On todays video I headed out to the river to fish a bass tournament. The river was high and muddy which created some tough fishing. There sure is nothing like summer bass fishing best part about it is frog season where i live in New Brunswick Canada and it looks like you had a great time on the water that is what is all about!

I know....sometimes it helps and sometimes it hurts. I think it dropped so fast that it shocked them
Good job during tough conditions. Our tournament lake is tough too and I took 3rd with 1 fish last week out of 22 boats.

I know it. It hurt me when the 2 shorelines I wanted to hit had people on them. They had been consistent for me 2 weeks in a row so I wanted to hit them but I really think I could have pulled another keeper in that one area for sure

You are a great fisherman and love your videos…. But Imma say it, man, you set the hook way to fast on these frog fish. At least give them a second or 2. You keep pulling it from them!!! The fish don’t even go under water with it and you set the hook. Just my opinion… it’s helped me, might help you. Good videos and keep it up.
I know its really hard to know it without fishing certain bodies of water but the fish here do 2 things with a frog. They either eat it or they don't. 90 percent of the frog bites that I miss the fish never even have it in theirs mouths. They just blow up on it without eating it. When they eat it they choke it but if you wait they will spit it and you will miss them. I know its weird but it just comes from fishing a certain body of water for over 30 years. You don't wait on these fish to set the hook no matter what you throw or they will never be in the boat. Everyone that fishes here knows exactly what I mean. But some other lakes are different just comes down to the body of water

Question?? I want to start videoing all our club events and tournaments but have no idea about cameras or programs or editing software. But i want to learn and start making videos. Any suggestions. I'll take whatever advice anyone has to offer.
I have been frog fishing for a very long time, and I can tell you, With complete certainty, if you slow your frog down just a little bit, and when you get bit count (outloud)1 onethousand 2 onethousand 3 onethousand 4 and then set the hook, your hook up ratios will increase by 90% trust me! I have had them hold onto a frog for up to a 10 count! Just try it bro!
I know what everyone is saying but I have over 15 years of froggin myself and have caught thousands (im not playing) of fish on a frog. On this particular body of water if you wait you are swinging air. They will spit it in a split second. Same goes for flippn. They are aren't like lake fish that hold on to it. I adjust my hooksets to where I'm fishing. Everyone that fishes this body of water knows exactly what I'm talking about. It may seem weird but its the way it is. I catch way more than I miss. I show the misses in my videos to show context and the struggles of a tourny day. Alot of fish I catch I don't even show

Body of water has nothing to do with the body of water. It’s the lure and conditions like pre or post front many many variables determine how the fish will bite a lure and it can vary hour to hour . I have 50 years experience in bass fishing on the East cost.

When you’re working your poppin frog and working it fast….. are you walking it back to you? Side to side kinda action?
I do it both ways and sometimes I vary it just in a single cast. I let the fish tell me kinda how they want it honestly

What’s your frog fishing setup?
I have 2.....one is a 7ft 3 MH Moderate (Green Rod) and the other is a 7ft 3in Heavy Moderate (Silver Rod). Both have 6:4.1 Revos with 50lb Balsax Braid

Me and a buddy fished there that day also. We fished the morning and tore it up until about 2 in the afternoon, took the boat out to get lunch and put back in before y’all launched for the tournament and we did awful that evening after putting back in. It was light a light switch went off lol
