Can I beat Ultra Sun using ONLY Shiny Dark Type Pokemon with hardcore nuzlocke rules? This means no items, no overleveling, and I always play on set mode along with the other standard Nuzlocke rules.

Umbreon has high defense and special defense. I always Ev train my umbreon to have high attack stat as well so that my Umbreon is a tank.
While I think Umbreon is the most overrated Eeveelution, I can’t argue any of these points. The Pokémon is just so good

My favorite Dark-type is Grimmsnarl. It’s a really buff Pokémon that’s also a Fairy-type, and he kicked butt in my first playthrough of Sword.

This has got to be a new favorite Nuzlocke, or at least being up there amongst Vivid's channel. The Outer Banks naming theme fits the team too well for me to comprehend, and the selection of viable mon has to be one of the sickest layouts yet! All around thoroughly good video.

In the dragon trial why didn't you switch into incin? Its bulky enough to live a crit drain punch from komo oh and take out the scizor without dyiny when its at -1 or -2 . Going to sableye and sharpedo risked crits as well and id argue both would be worse to loose to bad rng than the incin

My favorite Dark type is a tie between Bisharp and Grimmsnarl. They're both really fun to use in battle and as a History and Mythology/Folklore lover they're just perfect in my eyes. They also have really dope shinies

I regularly run dark type teams. Probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite type
absol is definitely one of my favorite dark types, I had one on my original sun team from 2016 and he was a great part of the team :] plus it has a pretty cool shiny

Can't wait for the dark shiny only with no exp and all enemie pokemon are set to 100 with no evolution or new moves but you have to do another nuzzlocke run after every gym/trial and if you lose that run a pokemon dies nuzzlocke with extra saltieness

You should do a shinylocke in Pokemon Y but with Poison types. (this is very biased as these are my favorite game/type), also editors note: my favorite shiny pokemon is the dark type Absol

I liked the video, and I understand your reasoning, but, I feel like boosting the shiny odds ruins the point of the run. The whole point is your using super rare pokemon, but boosting the odds gets rid of that comepletely
I hear you, but to do this video legitimately on a fresh save would take months. It might be fine to do as a stream series, but for making semi-regular content, no shot. When I start streaming again I will gladly do a full odds run, but in order to finish the series I started, trying to do a shiny monolocke with each type, I have to speed up the video production somehow. To me it’s more about seeing runs with the shiny Pokémon and the additional added stakes of still having to hunt for my team since even with raised odds most hunts take multiple hours. Idk, if it’s not for you it’s not for you. Those are my reasons tho. Either way, thanks for saying this respectfully. A lot of people do not offer me that courtesy ❤️

What happened to the level cap? Vid harp was lvl 48 in the Lusamine battle
The cap in that battle is 49. I just go by the next totem which is Kommo at 49
out of curiosity what odds did you set for shiny pokemon? also it would be entertaining to see the number of encounters to find each shiny
I’ve done this before but honestly, I normally don’t keep count of encounters. Instead I track the time. Odds are around 1/150. Same as PLA outbreak method
@@invividcolor that is fair I can imagine it being tedious. I hope they boost the odds in the new releases or have a mechanic that isn't too insufferable the shiny hunting in PLA was the perfect level of difficulty

Just for the record, a 50% and a 30% chance arent added together to find the chance of poison.
Its a 50% chance it wont happen from the move x a 70% chance it wont happen from the ability. There was a 65% chance to poison.

My favorite dark type has just gotta be Greninja. God tier shiny, water shuriken is just so cool, and its debut in XY and XYZ was keeping me on the edge of my seat at all times.
I never actually finished sun and moon nor have I played the ultra versions. I remember being like a badge or two into moon and quitting cus It felt so slow and I got bored. Never went back to it. I've beaten all the rest of the games tho

Found you while binge watching Antlerboy funny enough, my favorite dark types are absol (who’s my favorite pkmn of all time) and mightyena beachside my fist ever Pokémon game I played was ruby, I got to see quite a few dark types. I’ve done a couple runs where I only use mightyena on ORAS and it’s soooo much easier than doing it in the original games. I’d love to see a mono Pokémon run but with your favorite Pokémon :)
obstagoon is my fav dark type. its so good against alister, avary (if playing shield) and has so much coverage its not even funny. (dark,normal,bug,fighting,poison,electric,water,grass,fairy,ghost,ice,ground,fire,steel).
I never played the original sun/moon but I played ultra moon. And I liked it, but my own stupidity made the game really tedious. I never realized you could fly from one island to another… so Every single time I needed to go to another island, I would have to fly to the boat locations and ride the boat to the island and then fly where I wanted to go. And I would constantly forget where the fkng boats were located 😭 it was torture. Wasn’t until years later watching a video I saw someone change the map screen to fly 🤣 I died a little inside… so obvious.
It’s sad that you didn’t use zoroark because it’s my first ultra moon shiny and my 2nd zorua encounter and I used it for my whole run beating everything easily. Even nocrozma by always spamming phantom geyser when zoroark’s ability illusion
Another way to beat ultra necrozma with arguably more ease would be to to lead with zorua with pancham in the back, ultra necrozma should always go for photon geyser to be super effective against a fighting type, meaning you dont even need to take damage! Obviously this depends on your ruleset, some people may feel they cant have pancham in the back because it isnt a dark type, but imo if you dont use it in battle its fine, as long as it evolves into a dark type!
My birthday is July 24th and my faveruite I can't pick just one but my top 3 are Drapion' shiny umbreon and obstagoon in no particular order also I don't include legendary or mythics since it will be well a little to obvious

Finally they fixed Alola, like why did you fight Kahuna Hapu before doing the Dragon Trail? And why was it a dragon trial when the Captain specialized in Fairy?

my fave dark type zorua not only is it good to beat necrozma(with a fighting type as the last pokemon it cnt hit you. ive onlt had it not work once and when i got back it worked so i have no idea why it didnt the first time.) but its also super cute.

Fun story, I was attempting a hardcore run of ultra moon, and while grinding at the trainer school I found a shiny zorua. I allowed myself to catch it and it ended up being my only pokemon left when I beat the game.
