I have a cheap MP3 player but it’s nice it’s the Innioasis G1 from Amazon. My question is would this “smart” earbuds work with a cheap mp3 player that u cannot download apps to, it only comes with preloaded apps like Spotify, audible, and surprising Apple Music. I don’t want to spend a pretty penny on this if it wouldn’t work. I work a desk job for the Govt 8 or more hours a day and I’m tired of my Skull Candy earbuds dying on me after 3 hrs of the day. Sound is good on them but not excellent. So please can u let me know if there is a chance I could use them with my mp3 player.

Depends what you want out of the sound quality IMHO. The dual driver setup (on both the pro 2 and pro 3) gives them unparalleled separation - shockingly good. If judged on the separation alone, its on par with a decent pair of over ear headphones. Putting separation aside, its still pretty good but in-line with other premium options from non-audio companies (Samsung, Sony etc.) but not quite on the same level as the audio specialists (B&O, Bowers Wilkins, Sennheiser etc.). Separation still beats anything that's single driver though.

I like the sound character of the AZ80 more but the OPBP3 are better in every other way. Denon is a pass overall for me. I don't get the hype. They sound bad.
@ThisIsTechToday They had the Denon PerL Pro's on sale on Amazon today. So I grabbed them to compare to my OPBP2. Also, since they support aptx adaptive, I can finally use them with my Bluetooth dongle that is compatible. They didn't have the OPBP3 on Amazon, only through a third party. I haven't seen them on there since they took down the pre-order listing.
@ThisIsTechToday Ok, so today I tried the Denon's. I completely agree. Until I did the personalized sound test. Whoa! Night and day difference. Then, I tweaked it with the EQ. Even better. A V shaped sound that is both dynamic and clear. Then, I turn on high-gain mode. Loud and punchy. The Pro 2's can't touch them. My main complaint with them now cured. The OPBP2 are dynamic but lack the oomf of the Denon's. (Loudness being a limiting factor) The Denon's sound more engaging in the upper bass, too. ANC is also far superior. What I can hear with the OPBP2 I do not with the Denon's. Now, my main criticisms with the Denon's are fit and comfortability long term. Better ear pieces may remedy this, but overall, I prefer the tear drop shape. Another L is my Samsung phone not supporting AptX Adaptive natively. Not the fault of the Denon's, but LDAC is supported on more devices. I tried the same test with my wife, personalized for her ear, and even she agrees the Denon are much better. I'm still interested in the OPBP3's but cautiously optimistic since they are apparently quieter and have less output than the OPBP2's. Maybe they need a high-gain mode, too, to make this a fair comparison? 🤷♂️
