I was so happy to hear a new album from them after a 40 year break. And they still have that sound and their vocals are still on point, even in their 70's
I love that ABBA came back after 40 years and delivered what might be the perfect pop song that’s unmistakably ABBA but still doesn’t sound dated at all. Just put all the 40 years younger artists to shame 😄 And then hearing Happy New Year singing about in another ten years ”in the end of 89”…
Abba songs make you feel good, happy, sad, emotional. Btw „Thank you for the music“ was a song from Abbas Mini Musical „The girl with the golden hair“. For darker sound you have to listen to Abbas 80s album „The Visitors“. It’s amazing. Wish you all best for 2023.
ABBA is Perfection (in my opinion anyhow haha). I was in my early years of high school when I started my obsession with ABBA and I truly believe that they're one of the greatest bands of all time -- those who disagree with this sentiment are often a huge red flag for me lol 😝🤣 Like Friedrich Nietzsche said: "Without music, life would be a mistake." and I couldn't agree more. I love you honey and Happy New Years! #2023 🥰😘💖💙💜😽❤
Abba are in the rare list of music acts that people get connected to them in a deeply emotional way that is hard if not impossible to overtake. It's very strong and tight really.A piece of us.
Another great selection! "Don't Shut Me Down" always makes me tear up. Such poignant lyrics about renewing a relationship and also a bit of a love letter to fans. As if there was a chance we wouldn't gladly welcome them back after a 40 year absence! "I'm now and then combined" always gets me. And in the crazy-ass modern world, it seems maybe the one and only thing we ALL can agree on is ABBA! Happy New Year!
It's such a perfect, clever lyric - if it was just Abba coming back with a song about Abba coming back I'd have felt a bit cheated out of the Abba I love best, but it works as both a classic Abba lyric on classic Abba themes AND that. I remember when I first heard it what really hit me was the line "I believe it would be fair to say you look bewildered" - such an Abba line, like we hadn't heard for forty years!
but don't know with Don't shut me down for some reason also makes me tear up whenever I hear it. I love Abba but no other song of theirs gives me this reaction. A magical group .
Hello. Thank you for all you have done for us during 2022. I hope you got as much enjoyment as we did. It would be lovely to see you visit the UK. Looking forward to seeing you in 2023. Keep smiling😊😊😊😊😊😊❤😊😊
Thank you for the music, ABBA! ❤ I saw their ABBA Voyage show this year - the most incredible thing I’ve witnessed without the artists being there. So many people dressed up - the technology is outstanding - thoroughly recommend!! Please review: Eagle Summer Night City (DISCO heaven!) Angel Eyes ❤❤❤
THANK YOU for ABBA.Heartwarming.Always put a smile in the face.Songs are all classics and mean so much to Abba fans.Btw.HNY is an 'after the party' story telling song.Already traditional.
Greetings and Happy New Year, PMD...ABBA is unlike any band out there and yet after 40 years, they're back with new music that has their unique ABBA sound. As you continue your ABBA journey, you should listen to "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, ' The Way Old Friends Do, 'Ring Ring and ,The King Has Lost His Crown'. All different but uniquely ABBA.
Nice to see you again, choosing the iconic swedish quartet ABBA for last video of the year. And you chose 4 great songs, three of them are in my ABBA Top10 "Thank you for the music" (1977) is a beautiful song, with a beautiful Agnetha in lead voice, from their fifth album "The Album" It was the first song of the mini musical "The girl with the golden hair" that ABBA performs on their tour of Europe and Australia. and it becomes an anthem, they usually used it as the closing song in their television presentations The blonde singer Agnetha recorded it in her second pregnancy "The name of the game" (1977) is the first single from "The Album", sixth #1 to ABBA in UK, one of their most complex and elaborate songs due to its successive changes of rhythm is the only ABBA single in which Agnetha and Frida sing verses separately The official video was filmed in the kitchen of Agnetha and Björn's house, due to Agnetha's advanced pregnancy. "Don't shut me down" (2021) is the latest ABBA Masterpiece with a beginning and end similar in idea to "Thank you for the music", Agnetha's introduction is anthology and the last minute with a spectacular crescendo is the apotheosis is one of the two ABBA comeback songs, recorded between 2017/2018 (after 35 years, since their breakup in 1982) and included in the new album "Voyage" it was #1 in Sweden and Switzerland, and the last Top10 for ABBA in the UK, recent nominee for the 2023 Grammys "Happy New Years" (1980) included in the sixth album "Super Trouper" another beautiful melody with a powerful chorus ABBA this year released a special vinyl edition that was #1 on the vinyl chart. I wish you a great New Year My best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South America
Thank you for the (ABBA) music and a Happy New Year to you. I hope you have a wonderful year ahead filled with more music and joy - Cheers from Australia...
It's always nice to see your enthusiasm for good music. And the reaction to Abba is especially nice. I love love love love "The name of the game". Happy new year!!! Hope to see you often. Gladly again with Annie Lennox
Great choice name of the game was my favourite ABBA song love later ABBA songs but nice to happy new year start to new year not knowing what will happen in the future
I'm so happy u ended this one with happy new year its perfect. What a great year of reactions u have gave us all. Can't wait for what u have in store for 2023. Happy new year much love from Scotland 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for your ABBA reactions. You are the best! I wish for you to react to Kisses of fire and If it wasn´t for the nights. The second one live from Tokyo 1978. All the best, Lisse from Sweden
The Name of the Game is the highlight of that batch. Such a brilliant song. It's from the same album as Take a Chance on Me, and it was really a high point in the musical careers for me. You pointed out the terrific instrumentation, and the call and response vocals in the chorus, but it showed off what Abba always does so well. I would love for you to listen to The Visitors (Cracking Up) which doesn't have a video, but the song is such a departure for ABBA, it's one of my favorites. Happy New Year to you! Look forward to more reactions in 2023!
The wild stage costumes of these decades were partially inspired by the Swedish tax authorities. You could make deductions for clothing used in the shows to earn your income - but only if they couldn't be used for everyday private use!
I have this impression that there is a message in the first song. Thankfulness and a good heart can be sensed in them. How many times have you heard thanks in a song? If I could sing and could do it for a living I would also record a song in which I show my appreciation. Let us always try to show our gratefulness to others. There is no more beautiful thing in the world.
Love your smile! "Happy new year" video was made in a Circus with circus performer. Thats why you see the almost naked man and many other strange outfits at the party. Thought you should know, because of your disappointed reaction when you did see the almost naked man.😀The same as in the "Super trouper" video.
TNOTG is a perfectly crafted song and like you I still smile all the way through it. Puts me in a really good place. Another song with the same effect is Maybe by Emma Bunton, again, perfect Pop.
The strange costumes for Happy New Year were worn by members of a professional circus group. ABBA were originally to film the video outdoors in London but were not allowed to do so, as their presence would have caused a major traffic jam! So they shot this indoors in a studio with the circus troupe.
The bassline of The Name Of The Game is based on a slowed down version of the opening of Stevie Wonder's 'I Wish.' If you listen to 'I Wish' you will hear it. I always listen to 'Happy New Year' on New Year's Day. The second verse is particularly amazing lyrically. Finally, Happy New Year to you.
That was probably the local Tarzan that you saw amongst the partygoers. It's probably a good job that you never encountered former Olympic swimmer Johnny Weissmuller, who played the character in twelve feature films. I think that it was more than likely fellow swimmer Esther Williams who admonished him when the naked Romeo appeared beneath her window one night. She wasn't going to play Juliet to that! Instead she shouted "JOHNNY! GO HOME!"
Bryson where are your Xmas Decs? Did you record this in Nov? Love all 4.your right I love how you can tell it's still them but they've used more modern words/terminology on don't shut me down. Don't worry about the mess it was cleaned up in 79. Happy new year Bryson! Here's to a growing channel, new fab reactions and you continuing to be your fabulous self🥳🎉❤️
hey hope your xmas was great. i love this old classics, perfect! I was wondering if you would want to be interested in more kpop? like la poeme (more in line with this one) or BTS or DKB
My 14 year old neice, who is quite a decent singer herself, asked me how Agnetha sings so well in her 70s. I told her that Agnetha is a unique talent (IMHO, the best pop singer ever after Karen Carpenter) Karen would have been the same age as Agnetha, and we would have had such a wealth of music if she were still around.
Nothing like some ABBA to see the year out. Happy New Year Bryson, I really hope the year to come, brings amazing things for you. Thank you for a wonderful year of entertainment, we're so lucky to have you. ❤
_Thank You For The Music_ makes me a little teary-eyed. It touches something very sentimental in me. ♥ "I ask in all honesty: what would life be - without a song or dance, what are we?" is just a great line. Music is a not just a means of communicating ideas and emotions, it's a window to the soul 🌌 As for _Happy New Year_ , I love the song but New Year's Day is the absolute *worst* day of the year for me. So depressing, waking up to the bleak sunshine barely making it through the overcast sky, with a slight headache from the champagne a few hours ago, and the year just lying ahead of us like a terrifying, vast blank slate, waiting to be filled. "Surely this year can't possibly get worse than the last one?" you ask yourself as you start to clean up the mess from yesterday's party. Oh how naïve. 🥲
The Name of the Game is a true masterpiece, one of their best!
I was so happy to hear a new album from them after a 40 year break. And they still have that sound and their vocals are still on point, even in their 70's
Although I note Frida's Swedish accent is more noticeable in this new album which i like
@@crispy5000 Agnetha's too.But it's fine by me,sounds exotic.
The Name of the Game is a masterpiece!!!!!
The smile on your face watching ABBA is priceless , Bryson.
They are genius.
“The Piper” is another outstanding ABBA song. ✌️
Thanks
I love that ABBA came back after 40 years and delivered what might be the perfect pop song that’s unmistakably ABBA but still doesn’t sound dated at all. Just put all the 40 years younger artists to shame 😄
And then hearing Happy New Year singing about in another ten years ”in the end of 89”…
Your face lighting up hearing the chorus of "Thank you for the music" for the first time just made my day.
There is an alternative video for 'Happy New Year' with Abba singing in Spanish, called 'Felicidad'. Set aside for next New Year, perhaps!
my mom said that she played that last song on New Years Eve 1989 😃
And next time maybe your kids can play it in 2089
Agreed, when they add a touch of melancholy it really works!

Yes my fav song by ABBA. The Name of the Game. Thank you for reacting. Big hugs and ❤️🙏🏼
Love your ABBA reactions (and reactions period!) HAPPY NEW YEAR! 'Don't Shut Me Down' was released 2021!
Thank you for all your 2022 content and look forward to what's to come in 2023!!! Happy New Year from the UK!!!
Thank you and happy new year. By the way - The Name Of The Game is a real masterpiece! ❤😃✨
Another great selection! "Don't Shut Me Down" always makes me tear up. Such poignant lyrics about renewing a relationship and also a bit of a love letter to fans. As if there was a chance we wouldn't gladly welcome them back after a 40 year absence!

The Name of the Game has always been my favourite of theirs, not sure why as they have so many good songs.
Thank you for the music, ABBA! ❤

Yaaaas Abba!
I grew up with these wonderful masterpieces (such as the first two songs). You can't help smiling and feeling joy every time you hear them.
Fantastic choices for your final reaction video for 2022. Thanks for making my New Year's Eve!!
Happy New Year! Wish you all the happiness in the world in 2023 and the years to come!
Angels sent from Sweden 🥰 nice to see the younger generation appreciating them, love your reaction and happy new year
Great reaction as always... Abba is Magic period!
Nice to see you again, choosing the iconic swedish quartet ABBA for last video of the year.
And you chose 4 great songs, three of them are in my ABBA Top10
"Thank you for the music" (1977)
is a beautiful song, with a beautiful Agnetha in lead voice, from their fifth album "The Album"
It was the first song of the mini musical "The girl with the golden hair" that ABBA performs on their tour of Europe and Australia.
and it becomes an anthem, they usually used it as the closing song in their television presentations
The blonde singer Agnetha recorded it in her second pregnancy
"The name of the game" (1977)
is the first single from "The Album", sixth #1 to ABBA in UK, one of their most complex and elaborate songs due to its successive changes of rhythm
is the only ABBA single in which Agnetha and Frida sing verses separately
The official video was filmed in the kitchen of Agnetha and Björn's house, due to Agnetha's advanced pregnancy.
"Don't shut me down" (2021)
is the latest ABBA Masterpiece
with a beginning and end similar in idea to "Thank you for the music", Agnetha's introduction is anthology and the last minute with a spectacular crescendo is the apotheosis
is one of the two ABBA comeback songs, recorded between 2017/2018 (after 35 years, since their breakup in 1982) and included in the new album "Voyage"
it was #1 in Sweden and Switzerland, and the last Top10 for ABBA in the UK, recent nominee for the 2023 Grammys
"Happy New Years" (1980)
included in the sixth album "Super Trouper" another beautiful melody with a powerful chorus
ABBA this year released a special vinyl edition that was #1 on the vinyl chart.
I wish you a great New Year
My best regards from
Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷
South America
Thank you so much for the info!!

Thank you for your ABBA reactions. You are the best! I wish for you to react to Kisses of fire and If it wasn´t for the nights. The second one live from Tokyo 1978. All the best, Lisse from Sweden
You are amazing to manage 3 great songs from ABBA. They really were sensational. Thankyou for putting the video on! xx 💖💖
Thank you for watching! 😊
I recognized them all and it was a real treat to hear them again after all these years. Even the new one is terrific. Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year ! Your reaction to this masterpieces is so beautiful : your eyes shine and the sweet smile says everything. 😍

Yes ABBA Thank You for the music! The scene at 17:30 is also on the cover of the Super Trouper album. When they had albums.
TNOTG is a perfectly crafted song and like you I still smile all the way through it. Puts me in a really good place.
Another song with the same effect is Maybe by Emma Bunton, again, perfect Pop.
Happy New Year! ❤️❤️❤️🤩🥂 Many hugs, champagne and tears of joy. 2023 will be better.
Great reaction mate...Abba is my favorite band EVER.
Great 👍
The Name of the Game spent 4 weeks at No.1 in the UK (in Nov/Dec 1977)
The strange costumes for Happy New Year were worn by members of a professional circus group. ABBA were originally to film the video outdoors in London but were not allowed to do so, as their presence would have caused a major traffic jam! So they shot this indoors in a studio with the circus troupe.
So I say thank you for reacting.....😉 Its another fabulouys reaction! Happy new year to you too PancakeMashmallowDude!!

Check out ‘The day before you came’ ‘Lay all your love on me’ and ‘The Visitors’.
bravo. old bands are the best. i want to see another swedish bands europe, ace of base and roxette. thanks.
Happy New Year is one of the most depressing songs they did, at least in my opinion. It's kind of a good one for January to be fair.
GO HOME!"
Im crossing my fingers for more Cocteau Twins reactions !!!
Bryson where are your Xmas Decs? Did you record this in Nov?
Love all 4.your right I love how you can tell it's still them but they've used more modern words/terminology on don't shut me down.

I believe I filmed that video in October, actually 😂
@@PancakeMarshmallowDude I knew it.caught you😄
Please do steps.they have a big gay following.🙏🏻
Agnetha looks particularly gorgeous in the thank you for the music clip
Can you play some "Pointer Sisters"? I recommend "Slow Hand".
hey hope your xmas was great.
i love this old classics, perfect!
I was wondering if you would want to be interested in more kpop? like la poeme (more in line with this one) or BTS or DKB
Reac to dum dum diddle live performace ,i have a dream,i do i do i do i do , on and on and on and on live, for the next reaction of abba please
The odd thing about ABBA is the intertwining relationships between them. The men are elfin midgets, and the woman are beautiful.
😂
Leopard print speedo could be yours 😉 you only gotta ask
Remind me barbra steisand 👍👍
Have you had to delete any of your past ABBA vids?
Only 2 or 3 of them, I believe.
Looks like it may have been Fernando, Waterloo, & Dancing Queen
My 14 year old neice, who is quite a decent singer herself, asked me how Agnetha sings so well in her 70s. I told her that Agnetha is a unique talent (IMHO, the best pop singer ever after Karen Carpenter) Karen would have been the same age as Agnetha, and we would have had such a wealth of music if she were still around.

Happy New Year.
Nothing like some ABBA to see the year out. Happy New Year Bryson, I really hope the year to come, brings amazing things for you. Thank you for a wonderful year of entertainment, we're so lucky to have you. ❤
♥️🙂
_Thank You For The Music_ makes me a little teary-eyed. It touches something very sentimental in me. ♥
"I ask in all honesty: what would life be - without a song or dance, what are we?" is just a great line.
Music is a not just a means of communicating ideas and emotions, it's a window to the soul 🌌
As for _Happy New Year_ , I love the song but New Year's Day is the absolute *worst* day of the year for me. So depressing, waking up
to the bleak sunshine barely making it through the overcast sky, with a slight headache from the champagne a few hours ago, and the year just lying ahead of us like
a terrifying, vast blank slate, waiting to be filled. "Surely this year can't possibly get worse than the last one?" you ask yourself as you start to clean up the mess from
yesterday's party. Oh how naïve. 🥲
