Never thought of using metal fill filament for outdoor signs, very cool!
I have an iron spool waiting for me at home! I just used the copper version and added a patina to it. Looks soooo good! Nice work!
That’s awesome that you’re going to try out the iron one! I really love using filaments like this and experimenting with the patina.
I love this! I’ll have to try it
It is awesome filament. So much fun to use especially when making a rusty finish.
It looks great the only problem is as soon as the sun hits it its gonna warp or just outright melt pla on its own deforms at very low temperatures so the heat absorbing metal will only amplify that
It's HTPLA that can be heat treated for better stability at higher temperatures.
Looks nice
Good work!
Did you have to change other settings other than the nozzle size?
Like for example, printing speed, nozzle and bed temperature, etc?
I have one of those from proto-pasta, but I am waiting the .6mm nozzle to arrive.
Thank you.
No, I didn’t make any changes to the default PrusaSlicer settings other than slowing the first layer speed down to 10 mm/s. It really was like printing with regular PLA!
@@saraprints3d That is great, would you know how fast the other layers would print on the prusa? I see that in the proto-pasta guidelines they recommend 20-80 mm/s for the rest of part, but if I could get the quality of your print while printing faster than 80mm/s, it would be awesome.
Thank you so much for the reply.
Can you share the link tho???
Is it attracted by a magnet?
Yes
Hi, and mechanical properties? Is it close to plastic or metal ? Thanks
It’s PLA plastic with metal powder. It behaves just like PLA but can be polished and/or weathered to give it a metal look. It’s really cool stuff
@@saraprints3d ahh ok thank you very, I dreamed it's can behave like almost metal, for mechanical parts it's could very interesting...✊🌹
can it be magnetised?
No, but magnets will stick to it
what is in that solution to make it rust?
vinegar
Hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and salt. More info here: www.proto-pasta.com/blogs/how-to/17590348-improved-rusting-method-for-iron-prints
@@saraprints3d thank you
Ok, but why is so expensive!
is it good to make a firearm?
No, it would not be good for that use.
