Excellent looking game thanks for the take! I have a series of ancient themed games, this looks like it fits right in. About the time of Moses even, very nice!
I came here after watching your video. I haven’t pulled the trigger on this one only coz of this comment by you. Curious to hear what BGRamblings think about this aspect🙂
I was drawn to the theme and have only played it solo. I enjoyed it, but I am looking forward to playing it with another player even more. I'm new to the hobby and haven't really played any other game like it. It's a 9.5 for me.
Been really enjoying this one, and my girlfriend likes to play with me, so that's a plus. Personally, I think I like Sabika just a bit more because of the extremely tight feeling of the resources and actions economies. The way having 6 coins feels like you can do anything, but then it's gone right away XD
I'm surprised by how much you loved the game, it makes me want to give the game a second chance. I don't think it's a bad game, I just think it's fine, and I'd rather play any of the other euros that came out at Essen such as Daitoshi, Shackleton's base or SETI. It's too point-salady, there's no "reward" for focusing on one thing, because like you said you can just pivot and score the same amount of points (almost), the actions are boring, they're all moving up tracks but not in a fun way like Federation. I do think the action selection mechanism is very good though, but its like an iteration on the action selection in Bitoku, and I'd rather play Bitoku. It doesn't help that the names of things is hard to remember (for me), just like it was in bitoku, but at least in bitoku I can give them descriptive names (i.e. rock, dragon fly, blob, gem, etc...).
We didn't like Biitoku that much, so this is way better for our tastes. In Bitoku, the names of everything made the game a nightmare to learn, but after that, as we do not think about theme most of the time, I didn't think about those names. Same here. I don't even know what things I should forget what are called :P I had fun with everything here, and I did feel like I had to focus on something to get to the best point of the track, to be able to maximize my actions. Adding the interaction makes it even better for me :) Doesn't mean you should like it, so it might just be personal preference!
I’m totally puzzled by your take..could you explain what you are specifically referring to? I haven’t played it but it seem like it’s just moving up tracks like ever other euro game…which I’m personally getting tired of.
First of all, it's completely ok to not like the game. :D No game is for everyone. With that said, this was, for us, a super smooth game, where everything made a lot of sense, even in the first game. What did your players find not intuitive? :)
This game is GREAT. Had a blast so far at two and even solo!
So happy to hear!

Yeah, it's a bit long, but we enjoy many other euros that takes aroud 90 minutes wth 2 players! :) So happy we finally got to play it!

Yes. I love this game.
Love this game! Since I can’t decide between an 8.5 and a 9 for my own rating, I guess I agree with you both. 😊
Awesome :D
I loved this one. Different goal focus totally changes the game so a lot of replayability.
The heart/feather track is brilliant thematic integration!
Happy to hear! I love people loving games! :D
This looks gorgeous!
It's so good :D
Yay! I was just complaining about the lack of UA-cam vids about this awesome game.
Rahdo said it was long AF! You don’t think so?
@SAUPAYANMAZUMDAR I've only played it solo, which never seemed long to me.
Woop woop :D
For us, it's been around 45 min per player. So a bit longer than many other games, but not too bad at all!
My second best game of the year, so good. And i got play time down significantly after the first plays.
Happy to hear you're enjoying it! What is your #1? :O
Would love to see you guys stream a play through
Probably won't happen, sadly, but thanks for sharing!
Looks like the Egyptian themed version of Gugong
It's been a while since I played Gugong, but I don't remember too many similarities :)
No paddles at the end of the review like you’ve been doing with some reviews? But I guess we can assume it’s a double keep 😅?
We 100% forgot 😂 And yes, it’s a double keep!
How do you guys rank Men Nefer, Sabika, Bitoku?
They answered that at the end of the video :p
@ lol thanks. I clearly didn’t watch all the way to the end. What was the answer?
@@SAUPAYANMAZUMDAR They don't particularly like Bitoku, they like Sabika a lot, and they like Men-Nefer the most of these.
Yes, correct as answered!
Still ignoring those pyramids, eh? 😂
I actually maxed out the "big pyramid" track last time we played :D

Tekhenu obelisk of the sun looks better than this one
What do you think of Tekhenu?
I love both games, and they are very different. Theme isn't anything for me in any of those, so I haven't even thought about them being similar, hehe.
I thought it was "Meh"- Nefer. The mechanics weren't very intuitive so players made mistakes a lot. Also, the gameplay was very formulaic. **shrugs**
Genuinely wondering what one could possibly play wrong here? It is SO clear what can be done

was this your players' very first euro game?
