I moved from Chicago to Ireland 7 years ago and I hated to leave my bed behind, which was a gorgeous huge, heavy mahogany with a very high, thick mattress that I had to climb into! I agree with you completely that there is something so special and cozy about having to climb up into bed. Sleeping seems like an event. Thank you for the tour of this lovely house!
My beds a high up! I know what you mean it’s a bounce up yo get in. Once big dog got older we brought dog bed up alongside our bed n added a Mr Fluffy! Now dog is happy.
A few of my other UA-camrs mentioned comments from viewers who discovered they were ***no longer subscribed*** to the channel. I checked here and, sure enough, instead of "Subscribed" appearing, it said "Subscribe", which meant that, somehow, I was no longer subscribed to "Nicholas Fairford". I subscribed and turned on notifications again. Everyone needs to check this for the channels they were subscribed to.
This Video Channel should be REQUIRED Viewing for Chicago Schoolkids and Los Angel's Barrios & Ghettos so they, the Schoolkids, can see they've been ROBBED OF WHAT THE ELITE ENJOY, and their FUTURE given away for GRANTS to 3rd Worlds, that are scammed for Hamas UNDERGROUND Bases and 3rd World Tyrants. This is NOT a strange life bit BASIC LIVING for those who STUDY WORLD HISTORY and KNOW the VALUE OF A DOLLAR. Most Americans don't know value of their dollar and are scammed with PLASTICS in clothing, shoes, and food. Anyone can get to this level of living...except they've been cheated of knowing value of their hour of work.
I love how they pulled the red from the beautiful wallpaper to use as the color for the bathtub. Details matter and that is what I love about your channel and lifestyle.
I imagine that the proprietors must screen the clients who are invited to stay at their property. They need to be a proven respectful , classy , sophisticated person. You are certainly all of those, Nicolas. Thank you very much for giving us a tour of the property . . . very well done.
Question. I would like to hear about your experiences while going to school. I am a retired teacher in Texas, and am always interested in people’s schooling….favorite subject, favorite teacher and memorable events.
Thank you Nicolas. This episode is such a treat. What a stunningly beautiful and calming home. You might - just might -- have motivated me to attempt to make some mince pies. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family and your friend, and all the best for the New Year.
Merry Christmas to you Nicolas, thank you so much for bringing a touch of elegance to my world. I love your podcasts and look forward to more in 2024. All the best to you and yours.
Absolutely beautiful so envious of your stay here but really just so happy for you. I can just imagine a fragrant coffee in the morning and you and Nathan having supper there before setting in.
I loved the tour of this house so much. You are so right it felt very warm and unpretentious for a country house, especially their use of the dried flowers from their own fields to decorate, the smell of the real Christmas tree, and fire logs burning. So nice! You made me laugh when you said the whopping high ceilings!😆 They are very high and very lovely bordered by the architectural molding. Thank you for sharing your special trip with us.
The house looked lovely - what I could see of it. I spent about 1/3 of the video with my eyes shut to avoid motion sickness as you kept waving the phone about. Look at the Luxury Travel Expert. His panning technique is excellent and entirely watchable. Otherwise, thank you for an enjoyable vlog.
Hi Nicolas! The tour of this country house is stunning! I was blown away by the simplicity, the colors, and the woodwork of the house. Each room has its own personality...which I love. And your room is gorgeous...I was looking for a flaw, and I swear, I couldn't find one. I love these outings, and thank you for sharing such a great house. Happy Holidays to you, your family, and your friends. 👋😁
The woodwork in Keythorpe is magnificent. I'm obsessed with the baseboards, doors, and window casings. All of it! Plus, I wish you a good soak in that gorgeous red bathtub. Thanks so much for sharing, Nicolas!
The setting of the home and the bones are absolutely beautiful. We did find the furnishings in the living areas to be somewhat randomly placed, sparse, and repetitive, and not quite grand enough for the space. But the bathrooms are quite unique and aesthetically interesting. What I miss seeing are bookcases filled with books and beautiful objects to add warmth and hominess. Stunning landscape though!
There is a parfum called By the Fireplace if you're interested by the company Replica, described as "a unisex perfume that re-creates the comfort of sitting by the fireplace, with woody notes of burning wood and chestnut."
Although I have enjoyed all your videos of historic houses, this was the first time I felt a clutch in my heart. It’s a feeling I get whenever I come across something I truly love, be it paintings, furniture, music etc. It’s actually physical. Thank you.
Thank you Nicolas for this beautiful visit ! All is enchanting, there are not too much decors, all is well done and matches well together , it gives a comfortable and cosy atmosphere to feel at home. Also the big windows let the light comes in and more light is what I dream because it is dark in my flat as soon as there is no sun...The view on the country is so relaxing too...For sure it is a magical place ❤❤❤❤
Nicolas, thank you. I really enjoyed your tour of Keythorpe Hall. You take us to another place and period with these great country estates. Wishing you the best at Christmas and in the New Year. Robert.
Wonderful look around Keythorpe Hall. I totally agree it's heaven. Thankyou for all you vlogs over the last 12 months all your hard work bringing us an insight into beautiful places and all your inspiration. We are on the 5th renovation its our last one at 79 and 75 we have run out of year but have not run out of the buzz you get doing up houses we no live in a 1967 bungalow with wonderful amenities around us a nd lovely neighbours its been daunting having to do this renovation as we have always done "it ourselves" so employing builders ect has not come easy but were at the end and have the two bedrooms to work on I do hope you buy your dream house Nicholas and share your renovation journey Do have a wonderful christmas with family & friends x
When you make mistakes in your baking, would you like people to point out why. Or it is what it is. After all, the taste is the most important thing dear. Your videos are amazing. Thank you so much.
Questions for your Q&A. 1) what are your goals for 2024? 2) if someone were going to visit Edinburgh for a long weekend, where should they stay and what would you suggest they do while visiting? What is the best time of year to visit and why? Thank you. happy Christmas!
Question: I am amazed to see how well behaved Sophie is and how she only goes a certain distance ahead of you when she is off-leash outside. What sort of training did she have? Thank you for sharing with us! Wishing you a very 6:15 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Nicolas.
Those are Drummonds stand alone showers. They start at around 40k. Wish I could afford one, they're beautiful. That place isn't an inn where you book rooms, so you'd have to book the whole thing, wedding, etc. I guess there's enough clients that do that there that make a renovation that expensive worth it.
so beautiful and surreal. It's absolute stunning and I enjoy the british style a lot as I lived in Scotland for a while 20 years ago. All are beautiful memories.
What a stunning property - thank you for showing me such a wonderful house. I can only dream of living in such a house.Imagine a magical Christmas there looking out at snowy fields and enjoying Christmas dinner and then relaxing by the fire.
Thank you for your wonderful travel vlogs. This English country house is absolutely charming and 🤩😘fabulous!!! What a wonderful luxious stay.. It's rainy and drab in California so it's fun to share your travails.
Hello Nicolas. I am Carolyn from Barbados and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I would love to see a couple of your most successful dinner menus and how you go about creating them. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I look forward to seeing you achieve your 2024 goals.
I throughly enjoyed this video Nicolas. The house is beautiful and I absolutely love how the rooms are decorated. I would like to know the colors of the painted walls of the bedrooms. My question is: When will get to meet this special man in your life? Also, where do you plan to vacation next Summer? Could we have your mincemeat pie recipe?
Nicolas more or less gave you the mince tarts recipe. Make pastry. Take store purchased mincemeat (Cross and Blackwell is a good one.). Mix in some orange zest. I would personally leave out the white chocolate chips as they are not authentic. Cut out bases and tops for the tarts and fill with the mincemeat. Bake at 300'F for about 20 minutes until nicely browned. Also there are numerous recipes/instructions/videos on the internet.
Question: One family tradition my daughter and I began about 10 years ago is to take turns reading a ghost story aloud to each other in the time between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Do you have any personal ghost stories from any of your stays in historical manor homes or apartment buildings in the UK?
Absolutely stunning. I can just imagine the women of that period sweeping down that beautiful staircase in their gowns. ❤ The romance of that period. I noticed there are no curtains on those magnificent windows. Did I notice built in shutters? Thank you for setting us straight about your friendship. 😊
Keythorpe Hall was magnificent. All I see here in Costa Rica is beach decor, so i yearn for some English eloquence. As a dancer with the Louisville Ballet Company, I was often invited to the large homes of benefactors and I always enjoyed those visits. The wallpaper in your bath at Keythorpe would look excellent in your dining room, as would the cloud wallpaper. Both light enough. Just my opinion. For myself, I would love to know more about you. Where you came from and your early childhood that made you the person and decorator that you are. Thanks for the tour. Kisses, Sophie.
If I ever win the lottery this is the style of house I would buy. Simply stunning! I hope you have a fantastic Christmas, sending best wishes to you and your loved ones. 🙏❤🎄🐾
Thank you Nicolas for a wonderful year of videos. A good question for your Q&A would be wine pairings. What wines are best with what meals and desserts. Love from Texas🥰
Such a stunning Georgian house. The mix of modern and traditional works beautifully. Each room looks so cosy and relaxing. I've just purchased a 1920's apartment (in Leicester funnily enough) so now have so much interior inspiration. Thankyou for taking us with you 😊
Nickolas , have you given any thought to putting your photos into a coffee table book. It would. be amazing and a great gift for future travel experiences. ❤ wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year 🎄🎉

I totally agree!😊. I've never been a fan of low beds, I like "climbing" into bed!
I could eat, sleep, dream, love, read and drink wine in this place forever!

It’s a chilly day (gasp) in California, got a coffee and enjoying this divine grand home. Thank you Nicolas!
Hi, you must be in NoCal because it's warmish here in SoCal! I wish it was colder...
It was 74f/23c here in San Diego! But the rain is heading our way in the days ahead, and we're looking forward to cool weather
I loved this tour-boy, it's stunning! My question for you-what is your dream destination to spend Christmas on vacation? Mine is Lucerne.
Love your videos. They always add such a touch of class to one's life. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas, Nicolas.

I love the way the home owners have installed the shower units in each bathroom Nicolas. Unique and very clever. Plus they look elegant.

Thank you very much for giving us a tour of the property . . . very well done.
As i slump into my bed tonight, I'll be dreaming about this beautiful home . Thank you for giving us a tour!
I need to know where they found the free-standing showers in several of their bathrooms. They are stunning!
Piękny dom , życzę ci Nicolas spełnienia marzeń i abyś miał równie wspaniały dom . 🤩
Nicholas, as always, is very beautiful and fascinating. Thank God that you are!!! You are a ray of light!!! Love you🫶🫶🫶❤️

The views are breathtaking and the house so beautifully decorated. Pristine.
Viewing the world through your lens is always so uplifting and relaxing. I appreciate your tone, outlook, content, and knowledge in general.
Nicolas, this is a real beauty with such lovely furnishings. Thank you for including us, as I adore the Castles and Manor Houses throughout Britain.
Thank you Nicolas for taking us along. What a beauty she is!
Greetings from Holland. Love your videos, so calming and elegant ❤

I love English country homes and you’re taking us along! Thank you so much for this Christmas treat. Hugs from France.
Happy Christmas and a Happy, healthy New Year. I hope all your dreams come true.❤
House is beautifully furnished.
What a spectacular home. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Merry Christmas.
Happy Holidays and prosperous 2024 to you! Your channel has been a light in my day 😊

You have a truly luxury life and must do so well in business. Well done!
What a beautiful entrance. Love the open volume which is still so warm and welcoming. 💛✨️

I love how expressive English people far lol. My favorite quote, "there is a bite in the air" .
The woodwork in Keythorpe is magnificent. I'm obsessed with the baseboards, doors, and window casings. All of it! Plus, I wish you a good soak in that gorgeous red bathtub. Thanks so much for sharing, Nicolas!

Thanks Nicolas! Looking forward to your Q&A... and happy holidays!!!
The shower in your bathroom....incredible!.. and the wallpaper 😍 👌 💕
Good that Nathan is your partner. He intercedes into your pictures/ films into your videos. You are you! Yours is yours and his is his!
The windows are magical. The plantation shutters are a nice addition.
Wow! This home is amazing.
The drawing-rooms remind me of sterile hotel lobbies! Not a widget of personality. Only item missing is the check-in desk. The wcs are nice.

Keythorpe Hall was perfect in every way. It was uncluttered and elegant and every room radiated calmness…so perfect.

Dear Nicolas, hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a most Happy New Year to come!
The flower arrangements were particularly beautiful
Such a stunning Georgian house. The mix of modern and traditional works beautifully. Each room looks so cosy and relaxing. I've just purchased a 1920's apartment (in Leicester funnily enough) so now have so much interior inspiration. Thankyou for taking us with you 😊
