I think the biggest problem with crash diets is that they're often done by people who just can't wait to go back to eating. If you really want to be slimmer, then get used to the idea that you simply can't eat "all you want".

    • @pistachioonut6683

No, the issue with crash diets is that eventually they push 99% of people on them to binging. It's not that surprising that when a person basically starves themselves they become food obsessed and can't wait to get back to eating.

Who knows if they're right but I can see a time and place for it. If you're told exactly what to eat and how much for a short period of time, you won't have to worry about under/over-estimating how many calories you're taking in and your weight will drop rapidly if you have the willpower to stick with it. For someone who is at major risk of a heart attack due to their weight and eating habits, symptoms of hunger may be more desirable than the potential death waiting for them if they continue eating the way they normally do. I think the goal would to be losing as much weight as possible quickly and then transitioning to an appropriate caloric intake for the individual to start losing weight gradually.

I face palmed when the woman said sh would "try" to finish the full plate in front of her - It's not a competition!

900 calls od sugar water! Why would anyone do that to themselves. You could eat pounds of on stash - vegetable for that same calorie amount and never be hungry all day. It's important to also eat some dietary fat so that your body can absorb the fat soluble vitamins in your vegetables, but you can eat so much for 900 cals and npt be hungry. It's also important to help 900 calories is entirely too little for any human to be eating everyday. The so-called cleanse diet is meant to mimic the behaviors of Anorexia Nervosa. AN can be developed at any size, although it largely goes unnoticed until a person becomes " too thin". starvation or extreme calorie restriction is not something to be messed with. If you don't bother learning the basics of nutrition, of course you're going to gain the weight back. A crash diet only really makes sense for someone who has the basic knowledge and basic willpower to eat healthy afterwards.

20:18 Ketosis and Ketoacidosis are two completely different things! Ketosis is natural. Many of us use ketones for energy during our sleep period. Ketoacidosis happens can happen during a diabetic crisis and be very dangerous. That NEVER happens during a keto diet! Please tell me a Medical doctor isn't making that claim! I guess by "carbohydrate reserve storage" the narrator is referring to Glycogen stored in muscle and a little in the liver.

I know, I can't believe how so many of these 'experts' conflate a natural state (that even babies are born in!) with a true diabetic crisis...Ppl just want any excuse to not give up their carbs because many of their craving/problem foods are carbohydrate-based.
