Here in nyc you don’t even have to do that. Just avoid all major roads and follow them using side streets that go the same direction. This is especially good for the outside boroughs because you’ll get your longest and highest paying fares that way (well at least one of the ways). So if I’m on Northern Blvd in Queens I’ll take 35th Ave instead. Follows Northern BlVd but it’s a dead street. :)
