    Had a friend rebuild my pump years ago, I think I've used it maybe twice since then. When I had a new windshield installed back in 2019, I installed new blades. Very hard to find! I did find them at Autozone, but I had to buy a longer set, & cut them down.
    GREAT video, thanks for sharing!

      I have never bothered to fix the washers on my cars prior, this one isn’t mine and I think it’s a nice touch to have everything working upon delivery

    The wiper/washer unit appears to be identical to my 67 LeMans. Now I know how to fix mine!!
    Really excited to see what your next project will be. You can be sure, I'll be watching.
    Thank you so much for what you've done for us DIY guys. Your one of a kind and greatly appreciated.

      I am open to any generation of bird. I have owned all of them at some point and restored the first three generations. 1969 is my favorite year then it’s a toss up 1989 GTA black with tan interior, 1977 special black and gold edition, or 1999 30th anniversary. So someday when I hit the lottery I think I should just get them all. 😎

      I actually thought about it. Well a little orange food coloring and water in a Mountain Dew can. Decided it might stain it instead.

    Great Video again. All useful information. I took all of your Great Pumpkin videos made a general to do list on my Firebird project, then made a parts list of the items that my car needed from the to do list. Thanks for making such great videos. FYI I found summit carries almost all of the AMD parts I needed for my Firebird in Ohio. This is a short 4 hour drive for me so I saved a ton in shipping.

    Thanks for creating these videos, I have learned so much. I feel like I could do this in my garage now. Have you ever restored a 2 gen firebird? I am not a huge fan of the 1974-76 front ends and was wondering what it takes to replace with a 1970-73 front bumper?

    • @VinylVillageGarage
      @VinylVillageGarage  Рік тому +1

      For the most part it is a bolt on mod, I swapped over a 1979 Firebird to the 1973 front bumper and 1973 formula hood. That’s was over 20 years ago but I don’t remember having any issues.

    Usually when I do these I replace the whole unit because most of the time the bearings in the motor or shot and the brushes are almost gone on the Armature. also the control arms that go to the wipers I disassemble and relube even if they have nylon. Also the wiper squirter nozzles I take out and clean with small orifice bits. Sometime the old hoses breakdown in the inside that goes to the nozzles stops them up where they do not squirt properly, or when people pour washer fluid into reservoir they will get dirt and debris inside the reservoir which goes to the nozzles. Some reservoirs have screens on the pickup some do not.

    • @VinylVillageGarage
      @VinylVillageGarage  Рік тому +1

      Good point not a bad idea to back flush the nozzles prior just I case they are plugged up. Thanks!

    Jon, what's the trick to removing the wiper arms? Seems you need at least 3 hands and a screwdriver for the tab. I can't get any leverage to pull it up off the splines. Thanks!

    • @VinylVillageGarage

      If the paint is bad and need redone I use a open end of a combination wrench. I did it in the tear down video of this car. They make a tool for removing the arms

    WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO SPECIFY WHICH OF THE THREE WIRES FOR THE WIPER MOTOR IS POSITIVE. i KNOW YOU HAVE TWO GROUNDS AND ONE POSITIVE. THE ISSUE I HAVE WITH MY CAR IS ALL THREE WIRES ARE INDIVIDUAL AND NOT IN A 2 WIRE CONNECTOR. NEED TO KNOW WHICH WIRE IS POSITIVE AND ON WHICH PIN DOES THE POSITIVE CONNECT TO. Thanks
