easy for a man to admit to themselves and then on top you admit it on camera. The commitment and drive you put in looks to be paying off my friend. You have a fan in me! All the best and stay healthy.

    Do you still talk to Simon? Where do you think your level is compared to when you were training with him. Love your backhand, keep up the good work and glad to see you are enjoying tennis again. After I played college tennis I did take a couple years break. I play 4.5 doubles three times a week now (hooked again) as it is socially fun and good exercise. All the best and stay safe as I know college life is hard to keep social distancing. Be interested in how your college handles classes and sports in the new covid life.

    Great video! You have a nice wide stance and balance always! Any tips on how I can improve mine? Any progression tips or exercises I can practice to get into the habit of it? I noticed when I’m striking the ball, my feet are usually too close together and I don’t feel balanced.
    Cheers mate!

    • @thetennisdream812
      @thetennisdream812  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you man! I would say try and consciously think about widening your stance whilst playing. Also, medicine ball training really helps! Grab a medicine ball and shadow a few forehands and backhands and focus on setting your feet with an open stance. It will feel weird at first but you’ll grow accustomed to it
